Chapter 21 - Chapter 021

After successfully opening one acupoint, the wild man effortlessly opened the second and third acupoints, his eyes shining when he opened them.

Yu Su, waiting on the side and feeling a bit tired, lazily commented, "Not bad, wild man, your leadership skills are quite impressive."

The wild man turned to find Yu Su looking at him.

"Luyan."

"..."

"Fine, Luyan it is. Tell me, did you understand what I said earlier?"

Luyan nodded, eyes gleaming, "It's useful."

Yu Su snorted; what he said was the crystallization of wisdom – of course, it was useful. Observing Luyan, Yu Su contemplated some matters, then asked, "What are your plans for the future?"

Luyan stood up, walked to Yu Su, and squatted down, "Repay."

Yu Su asked, "How will you repay?"

Luyan replied, "Follow you."

Just following didn't sound like much of a repayment, but it coincided with Yu Su's thoughts. Luyan had good potential; with proper cultivation, he might become useful. Also, being a wanderer of the wilderness without a tribe or home, following them would give him a sense of belonging and stability.

Yu Su, who initially planned to persuade him, found Luyan suggesting it himself, saving him the trouble.

"You can follow me, but you have to behave and not cause trouble."

Luyan nodded.

"If I catch you doing something behind my back, I won't let you off."

"Understood."

Yu Su thought it was for the best; otherwise, he'd twist this guy's head off and use it as a ball.

Surveying Luyan's current appearance, he displayed a disdainful expression, "Looking like this, others won't dare to get close to us when you're in the group. Come with me."

Yu Su borrowed a dagger from Yu Feng, cut off Luyan's messy hair – tangled, dirty, with dust, and little insects – in a quick, efficient manner. The result was a neat, clean look, revealing intact facial features.

From the facial features alone, Luyan had distinct contours, well-proportioned and handsome.

"Looks quite presentable," Yu Su muttered.

"For now, let's keep it like this. We'll find a chance to clean up the mud on you later."

The next morning.

"Is this the wild man?"

"Can't tell."

Seeing Luyan's drastic change, Yu Meng and others were amazed.

When they heard that Luyan had learned to open acupoints, their eyes widened.

"Is there a mistake? How could this wild man learn it?" Yu Meng was the first to disbelieve. He had struggled for days without success, and this wild man, who appeared overnight, had learned it?

Others also doubted, reaching out to poke Luyan's arms and waist.

Luyan wasn't pleased, snarling at them with a fierce, beast-like gaze.

Yu Su intervened, "If you don't want them to touch you, show your strength. They won't dare to approach you if they see it."

Luyan, hearing this, stopped snarling, thought for a moment, and imitated Yu Su's gesture from yesterday, picking up a stone and squeezing it into small pieces.

Seeing this, the onlookers quickly stepped back, not daring to surround him.

Luyan, finding this effective, seemed to ponder.

Yu Meng, feeling a bit down, had practiced for so long without success. This wild man learned it overnight. He felt quite stupid. What if Yu Su disapproved of him for not being able to teach him?

"Heh, Yu Su didn't put any effort into teaching you at all," Yu Da passed by, sneering.

Yu Meng immediately retorted with a cold face, "I'll tell Yu Su if you speak ill of him."

Yu Da, initially attempting to sow discord, found Yu Meng unresponsive and awkwardly walked away.

Before the team set off, Yu Su mentioned bringing Luyan along, and the village chief hesitated.

After all, Luyan was a wild man, and these wanderers surviving in the wilderness were as fierce as wild beasts. They didn't follow any reasoning and were known for their strong attack and destructive power.

"Wild men are just like wild beasts. Bringing them back to the village will only cause trouble."

The shaman was the first to disagree, accusing Yu Su of disrespecting the mountain god by imparting skills to a wild man, claiming that he would be punished by the mountain god.

Yu Su innocently explained, "I didn't teach him; he learned it by eavesdropping. It just shows that the mountain god approves of him and is willing to give him a chance to become stronger."

The shaman immediately retorted, "He's just a wild man; how could the mountain god possibly approve of him?"

Unperturbed, Yu Su calmly stated, "I mentioned it back on Deer God Mountain – the mountain god specifically instructed that this method of becoming stronger can only be learned by those destined for it. If Luyan wasn't destined, how could he have learned it?"

The village chief nodded slowly; he vividly remembered the situation back then. Yu Su did say that only those destined could become stronger like him. It seemed that this wild man did receive the approval of the Mountain God.

"If that's the case, then bring him along."

"Village Chief!" The shaman still wanted to object.

The village chief advised, "We are under the protection of the Mountain God; we cannot go against the will of the Mountain God."

The shaman was left speechless. Could he really oppose the will of the Mountain God?
