Chereads / I became Zoro's Sword / Chapter 24 - The Third Brother

Chapter 24 - The Third Brother

"Hello, my name is Sabo."

He held his hand out, looking for a handshake, but I merely gave him an up-and-down look and said my name, "Yasuo." I am not interested in what he is offering or will say to me, and if he's one of them, then I will simply kill him like the others before them. This isn't a new thing for me, as many like him have tried to recruit me or abduct me, and for a good reason.

I wield the technique that my teacher, Elder Souma, passed down to me. It's a technique that allows me to use the wind for myself, a technique that doesn't require a devil fruit, so many have been trying to persuade me and my master when he was alive to teach them the technique. A technique that can rival devil fruits would be beneficial to any organization that deals with conflict.

Pulling his hand out with the same smile he gave me from the start, he began to speak and said, "Sir Yasuo, I am Sabo from the Revolutionary Army, and I—" Before he could even finish his sentence, I quickly stopped him and said, "I don't know what the Revolutionary Army wants from me, but I will have to refuse."

He looked at me with his smile fading away, replaced by a disappointed look. After he looked at me for a couple of seconds, he continued to speak and said, "We know what happened on this island, and we know how it feels. The tragedy that happened on this island is happening around the world, not just on this island. We need someone like you. Don't you want to overthrow them like we do? At least try—"

What he said was only replied to with a glare from me that made him tense up a bit. How dare this bastard say those things to me, he doesn't know, they don't know.... "You know nothing." I walked away, heading towards a tavern that I usually go to whenever I am stressed or angry, whenever I need to lose some steam. The tavern is run by an old man and his grandson, who is 8 years old. I've grown to like the kid because he was the same as one of my friends when I was younger.

As I walked past the usual loud street of this area, my senses and the wind were telling me something was wrong. Getting near the tavern, the sudden smell of blood made my face pale. I have been in countless battles since I was young, and I have only been scared of the smell of blood thrice, and it was the death of my loved ones and those who are close to me.

Even though my heart was racing, my face showed its usual calm demeanor that never seems to falter. Closing my eyes for a second then opening them to get ready for what awaits me, I open the door, and to my horror, I saw the child being held up with blood all over his face along with his cries and snot. What angered me the most was, the 5 men didn't just kill the boy, but tortured him, and even made his grandfather, who could barely walk a long distance, cry and beg for his grandson.

"Please, let him go! You can do whatever you want, take whatever you want, just not my grandson!" Those were the only things I could hear even though I saw them laughing, I could only focus on the crying of the old man. I gritted my teeth in anger and clenched my hand so tight that blood began to drip. With my blood dripping down the floor, and the door finally closing shut, the 5 men who were laughing finally looked at me and began to speak.

"Well, well, well, it took you long enough hahahahaha," said the guy who was holding the kid.

All of them just began to laugh at his words, and he threw the child into a corner full of barrels of wine that spilled all over the kid. As I watched the kid, I heard footsteps getting closer to me, and the same voice began to speak, "Do you know why I'm here, mister?"

He threw a knife at my feet to get my attention as I was still looking at the kid, and when I looked at him, he was holding up a paper that he began to tap with a stupid mocking face. The guy had green skin with a black hat; he also had a grey vest with guns all around his hips, with a mouth full of sharp teeth that threatened to bite down on anything it got its hold on.

The paper that he was holding was a wanted poster of a man sitting down with his hair tied up and a blue torn clothing. The wanted poster also said:

Only Alive

Yasuo, The Unforgiven

95,000,000 berries

"95 million, can you believe it?" said the man as he tried to make a shocked face.

My anger could not be contained as I unsheathed my sword and swung my sword, aiming towards his neck. However, to my dismay, it was met with the sound of metal clashing, as I saw his hand block it with ease. His hand was now covered in sharp scales that looked difficult to cut; I am guessing that it's a devil fruit that he ate, and he must also be a bounty hunter as he is here to claim my bounty. The other guys don't seem to have any type of devil fruit and don't look as strong as this guy.

As my sword clashed with his hand, he merely gave me a small snicker. He closed his eyes and began to move his finger from side to side and said, "Tsk, tsk, tsk. You see, Mr. Yasuo, I am here because you have pissed off someone you shouldn't have, and they want you dead. I am deeply sorry that I have hurt someone important to you..." He opened his eyes and made a grin so big it reached his ears; he then continued and said, "We don't have any grudges... Right?"

As soon as he said 'right,' I did a 360 with my blade aiming at his neck from a different side, but he quickly caught it with his fingers and made a disappointed look. The grin on his face was now replaced by a frown.

"You are not worth 95 million," he said.

He threw my sword away and also sent me flying alongside my sword. Then he slowly pulled out one of his guns and started walking towards me with slow steps. As he pointed his gun towards me and pulled the trigger, I quickly reacted and used the wind to create a Wind Wall that blocked all projectiles it faced.

