The royal faction had failed to retake the barony from the rebels, despite sending half of their private army. General Augustus, who had led the attack with 100,000 soldiers, had suffered a humiliating defeat.
Ren sneered. "It seems the kingdom is on the verge of collapse. Some of the nobles will surely be unhappy with the royal faction for wasting their resources and lives. They may even revolt against them."
"What a mess indeed." Gareth replies.
"But it is good for us. It will be easier to declare our independence from the kingdom while they are busy fighting among themselves. The only problem is the Pinnacle Republic. They are a formidable enemy."
"Yes, they have new technology that can wipe out 1000 soldiers in an instant." Ren said.
"I heard they call it the Thundercaster, a magical cannon that roars like thunder when it fires."
"What a marvelous invention, if we had that weapon, we would have already conquered the entire kingdom." Gareth said.
Ren nodded in agreement. "Well, I covet that technology, but first we must secure our freedom before we challenge the Pinnacle Republic."
"Alright, it's time for us to lay siege to Emberwood city once more."
"Let's go then. We have lingered long enough. It's time to breach the walls of Emberwood." Ren said, mounting his horse and brandishing his sword.
"Kael! assemble everyone, today we will storm the Emberwood city again." Ren shouted.
"Yes milord!" Kael quickly gathered all the soldiers to lay siege to the city of Emberwood.
Ren, Gareth, and their soldiers gathered at the outskirts of Emberwood City, preparing for another attempt to raid the city.

"Milady, this is bad, the people are rioting, demanding to open the granary in search of food." Countess Maresha's brow furrowed after hearing the news from her subordinate.
"Hah." She sighs.
"Bad news came one after the other." Emberwood City is now in low supply of food because the Barony of Oscana has cut off the city from the outside world.
The last time the Church of Light brought supplies like food, weapons, arrows, they got raided by them, and now the people are rioting, especially the refugee they took in.
Countess Maresha, the ruler of Emberwood City, looked out of the window at the restless crowd. The situation was dire, and the looming threat of Ren and his rebels added another layer of complexity.
"We cannot afford to let the city descend into chaos. The people are desperate, and we must address their concerns," Countess Maresha said, her voice firm.
