It was winter time,the snow fell on the beautiful carriage seline was in.It was her first time to see such a beautiful view,most of the time seline was busy selling flowers and herbs to get money for their daily basics."seline,is it beautiful?she looked at her mother and wondered what could have made her happy,her mother was always grumpy and drunk.she could usually beat seline or lock her in the basement."yes miss Melvin,"for a moment seline saw anger flashing into her mother's eyes."what nonsense are you talking about?call me MOTHER,"of course she emphasised the word mother to tell seline to follow orders."yes mother,"after that there was totally silence in the carriage.seline's mind wondered with alot of questions on her mind but she could not ask her mother anything.Where did such an expensive carriage came from and why are we heading to the city,seline questioned herself.she continued looking outside and smiled,she was happy today no matter what the reason was for them to go to the city it has saved her because her mother has not beaten her today.upon arriving seline's jaw dropped,the carriage stood infront of a big mansion.The gates were opened automatically,seline was still dumbfounded looking at how big the place was and the beautiful fountain infront of her."mother,where is this place?"Her mother did not answer her but continued walking towards a man standing at the door."your grace,Melvin called out to the man."Don't stand there come in,"Melvin was so happy just the feeling of stepping into the duke's house was a dream come true.seline was introduced to four other people in the mansion and she was told they were her siblings,at night seline could not sleep her heart was pumping very fast and her stomach was doing a fun dance.would this be the start of a loving family and a good life,she wondered. The next morning seline woke up at the crock of dawn,she worned her favourite dress and went to the table where her family was.upon arriving,she found the duke and Melvin chit-chatting.she greeted her because it meant Angel,celeb gave orders to the maid to punish her.she was locked in her room for three days without food or water and her mother did not even notice harsh punishment gave to her daughter or she just did not care.What a cruel life seline thought,she was supposed to have a carefree life now that they are rich and in a good place.Afterwards seline was treated like a maid and suffered in the hands of the maids,her clothes were all ragged and today she received the maids payment which means she was officially a maid now but she pushed those thoughts away and went to the salons to buy some clothes.All the clothes in the salons were expensive and she could not buy them so she went around and saw some clothes on the street,which were also cheap."How much is this dress,"the girls asked in unison.They looked at each other and laughed,"Hey,I am Abigal,what's your name?"Selina introduced herself after buying clothes and hanging out for a long time she almost forgot about her problems and even went to Abi's house.Abigal had four siblings,they were all kind and sweet to Abigal.How she wished they were her family when the bell tick indicating how late she was,Selina took her things and bid Abi farewell.What will she say or do if she were to be caught by the headmaid,Selina went through the dog hole at the back yard.She was shaking from the cold and will receive a punishment and the punishment is that you will do laundry at this minute until you are done no slacking off.Selina carried on with the punishment when the old hag left,old hag as selina calls miss travens.The snow started to fall on Selina the chill runned through her bones,she hated winter season now the most.When she was done it was almost dawn so she processed to the kitchen to do her work that day it was Angelina's birthday and she was to come back from the academy.Selina sighed heavily thinking how she was gone have it rough now she will be back and the brothers were also back to celebrate her eighteenth birthday,it was also seline's birthday but no one cared.Since they arrived in this house Melvin has forgotten about her daughter and has treated Angelina like her own,the banquet Hall was lavishly decorated and everything was according to Angelina's taste.When the time has finally reached for the birthday girl to come out,Angelina was escorted by her father,Duke pestro juli and her brothers who were adults now.Noble people from all different empires were invited and they came with different gifts and marriage proposal for the only princess of the empire,"seline,seline,are you deaf?"Melvin shouted at seline.Seline was brought back to reality when she received a slap on her cheek,she was surprised to found her mother infront of her and her heart anticipated has her mother remembered her birthday or has Melvin come to give her present but her wishful thinking come to an end when Melvin told her to hid her hairs and eyes as they regard it as a bad omen.Seline found out only earlier that the silver hair and deep blue eyes are traits of the Northern empire and it just happens that they were also invited to the party.She decided to run away when the nobles were going home and sneak into the northerns carriage and make an escape to the northern empire to search for her dad as she believes that her dad is there,it has been three days into the carriage since she escaped from the duke's mansion.She dyed her hair black and made a potion to change her hair colour,she pretended to be a maid and followed the northern back to their empire and during this time she has noticed how kind the two princes are they could frequently stop and offer food to their helpers.One morning a shrieking sound was heared from a far, the earth started to shake and some ugly looking looking monsters appeared.The northern empire was always invaded with monsters and the knights were always fighting but some brainless people call them barbarians,now seline was facing the situation she was afraid and rooted to the ground.The monster was going towards her but she could not move as she thought after all the sufferings was she gonna die there,as she close her eyes while wishing for better life in the after life.the knights were fighting the monsters heroically but it seems the monster were only getting more and more,a hand pulled seline away from the approaching monster it was until then seline opened her eyes.The war continued and many monsters were killed as well as the knights were injured,after a while the monsters were all killed.Seline went around checking the injured knights and treating them as she had experience in medicines since she was six when she had to sell and went to the mountains to pick herbals by herself and when she was injured,she had to treat herself so right now she was a qualified to treat the ones who were injured and it turned out to be a big of a help to the envoy.Prince Rowan was observing her for a while now and started to tell Gabriel that the girl he saved was interesting,Gabriel was his personal knight.what do you think about her Gabriel this prince is asking you will you not answer me but when he looked back there was no one there he sighed and went towards seline,he grabbed her hand and looked straight Into her eyes.Seline's felt anxiety rising with her body has the prince found out her secret about her eyes,seline could not look directly into the prince's eyes just when seline was about to say the truth prince Rowan let go of her hand.what is he thinking Seline could not figure out the meaning of his behaviour first he saved her,secondly he stared at her almost as glaring at her and lastly he comes and hold her hand and let go after a brief moment was this prince a madman or was he going through that part.The knights processed with the preparation for going home, through out the way seline was enjoying herself especially since the prince gave her a place to sit since her leg was injured.prince Gabriel was quiet all the time but prince Rowan was quite cheerful and funny,the northern empire was so big,lively and cold.Seline was taken in the palace by the delegation of the prince and she was taken to the maids room to rest.It has been a week since she came to this place but she noticed that people in the northern empire are kind and sweet,she just had to do her assigned work.she was free most of the time like right now she was basking under the sun until Prince Rowan saw her and they talked alot,she was happy that he did not forget her.After three days Seline was called by the headmaid and she was told to pack her things,"pardon,I am to pack my things?What did I do wrong that you are kicking me out?"seline asked but only to found out that she was to be transferred to be Prince Rowan's personnel maid.She was happy and joyous of the news and quickly went to fetch her things and was ready to go to the Eastern Palace,upon arriving she was mesmerised with how big the castle was and the garden was beautiful.
