Chereads / Me and God of Wibu / Chapter 73 - The rain witch

Chapter 73 - The rain witch

In the middle of the forest, a body flew through the sky and slammed heavily into the ground, rolling several times before coming to a stop.

"You are so powerful," Kirito said, coughing up blood.

"Of course, I am. I must be strong to defy my arranged fate. I don't want to feel that powerless anymore." Medusa said, still keeping the vicious smile on her face.

"Yeah, I understand. Greek legends often go beyond human imagination—incest, kidnapping, and even transformations into animals. Too much for modern people to comprehend. If I had been a girl in that era, I might have wanted to die. The fact that you survived proves your will is stronger than mine. That's why I admire you. I respect you from the bottom of my heart." Kirito said weakly, each word contained his sincerity.

Medusa's pupil changed and her grip on the spear was softened. Her look was no longer vicious like a poisonous snake preying the food anymore. Her eyes were more girlish and soft.

But, she quickly got back to her old self. She launched towards Kirito with immense killing intention.

Kirito raised the shield which could be broken at any moment.

With one hit, the shield which did a good job of protecting him was finally broken into pieces.

Without a shield, his body was exposed nakedly to Medusa. As a heroic spirit, she took this crucial moment and landed a kick right into his stomach.

Kirito turned into a cannonball and flew out, shattering any tree standing in his path.

Medusa just stood there and watched Kirito flying. She didn't give a chase or strike a final hit to end his pathetic life.

She could kill him but something sleeping deep in her stopped her from doing that.

"Don't tell me I still have some humanity left behind." Gritting her teeth, Medusa approached Kirito who was knocked out on the ground. "So annoying. Here I thought I lost it forever."

"Farewell, shield boy. You involve not a good memory for me." Staring down at Kirito, the tip of the spear aimed for his head. Her hands were still shaking even though she steeled herself with reason. She took a deep breath and slammed the tip of the spear down with the intention of taking Kirito's life.

Suddenly, a sharp sound in the air distracted Medusa. Medusa dodged instinctively, and an arrow flew past where she had just been standing. Her eyes narrowed as she looked in the direction of the attack.

It was a simple arrow, far too weak to harm her. Normally, she wouldn't have even bothered dodging such an attack, but her instincts had forced her to move. Out of the shadows stepped a young boy holding a crossbow.

"Tsk. So many idiots deliver their cheap life to me. So kiddo. Don't bring that ridiculous idea that I won't kill children." Medusa mumbled.

Conan had appeared to save Kirito, though it was clear he stood no chance against her. It was a reckless move made in the heat of emotion, the kind that never worked out well. But when Conan saw Kirito unconscious, he didn't hesitate.

He shot at the heroic spirit, knowing it was a suicidal move, but determined to save his friend.

In return, the spear was hurled towards him.

As if time slowed down, Conan could see the word 'death' clearly.

However, Conan was a special character in his own world.

So special that everyone gave him a nickname called 'death god'.

Every time he goes, there will be at least one person who is dead.

Even more, any Black Organization members who knew his identity would be killed in the end. That was why he still lived to this day.

With his aura of death god, Conan fell to the ground by the mysterious force just in time her kick was at his head level.

Seeing Medusa too close, Conan rolled a few times to make a safe distance.

When Conan stood back up, Medusa was already in his sight, her hands aiming for his neck.

Conan dodged as the ground beneath him collapsed, barely managing to escape her deadly blow.

"Lucky kiddo" Medusa muttered.

But his luck didn't last so long. After a few minutes of chasing him, Medusa finally landed a clean hit into his stomach, knocking out 80% of his health.

"It's an enjoyable chase. But you will die here and now. There is no exception." Medusa summoned her spear back and raised it high.

"Of course, there is always an exception." A voice rang out attracting Medusa's attention. From the ground, roots sprouted and wrapped around her, binding her in place.

"Fear not. My master's friend. I am here under the master's order to save the day." Cu Chulainn appeared and confronted Medusa.

"I thought you were busy," Conan said.

"Yes. I am busy. In watching you guys." Cu Chulainn cast many spells at the same time. "Now, move that boy to a safe place. I will take care of this."

"You again."

"Yes. It's me, the lucky E Lancer. However, I am a caster now so that luck no longer works on me anymore. Prepare for your defeat." Caster said with a confident voice.

A pot dropped on his head out of nowhere.

His eyes turned dull like a corpse.

First point of view

"Tell me honestly, did you run into a pole or something?" I asked, smiling softly. My smile made his heart race.

"I-I… uh, n-no…" His mouth trembled, and his eyes were glued to my chest.

He swallowed hard.

"I see. You are healthy. Just need some proper rest. Next please." I shouted out loud to call the next student.

A new student stepped into the room.

He also liked the previous boy. The first thing he did was stare at my boobs.

I couldn't blame them for that.

I was once the boy so I understood what happened in their head. Besides, the body that I created is quite overkill for people in this world.

My long, smooth hair framed a stunning face, accented by a beauty mole that enhanced my looks even more. And my body? It was designed according to the golden ratio of the universe.

"This doll body is pretty useful," I mused, looking at the line of boys waiting their turn. Instead of turning them away, I played with their emotions, teasing them just enough. It was fun, a new experience for me.

"No wonder the original BB liked to toy with her master's feelings in FGO," I thought.

All games are fun. But the fun won't last long.

I fought the urge to knit the brows.

"So tell me. What kind of trouble bring you here?" I asked.

"I don't know. I just heard some rumors so I came here to see. You are more beautiful than what people say. Can you tell me more about you?" L said while scanning my expression with his dull eyes.

"That's a secret which I can't reveal."

"That's a pity. I want to know you more."

"Sorry. Secret is what makes a woman more beautiful." I said and waved my hands to call the next student.

"That makes me more interested in you. Time is short. I will take my leave. We will see again soon." he muttered as he left.

He looked at the reflection in the window, the beaming smile was still on my face without slight suspicion.

Only after he left completely that I let out a heavy breath.

I wasn't worried about him figuring out who I really was. Even if he did, he couldn't do anything about it - not with all of Japan behind him. And honestly, I wasn't here to watch the battle between L and Kira in 4K. I had some work that needed to be done. If I didn't work, how could I become stronger in the future? The number of characters that I owned stopped at six which was a bad sign for me.

For a gamer who played hundreds of games and owned millions of characters, this number is super small.

Not only that, I didn't have a strong character to carry.

"And about the rain witch. Or sunshine girl." I rubbed my chin and remembered one of the scenarios where humans died.

The whole world will be flooded and there is no land left for humans to live.

I calculated many possible futures and created many solutions.

The best one is making that girl trust me. If time is short then I will skip many steps and go straight at kidnapping her.

However, she was an easy target to persuade. There is no need to use extreme methods.

That is the reason why I came to this school so that I can persuade her more easily.

As for the detective side, it was unlucky for me that Kira learned at the same school as that girl.

I can ignore them for a time being but I won't completely underrate them.

I knew their technology was too weak to detect me but that didn't mean they didn't have their own way to detect me.

I didn't know how but I suspected L knew my true identity. What he needed right now was evidence.

"Detective in this world is so terrifying" I let out unconsciously.

"According to my calculation, there is a chance that I will be kidnapped by them tomorrow."

Imagining the scenario where I was surrounded by police, I felt quite excited.

"But that doesn't affect my work. I will keep doing my job and they keep finding a loophole in my daily work." I took out a kidnapping tool kit and inspected it.

I looked out of the window noticing the dark clouds covering the blue sky.

"Ah. I forget to bring an umbrella."
