In the prison, there was a chilling atmosphere.
Yan Yuchen stared at the large eyeball on the ground for a while, carefully picked it up, and threw it back.
"Thank you, young one," spoke the hoarse voice from inside.
Yan Yuchen, curious, calmly entered the cell.
In a dark corner, a creature with an unusually large head sat.
Its body was frail, like a thin rod supporting the round, large head. The face, covered in bumps, had one eye remaining, glowing with an eerie light.
With the other eye in its hand, the creature frowned and extended it to Yan Yuchen, saying, "Young one, do you want to eat? It's delicious, just give me a sip of spiritual water."
Yan Yuchen observed and shook his head, "Sorry, I don't have spiritual water."
The creature, disappointed, lowered its head.
As Yan Yuchen was about to leave, the creature suddenly raised its head and said, "Young one, don't rush. No spiritual water is fine. How about giving me your blood? I want to drink blood."
Suddenly, it smashed the eyeball against the cell door!
"Bang!" A muffled sound, and the door closed automatically!
The creature jumped up, crazily attacking Yan Yuchen with bloodlust in its remaining eye.
Yan Yuchen stood firm, muscles tense, and when the creature lunged with sharp fangs, he struck back with glowing fists.
"Snap!" A burst of light!
Caught off guard, the creature's facial bones shattered, and it crashed into the wall, then fell to the ground.
"You... you're not a handyman!"
The creature, with a bloodied face, looked at him with resentment, realizing it had been deceived. It had been imprisoned for years, and each time, a new servant would arrive, only to meet a tragic end in the cell due to their lack of cultivation.
Today, the creature is in pain and urgently needs spiritual water.
Lacking spiritual water, fresh blood could barely substitute. It knew a servant had died yesterday, and a new one would come today, so it waited.
It never expected the new servant it had been eagerly awaiting would possess magical powers, evident from the glow on his fists. Feeling deceived, it believed humans were intentionally playing with it or testing it.
"You wretched human scum destined for hell! I curse the destruction of your kind, never to be reincarnated!"
The creature roared in resentment.
Yan Yuchen, cautious, opened the cell door, then quickly retreated.
As the door locked, he breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, his soul cultivation kept his mental strength strong.
If he had panicked during the sudden attack, turning to escape, the creature would have bitten his neck the moment he opened the door, turning him into a lifeless corpse.
"Although these creatures have restrictions in their bodies, preventing the use of supernatural powers, their bodies are robust. A slight mistake could lead to a fate similar to the previous servants."
Wiping sweat from his forehead, Yan Yuchen stabilized himself and opened the third cell.
After the recent attack, he was extremely careful, walking into the cell with heightened alertness.
A refreshing fragrance filled the air.
The cell was quiet, exuding tranquility, unlike the previous chaos and violence.
Sitting beneath the mottled walls was a girl in a white fox fur coat, hands hugging her knees as she contemplated.
Behind her, nine fluffy tails spread out like a snowy blanket, enveloping her delicate figure.
The girl's cheeks were pale, her appearance exquisite, with a naturally enchanting fox-like charm.
She raised her mesmerizing narrow eyes, looking at Yan Yuchen, and said, "New handyman?"
Yan Yuchen sensed a familiar aura from her but couldn't recall where he had encountered it. After a moment of hesitation, he nodded as a response.
The girl stared at him and asked, "Do you have spiritual water?"
Immediately after asking, she shook her head self-mockingly, "Of course not. You're just a small servant; how could you have such a thing?"
Although the girl appeared quiet, Yan Yuchen remained vigilant and couldn't help asking, "What is spiritual water? Why do you all need it?"
The girl gave a bitter smile, saying, "It's useless to tell you. With your status, whether you know or not doesn't make a difference. That thing is not something a mere servant like you is qualified to receive."
Seeing no common ground in the conversation, Yan Yuchen prepared to leave. The girl sighed and said, "Finally, someone to talk to. I'll tell you. Spiritual water is clear water infused with the aura of heaven and earth. We have restrictions planted inside us that flare up at intervals, causing intense pain and damaging our cultivation. Only spiritual water can alleviate it."
Yan Yuchen nodded, pondered for a moment, and asked, "Then why do they keep imprisoning you? They could just kill you, putting an end to it all."
The girl glanced at him with a hint of mockery in her eyes, saying, "Do you think we're as useless as a small servant like you? They keep us imprisoned to continually exploit the treasures hidden within us, gather information about the demon realm, and threaten us to sacrifice ourselves in times of danger. Hmph, humans may be cunning and malicious, but one has to admit, their minds are much more clever than us demons."
As Yan Yuchen was about to agree, the girl looked at him again and said, "Of course, useless servants like you are not included."
Yan Yuchen frowned, feeling displeased. "You demons are so impolite, always calling me a servant. Have I been calling you a demon all this time?"
The girl responded, "You are calling me a demon right now."
Yan Yuchen snorted, ready to leave and close the door. He had to continue cleaning each cell; the task was demanding, and he couldn't waste time with this fox spirit.
Just as he was about to turn away, the nine-tailed fox suddenly said, "Wait."
She then slightly removed her fox fur, revealing a pair of perfectly smooth and white shoulders.
Her eyes were watery, and she lightly bit her lip, her voice becoming tender, "Young master, do you desire a woman?"
Without hesitation, Yan Yuchen nodded, "Yes, I do."
Upon hearing his response, the girl's face showed a hint of shyness, her eyes filled with charm. Just as she was about to continue seducing him, he interrupted seriously, "But you're not a woman, and you're definitely not human, so..."
He waved his hand, exited the cell, and said, "Goodbye."
"You!"
The enchanting expression on the girl's face froze in an instant.