When the bullet hit the Wind Wall, it stopped, and the man gave me a grin and said, "So you've got a few tricks." I used my sword to pierce him and used my wind as support and extra insurance so that if my sword did not pierce him, my wind would.

He tried to block my sword with his hand but soon learned the consequences of the wind. His hand now had a hole in it, and his stomach had a small wound that started to bleed.

"Ha, you bastard," he said, still with a smile on his face.

"Well now, try stopping this!" As soon as he said those words, his right arm began to turn more green and started growing scales, his hands also began to harden. Once the transformation of his arm finished, he quickly launched his fist towards me with his menacing smile. However, it was quickly stopped with a pipe.

"Hmm?"

The man looked at Sabo with disinterest and said, "Hey, blondie, could you please get rid of that pipe? I'm trying to kill him, you know. Tsk, tsk, tsk, read the room, man." Sabo responded with a kick aimed towards his head, which the man dodged with ease.

"Why is a man like you in this part of the sea?" asked Sabo with a serious face.

I stood up and asked Sabo, "You know him?"

Sabo looked at me and responded, "Yeah, his name is Renekton, and he is a bounty hunter who caught the legendary pirate, Vasco Shot."

The two of us looked at the bounty hunter, while Renekton looked around using only his eyes. He then put both his hands up and said, "Woah, buddy, you stalkin' me? Kinda weird, man... Anyway, I give up."

With a frown on my face, I asked, "What?" This bastard toyed with the old man and the kid and expected me to just let it go?

"You might not notice but... There's about 20 people outside who seem pretty strong to me, and I'm not about to try anything stupid, especially not when he's around, Sabo, the Revolutionary Army's chief of staff. I would be hunted down by a flying lizard if I kill him... Wooo, scary, right, kid?"

"You bastard!" I walked towards him with my sword ready to cut him down, but I was stopped by Sabo who said, "You can't kill him yet; we need him for something. Sorry, Yasuo."

"What?! You're gonna let a bastard like him live?!" I yelled.

"I know it might seem dumb, but please understand that I am doing this for the better. We will also compensate the two over there. I am truly sorry."

As I watched Sabo and the others treat the two, I began to see the Revolutionary Army in a different light. When Sabo and the others finished treating the kid, he walked up to me and began to talk, "Listen, Yasuo, we aren't here to take advantage of you; we have already met your master. He was a great person, and he also had the same ideals as us, it was just he couldn't leave someone alone... His only student."

Hearing what he said stiffened me up a bit, then he continued, "We need your help; your Wind techniques can help many people, not just in the Revolutionary, but the whole world."

"I... I will join you, but on two conditions."

"What are the conditions?"

"I will not be forced to kill anyone that I believe does not deserve to die, and for the second condition... I will kill that Renekton bastard when you are done with whatever you're gonna do to him."

"We can definitely do that!" Yelled Sabo with a huge grin on his face.

Smiling, I asked Sabo, "When will we leave this island?"

"Hmm? In about 3 hours from now. We need to keep moving so the World Government doesn't know where we are. Do you need to do something?"

"Yeah... I'd like to visit my master's Dojo."

"Elder Souma? Is it ok if I go with you?"

As we walked to the Dojo, we talked about my master and how Sabo knew of him. It turns out, Dragon wanted Sabo to be a student of my master, but my master declined as he was already teaching me at the time. But if I wasn't his student, he would've been the student of my teacher.

After walking for a few minutes, we finally arrived at a run-down Dojo that reminded me of the past when I would get scolded by my teacher and the memories of my training.

When I opened the door, the smell of dust greeted me, and the picture of my teacher was the very first thing I saw. I walked towards the picture then prayed for a couple of minutes when I suddenly heard a sound of a door opening. Looking back, I saw Sabo looking at me with a shocked face and pointing at a door. I walked towards Sabo with a frown as he disturbed my praying, but when I saw the door I was shocked.

I had never seen the door in my stay in this Dojo, not even once. Curiosity took over me, and I walked forward, entering the door with Sabo following behind. The whole room was dark, except for one item placed in a traditional sword stance. The sword looked magical with the sunlight hitting the sword and only the sword.

Looking at the sword with awe for a few seconds, we suddenly heard a sinister voice behind us that said,

"Pick it up."

This is a longer chapter because I don't want to bore you guys with a story that doesn't really relate to cannon. There will be more chapter of this but if you hate it you can tell me so I can make it as fast paced as I can.

Also if you haven't, please give my other ff a try, I think it's a pretty good ff and I have great plans for it. It's about a guy becoming danzo and making a new root!

Edited: Btw, can you guys give me your top 10 ff? I need new ones (I am desperately in need of something to read), and please don't give me R18s lol
