I hear the wreckage the elves were making in the camp. They all sit in a circle on the ground building toys. You know the myth Santa's elf made all the toys, well I'm here to tell you they literally did. Rocking horses, and those creepy little toys where the clown looking puppet jumps out of the box. Those will be featured in my next nightmares.
Candy canes are literally all over the kitchen, but I like all the toys they brought for Kirsten. And there will be plenty for my niece when she returns home.
Sleeping without Chetan last night was absolutely painful, and the day yesterday was a blur. I went walking through the forest, and I met a man who said he was responsible for the snow. Jack Frost was his name. He was a mysterious fella. His body was all dark blue and he had light blue eyes, but instead of a black pupil, there was a snowflake inside his eye. He wore a top hat and had a cigarette cigar in his mouth. He was mysterious, but not scary, and very friendly. Though I got the Alpha rattled, Ajay said I should have howled for help for a new creature, instead of engaging with him by myself.
I see Ajay sitting by himself on the log. His coffee in his hand. I walk towards him, and his face lights up.
"Good morning, beautiful."
I feel my cheeks turning red with his words.
I smile.
"Let's go for a walk," he says standing up."
"Just you and me?" My eyes look him up and down. I couldn't hide the confusion even if I wanted to.
"Yeah, why not?" He laughs.
"I can hardly even talk to you for a moment by myself before."
"Nora?" He interrupts me.
I nod my hand.
"She's still sleeping."
Ajay and I walk towards the wood line, and it doesn't feel uncomfortable walking with him, just unfamiliar. I guess we haven't had much time with each other lately, and that's been driving my heart insane.
Once we were out of sight, and in the middle of the forest. Ajay handed me another jewelry box, but this one was smaller than my fiance's and more square shaped.
"What's this?"
"A Christmas present duh."
I roll my eyes at the sarcasm and his voice. I open the box and I notice a blue heart-shaped ring. It was absolutely beautiful. '
"Ajay, I don't know what to say, it's gorgeous."
"It's a promise ring, but a special one to promise to always be best friends. I know it's a little corny, but I know you know how I feel about you. And don't worry, I already told Chetan about it, he was cool with it."
"I mean, I was kind of doubtful these last few months we hardly ever talked, and it made me feel really downhearted."
He takes the ring and slides it on the opposite hand that I wear my engagement ring from Chetan.
"I'm going to try to divide my time better. Just as much as I love Nora, I love you. And I can't have you romantically, but I will always treat you like a special friend." I smile as he places a kiss on my cheek.
