Chapter 70 - Kira's response

"So. Twelves FBIs who investigated Kira were dead. That's not very good news for us." L said while eating strawberry cake.

"Yes. And they all have a painful death. Someone must leak their name to Kira." James Black had a sorrowful look on his face.

"It must be Raye Penber's fault," L said confidently.

"It's hard to believe it was him. However, I believe he is the cause of the problem. Raye Penber was the first one to die and he is also one of FBIs in the team. All twelve FBIs belonged to the Kira investigation team" James Black nodded his head in agreement.

It wasn't hard to guess who was the one leaking the confidential information. Even a blind person could point out who might have leaked the confidential information.

"Luckily, he didn't submit a list of people joining the second death game to Kira. Or else, this day next year will be our funeral. You don't want that to happen, right." L added.

"That is indeed a disaster for both of us. It's my fault for not foreseeing this" James said, seeming to be lost at his words.

L's gaze softened slightly. He understood James' feelings; it was a miracle Kira didn't know about the rest of them. As far as Kira knew, L was the only threat to him - the faceless detective who was after him. The rest remained hidden. Thankfully, Raye Penber hadn't been reckless enough to reveal them.

"Never mind, it had already become the past. For now, we should be more careful. I am glad that he wasn't too stupid or else I will attend the world's greatest novelist's funeral." L said, dismissing the past with a wave of his hand.

"However, we shouldn't waste his death like this. At least, he left some clue behind."

L ate another strawberry cake while trying to catch any suspect on the screen.

He watched the record nonstop just to narrow the range of suspects.

"So have you found anything from Raye Penber's death?" James Black asked, wanting to know the process

"Unfortunately, nothing has been found so far. But, I discovered something very interesting" L replayed the video.

"This time. Raye Penber was looking at someone on the train." L pointed at Raye Penber who was clutching his heart side in the video and confidently said.

"My guess is Kira. The target of our second death game."

"I see. We will go to take the passenger list of that train." James Black said before leaving L alone in the room.

"Thanks. You understand what I need. I will need that list for my investigation." L casually replied.

L re-watched the video which showed Raye Penber's death in the train station.

After walking outside the building, James Black immediately contacted his subordinates.

"Akai Shuichi. Can you lend me some help?" James Black asked with a gentle voice.

"I am busy here. The Black organization sends all forces to Japan. They want something there and I am still investigating their goal in the USA. So my time is short for now."

"About that. I know what they want. But I need you to meet me face to face so that I can say. It's not safe to exchange through phone." James Black said. He was still aware of BB's observation.

With BB's ability, she easily knew the Black organization's existence and their boss.

An AI that can collect, organize, and analyze data collecting from all around the world.

And the USA wanted that technology for themselves. No. To be more accurate, all countries wanted her for themselves.

"Okay. I will come." He answered accompanied by a gunshot in the background.

The phone hung up no longer after that.

As for Black organizations, James knew their appearance wasn't a good thing.

Without a spy in the Black organization, he can confirm what they want at the moment is Death Note.

He drew this conclusion due to his experience and his knowledge about fate.

Kira killed criminals nonstop making criminals all over the world die due to heart attacks. And their organization was full of bad guys. It couldn't be avoided that Kira killed them in a coincidence.

However, it was impressive that they knew how they died.

While James Black was immersing in his thoughts, his phone bell rang out waking him back to reality.

"Yes. I'm listening." He turned on the voice-changing tool to answer the call.

"Mr. Robin Mark," the other side said his fake name and told the problem. "Raye Penber's fiance has just come to the main HQ and demanded the answer of the culprit who killed her husband."

"And what have you told her?" James Black replied with a soft and kind voice.

"I said to her that her husband died due to heart failure. However, she didn't believe us and said that it was Kira who killed her husband. No matter how we tried to persuade her, she didn't believe us."

"Did she do anything extreme?"

"Ah no. She just left silently in the end. Albeit disappointing at us."

"I see. Keep an eye on her. I am feeling she is going to meet something bad." James Black said, containing a sort of sadness.

"I understand."

"Good night" James Black hung up the phone and looked at the starry sky.

Killing people with their names, Kira will become an impending storm for this fragile society.

A human. Trying to play a god. Accompanied by a shinigami.

Who is Kira? It's still a mystery.

No matter how he thought, the only advantage they have is human force.

In order to find Kira, they had to sacrifice some life.

James Black didn't like this but he had no choice. He was sure that BB knew who is Kira but she would never tell them a single word.

The appearance of supreme illegal AI. The virtual death game. And now, a shinigami death god.

What's next?

An alien invaded the earth !!!

This question. He doesn't want to know the answer.

"The world is full of mystery and humans are so small. How can we face it?"

Rubbing his head, he fell into deep sleep without being aware of it.

1st point of view

Somewhere in Germany.

An abandoned factory came alive after many years of not working.

The cold metal of machinery groaned to life. Gears turned, and conveyor belts hummed, transporting countless small parts—arms, hands, legs—along the assembly line.

Each piece, meticulously crafted, traveled toward a massive machine at the center.

After entering, the machine released a dense steam blocking the eyesight.

"Finally, my effort is paid. I have a physical body of my own." A girlish voice rang out from the steam.

When the steam dispersed, a lustful body was revealed.

"From 2D becomes 3D. It's so refreshed. With this physical body, I can act more freely and easily. No longer have to interact through online meetings." I inspected the whole body which looked the same in the digital world.

"It's a pity that this body is made from normal steel." I sighed. It wasn't quite the powerful, invincible form I envisioned. But it would do. For now.

"Alright, time is short. Let's go say hello to my friends. They must be so excited to see me"

With a flick of my wrist, a card materialized in my hand, glowing faintly in the dim light.

"Dream summon."

In an instant, the space around me exploded in a dazzling light, blinding everything in its wake.

When the light subsided, my clothes had changed, transforming into the elaborate and unmistakable outfit of Medusa, the heroic spirit in Type-Moon. The sharp edges, the flowing fabric—it was all perfect.

"So this is called transformation in Type-Moon world." I inspected the outfit. "So cringe. But it's not cringe as much as Sailor Moon World which will make you nude for 2 seconds."

I waved my hand, a small current wind blowing dust off the ground. Many small bolts were carried away by the wind.

"Now, let's test Noble Phantasm." I raised my hand towards the thin air and pronounced the name of Medusa's horse.

"Pegasus," I called out softly, extending my hand. From the thin air, a white horse emerged, stepping gracefully into view. Its coat shimmered, ethereal and pure.

"Good boy. Or girl. I'm not really sure about the gender of mythical creatures," I mused, rubbing its mane affectionately. Pegasus snorted in response, its wings twitching eagerly.

"Anyway, we are going to save this world from the impending doom," I said, mounting the majestic creature in one swift motion. "To the sky, my partner."

Pegasus let out a fierce cry, and with a single powerful beat of its wings, we soared into the sky turning into a shooting star.

At the same time, people looked up to the sky and saw the stars. They made a wish.

They wished the world would become more peaceful.
