Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 - Yama's Verdict

After visiting hours were over, Hu Xian walked out of the Cloudgate Junction with a gloomy face.

He saw Yun En, the God of both Wind and Hell, standing against the wall of a pillar, staring into Hu Xian's soul.

This legendary immortal had the face of an attractive young man, ears like wings of an angel, and long, beautiful black hair shining like a gem.

Despite his attractiveness, he was the immortal that no one wanted to encounter at all.

If you crossed paths with him, it meant that you had committed a sin, and it was time for him to inform you to face your punishment.

These punishments by the Celestial Realm could be deadly depending on the circumstances.

For example, Memory Manipulation involved altering the memories of an immortal, causing them to remember certain traumatic or regrettable events from their past repeatedly.

Loss of Powers meant temporarily or permanently losing some or all of their extraordinary abilities.

Sent to the mortal world to experience hardship, their powers are taken away, left to navigate life's challenges without any supernatural aid.

Karmic Repercussions ensured that the wrongdoings they committed in the past would be brought back upon them, three times worse.

For instance, if you gouged out an animal's eyeball, now, both of your eyeballs would be ordered to be gouged out.

Cyclic Existence stated that after reincarnation or rebirth, their next life would be full of hardship and unluckiness, despite the next life being innocent and kind.

Lastly, the Parallel World involved sending immortals who committed sins to a distorted world where they faced unique challenges.

"I have determined your punishment for your sinful act, and you will experience it soon. But do not worry too much. It will just take quite a while," Yun En said and walked away.

Hu Xian nodded in acknowledgment, a mixture of fatigue and sadness evident on his face.
