Chapter 1 - Strange...

Pitch-black.

That was all I could see. Nothing but darkness in all directions. I'm not sure if my sight's gone dark or it's just the surroundings.

Despite this, I don't get why I'm not feeling any kind of panic or nervousness at all. A normal person would have had a breakdown or cause a hysteria. Instead, I feel... Relaxed. Like I belong here... Like I was meant to be in this place... Like I'm home...

And so, I let my consciousness just relax and s stayed still in this void-like place.

As I relaxed, I felt something inside me squirm. I ignored it and kept on doing my thing. However, after a few moments, it squirmed more violently. I tried to ignore it again but then-

*Crack*

I felt a crack deep inside me. Despite it, I'm still undeterred. I just let things flow and watched no matter what happens. Soon, I felt the crack grow larger-

*Crack*

And I felt something leaking out of me. The crack grew larger and the leaking won't stop. Eventually, a shattering sound was heard.

*SHATTER**FWOOSHH*

The 'something' that was leaking out of me gushed out uncontrollably in every direction. And it kept on going for a long time.

*Blink*

However, in the next moment, I was shocked for the first time as a pair of dot lights floated in the darkness. After a long time, there was something else in this void-like place.

It didn't stop there as more dot lights appeared in my surroundings in every direction. And the gushing was getting stronger concurrently.

The 'supposed' eyes of in the void were staring at me still, as if waiting for something. Eager for something... for me...

I felt a strange feeling inside of me. For the first time, once again, I am shocked that I was able to even feel something. However, I wasn't able to linger on my thoughts as the gushing stopped abruptly.

I stayed there, confused at this turn of events. I tried to look at the 'eyes' to ask if they know what is happening. But before I could do so... I felt an intense pain as something inside pulled everything inside me. The 'something' leaking out of me. The 'eyes'. The pitch-black surroundings. Everything.

I endured this pain as it felt like something would change after this is over. Something that would give me a purpose...

And after a long, long time, it finally stopped. However, I stayed still. As I felt that it was not over yet, it was just the first phase. It was now time to face the second wave. The surroundings which was now gray, suddenly felt constricting. It closed on me and I felt a impossibly heavy burden on my being. I felt like I was being crushed, down to the essence of my being.

However, I persevered. I endured it for what felt like an eternity. The weight was increasing as the time passes. As I felt like it was gonna end a moment later, the weight became impossibly heavier that I was really crushed under it. A moment later, it disappeared entirely.

I laid there, listlessly as I learned how it felt to have your essence of being crushed. It was a nasty feeling.

A few moments later, the gray surroundings coalesced around my being. It stayed there while swirling and kept absorbing the surroundings, forming a sort of figure around me.

After a long time, it stopped swirling and hardened visibly. Moments later, a breeze was released from my being as I now realized what it did.

I lifted my hands right in front my eyes to look at it. Yes, hands.

It was creating my body. I tried to feel my whole body if it was real. And touch, I did. I really felt it. I really have a body now. It was surreal feeling after being formless for a long time. I looked at the surroundings and found that my surrounding is still the same gray.

I got up and tried to make movements with my body. And moved, I did. Walking, running, tiptoeing, jumping, hopping, handstanding. I was really happy that I now have a body as I can now explore the environment I am in.

Nodding to myself, I looked at the surroundings and randomly picked a direction to go.

As I walked, I looked everywhere to see if there is anything I can find. However, I soon realized that this place is empty. I simply kept walking forward to try and see if this place has an end.

And the result? Yes, there was an actual end. This place has some kind of border that separates the gray and void area that I was in before. I kept on walking, closed my eyes, and fell down the void.

As I kept falling endlessly, my consciousness begin to drift off. And so, I let it go.
