Chapter 67 - Capture

The screeching sound coming from the half-human creature was even more piercing than the roar of a beast, almost as if it could penetrate through the entire forest. Every time it collided with something, a huge golden rune-like wall would form in the air, followed by a thunderous roar.

Each impact would release a golden light from the runes, piercing into Lamia's body, causing it to become even more painful and restless.

It was truly surrounded on all sides. Even when it tried to fly over from the highest point, it was immediately covered by the overhead golden runes, causing it to crash to the ground with a resounding thud. Its entire body twisted and writhed in pain.

Figures began to appear beside Jason one after another.

Mr. Kote and his wife, as well as Elizabeth, who was now tightly leaning against Jason's shoulder, trembling slightly from the intense and brutal fight.

Steven siblings were dumbfounded.

"I never expected it to be like this..." Hill Steven, standing beside Jason, looked at the trapped Lamia monster, the pain and agony it experienced as it constantly collided with the invisible walls, and the golden light emitted from the impact. He was at a loss for words.

Lily Steven, beside him, watched the howling Lamia with mixed emotions. She shook her head and whispered to Hill, "This is the most thrilling demon hunting I've ever seen. If we can set up traps like this, it will attract more people to join the demon hunting profession."

"Of course... Can we ask Mr. Jason to teach us?" Hill looked at his sister and lowered his voice, making a request.

Before Lily could speak, Jason shook his head and said, "I heard you, but no. There's no room for discussion on this matter." He bluntly refused without any hesitation.

Hill could only remain silent with a wry smile. However, Lily couldn't help but give Jason a few more glances, her arms crossed over her chest, making her bosom appear even more prominent.

If it weren't for the dying struggles of Lamia by their side, the atmosphere could have been quite ambiguous.

"Kill it," Hill Steven gritted his teeth and said. Demon hunters had no sympathy for these abominations. Their attitude toward them was always about killing and exploiting them. Mr. Kote had a clear understanding of this.

Jason didn't say anything, not even showing any interest in Hill Steven. With a single thought, he retracted the flying sword in his hand and fixed his gaze on the trapped Lamia. He waited for it to gradually weaken. Suddenly, he took out a small cloth bag from one of his backpacks, opened it, and tossed it into the air.

To everyone's astonishment, the cloth bag suddenly expanded in mid-air, transforming into a huge cloth pocket. It inflated like a blower, as if wind was blowing into it.

Indeed, there was wind.

A gust of wind suddenly rushed into the pocket as if out of nowhere, instantly turning it into a massive vacuum cleaner. The air circulated, completely enclosed within the space covered by the runes. The swirling wind seemed to suck in even the grass around it.

However, outside of that circle, nothing could be felt. The air remained calm. This strange sight once again surprised everyone present. Even Elizabeth grabbed onto Jason's arm with one hand, almost digging her fingertips into his flesh.

Jason gently tapped her hand, instantly easing her emotions. He always made people feel a sense of security, even with such a trivial action as a light tap. After Elizabeth let go, Jason swiftly formed a hand seal and bellowed, "Seal!" His voice exploded like a thunderclap, resonating within the rune-encased area, startling Lamia and causing her to tremble intensely. Immediately, Lamia's tail was sucked into a cloth bag.

Her serpentine body was drawn into the bag, and just as her shoulder was about to be pulled in, she desperately clung to the bag's rim. She screamed in terror, the bag seeming like a giant dark vortex, a terrifying unknown awaiting her within.

Perhaps it was hell beneath, at the mercy of the tormenting flames.

Lamia's eyes were filled with pleading, the squeaking sounds of fear that she emitted were more of pleas for mercy. Her somewhat ugly face expressed an intense pitiable look.

Her body was stretched out, the arm grabbing the bag's edge was elongating, but the whirlpool-like suction was irresistible. After a fierce struggle, one of her hands suddenly let go. She couldn't hold on, wished to shriek at Jason, but then her other hand also slipped.

Suddenly, all was calm. A bag dropped from the sky into Jason's hand, a very ordinary, small bag. He casually tied the bag with a string, stuffing it into his backpack as simply as one would put an apple in a bag.

From releasing the bag to capturing the Lamia-like creature, it only took a few seconds. Yet it felt like an eternity had passed.

It was the first time the Kote family had seen Jason use such a grandiose method. Everyone was utterly stunned.

Jason ignored these reactions, calmly patting Elizabeth's shoulder, saying, "Don't worry about anything. Let's go, it's all over."

"Hey, wait!"

As Jason took a few steps, Hill Steven from the side hurriedly called out to him, catching up quickly, "That move was incredibly cool. Why don't you join us in hunting demons?"

"You've said that for the second time now. You go your way, and I'll go mine. Can we not interfere with each other?" Jason shook his head, "Although I don't bear any ill will towards demon hunters, I absolutely don't have any affection for them either."

Hill Steven stood there awkwardly as Jason walked away. Behind him was the Kote family. The danger here had been eliminated, and they could live here peacefully. As long as people like the Stevens didn't bother them, they would continue to live in tranquility.

"He really shouldn't have let him just go..." Hill Steven sighed.

Today's events had given him a fresh perspective on demon hunting. It turned out that demon hunting could be done this way. His family's demon hunting methods seemed effective, but when dealing with extreme anomalies, they seemed powerless. Jason's arrival seemed tailor-made to counter such people.

"No, it's not a shame!" Lily Steven shook her head, watching Jason leave with interest. One hand on her chest, the other supporting her chin, she laughed, "Since he also can't tolerate these anomalies, then he must be a demon hunter."

"Why is he so kind to the werewolf Kote family?" Hill Steven asked, "They are also anomalies!"

"That's different. They've always lived here like normal people, so...Mr. Jason won't harm them, which is good. Maybe our attitude towards anomalies should change."

"You mean to befriend them?" Hill Steven asked incredulously.

"No, discern their good and bad, and deal with them selectively." Lily smiled, "I still hate them, but not all anomalies should be killed." Her views had indeed changed.
