Crack!
Standing on the terrace, looking at what her crows showed her, Hera's eyes flash with rage!
She forgot how many times it had been. How many times Zues dishonored her. What did she see in him? He's an arrogant man who sleeps with whomever he can, destroying families as a result.
She was no different, as she is an arrogant goddess. The amount of blood spilled because of her obsession was large.
In that mortal village, Zues is showing a gentle and fatherly side she has never seen. Isn't she supposed to be his one and only?
Sitting down, it was like a mountain was removed from her back and her vision had become clear. She had been blinded because he saved her in the war but looking back, it was not needed. With her strength, defeating that giant was not hard. A hero rescuing the heroine, that's how she remembered the scene.
She is an obsessed woman trying to own a man, a god that cannot be owned. Her everything has gone into making his life perfect but what came of it? Of the many gods, even her siblings, none could be called her friend. However she had more enemies than she can count.
Sigh.
If not because of her divinity of motherhood, which demanded both parties be united, she could have divorced Zues. But considering her blind devotion to him, she doubts even if she could, she would.
Honestly, if not because she has options, she would not have thought of this but Chu Yi figure is very desirable as a woman. Even Zues had not looked at her with such passion.
It was mainly because Chi Yi is very powerful. Even when compared to Olympus, he was a God King.
Sitting down, she pondered what she should do. On one hand, Olympus seemed like a burden, but on the other, it was all she knew.
She was not foolish as to just run to Nazarick, that would make Olympus her enemy and she knew what being enemies entails.
In reality, the only allies she had is Ares and that's because she raise him correctly. He was very obedient to her but in the grand scheme of things, it was nothing.
Her other son, Hep…she might be arrogant but she knew there was no chance of reconciliation between them. She tosses him off a mountain with little chance of survival.
If Chu Yi knew of this, he wouldn't want her. If she could abandon her own flesh and blood, what of people unrelated to her?
After pondering, she decides to go see Hephaestus, maybe then she can figure out what to do.
Looking below her palace, she saw many minor gods hurrying away from her, making her smile warily in her heart.
Even if she changed her outlook, no one would believe her. They would think she was scheming something instead.
Once upon a time, Olympus was filled with joy and everyone was smiling but as people became fixated on their status, they became arrogant and power hungry. She include.
Flying out of her palace, Hera went towards the cave which is Hephaestus' workshop. Usually she would send her servants to request items but today she was here in person.
She felt conflicted. On one hand, she was willing to change but on the other she was ashame.
She wondered how he would react to her presence? Happiness? Disdain? Hatred?
After ten minutes of pondering, she walk inside feeling the intense heat burning her. The air was hot, and the sound of hammer metal echo from its depths.
Reaching the end, a short man with strong arms, espose chest and pants stood facing away from her. His hammer never stop hitting the ore, yet he spoke, "What can this abomination do for the Queen of Olympus? You could have sent your servants as you always have."
If this was the past, she would have been furious and punished Hephaestus but she didn't. Even if she did, he would only hate her more.
"I have come to rest, do you have a problem?" She sat down and watch him work with interest and pride. Even without her, even with his disfigured body, he became so strong. He lacked the affection of her but became better than most of Olympus.
Hephaestus' hammer paused and the flames became hotter. He breath out, calming his anger and continue hammering. "You came here to rest? You could go anywhere but you came here? Is there something you want from me?!"
Hera could hear the rage and pain but she didn't care. There is no way she could repay him. No words can change her actions.
"Just as you said, there is nowhere I cannot go. I want to see you and watch you work, that's all."
"I know you hate me for not being a mother to you and the fact I never accept you. I was wrong and not worthy to be call your mother. Though, I never regret giving birth to you."
Hepwgus mocking tone, respond "Throwing me off a mountain is the same as killing me! If not for the branch, I would have died."
"I guess you're right. Anyway, I just came here to let you know, if you need anything let me know. I came here as Hera, not the Queen of Olympus."
Hera looked at the back of her son and signed. He never look at her once.
Walking out of the cave, she walk around Olympus before descending on Zues location. She watch as he laughed with his son and pamper his mistress. She couldn't remember the last time he pamper her. How sad.
Maybe sensing something, Zues left and went back to Olympus.
Putting the child to sleep, I sat across from the startled mortal. "Don't be afraid, I didn't come to hurt you. I'm guessing you have an idea of who I am?"
The mortal looked away, but said firmly, "Who doesn't know of Hera? You have many temples in many places."
"True. Let me ask you, do you feel happy being in love with my husband? You know his identity and know that I am married to him yet you sleep together?"
The woman trembled and it was clear she felt the presence of death.
Hera sighed and softly spoke, "I said I won't harm you."
Seeing the gentleness of Hera, the woman was confused and guilty, "This was brought on by circumstances. I was once the Queen Consort of Corniyh, and was happy. My husband in the beginning was a good man but over time he began to change. After he had me, he seemed to get bored and would abuse me. After so much, I decided enough was enough and that is when Zues appeared before me. Though I didn't know it was him."
"Enough was enough?" Hera's eyes flickered and nodded with clarity.
"Okay, let me ask you, if your husband had a mistress what would you do?"
Without hesitation, the woman answered with firmness in her eyes, "Kill them."
"Isn't that cold blooded considering you're in that position? If it was me, I would have indeed killed you. Thank you, I have finished my business here." Hera stood up and disappeared.
Flying in the skies, I could feel my divinity changing becoming more. I don't feel as bound to Zeus anymore, though I still love him. It was less, far less.
Mm?
Looking at the clouds covering the town below, Hera realized something, "Apollo was the reason he was able to hide for this long. I guess this could be called revenge for Leto."
"Karma might be the strongest bitch."
