Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: The past 2

After a week, Emily and Chris were done with their project. Neither one of them talked about the kiss that happened. It was

better that way. Although, Emily was seriously confused. Does Chris like her? But then maybe it was just him getting lost in the moment.

"If we don't get an A then there shall be war. I've never put my heart in a school work like this. And it's all thanks to you." She gave him a smile. They were currently at his house, finishing up.

"We'll have to put up a good presentation, that's when we'll be assured an A."

"Yeah." His gaze was transfixed on her and it made her body go tense.

"Emily." He got closer to her, holding her cheeks in both hands. Emily held her breath, not knowing what he wanted to do.

"I like you Emily. I know I might sound dumb but ever since the day we kissed, I couldn't stop thinking about holding you and kissing those soft lips of yours again." His thumb caressed the bottom of her lips and Emily unconsciously closed her eyes.

"Really?"

"Really. I want to get to know you. That is if you let me." Emily could only nod. He smiled and pressed their lips together in a searing kiss. Emily clung onto him, forgetting about the rest of the world.

A few days later;

OMG girl! What did I ever do? Why didn't you tell me!" We were at our usual corner during lunch. I then shushed her.

"You went camping, remember?"

"But I've been back since yesterday. Holy weasels, he really said that." I smiled sheepishly

"Word for word."

"Tell me, how did you manage to woo him without my help? You're not the Emily I know. What happened to my sweet ,innocent Emily! Emily almost choked on her food.

"I didn't woo him! Why would I need to do that?"

"I don't know. But seriously Emily, please be careful. Chris might be cute and all, but you know that he's known to break girls' hearts.

"But he told me he liked me! And the way he kissed me was so sweet and nice. He can't be lying."

"His feelings may be real. But just watch it ok? And if he tries to force you to do anything, just kick him between the legs just like I thought you would." Emily's mouth dropped open in shock.

"Yeah Courtney, now relax." The girls giggled lightly as they continued their meal.

A week later;

Emily was seated in her algebra class when someone sat in the seat next to her.

"Hey you."

"Hey. I never knew you were in algebra."

"I usually skip. It hurts my brain. But now you're here, I'll manage the torture." She giggled.

"If you keep skipping classes, you'll flunk the semester."

"I know." The teacher strode in and Emily turned her attention to him. The teacher ordered them to open their textbooks to a particular chapter.

Chris then wrote something down on a piece of paper and slid it to her. She gave him a curious look before opening it up.

"You look pretty when you're all serious." Emily rolled her eyes and tore the paper into shreds. She then sent a glare to him. He just smirked and sent another one.

"Do you have to be such a fun spoiler? Anyways, I wanted to ask if you wanted to come over today? I want to spend some time with you." Emily looked at his side and gave him a nod. He smiled and turned his attention back to the teacher. When class was over, he dragged her out of the class.

"Come on."

"Where are we going? We'll miss class."

"Can you just chill? You won't miss class. You still have ten minutes." He then dragged her to their school's field where all of their matches were held. They sat on one of the benches.

"Why are we here?"

"Algebra was gruesome, needed air. But most importantly, I wanted to be alone with you." His body was stretched along two rows of benches. His elbows holding him up and his legs on the third row.

"And so we're ditching class?"

"I told you, you'll make it to class."

"What about you?"

"You don't need to be worried about me." He brought his hand and caressed her cheek to her jaw. Emily shivered slightly at his touch.

Emily wondered what they were. Was she his girlfriend? But he hadn't asked her yet. Or did he think that it was obvious enough?

"Although I don't mind." He then sat up and held her hand.

"You're a gift to this world. So sweet and innocent." Emily didn't know why he said that, but she didn't brood over it. Instead, she just smiled and leaned in to give him a small kiss. But Chris didn't let go that easily.

"Hmm, I have to go." He pulled back and kissed the shell of her ear.

"Alright." He pulled her up and they walked back, hands Interlaced.

When Emily finally got to her next class, which was biology, she saw her best friend who was tapping her feet silently. Courtney let out a sigh of relief when she saw the person she was waiting for.

"Where the hell were you? What if the teacher had arrived? I was so worried. You've never been this late to class before. What happened?" Courtney rushed her with words and Emily had to slow her down.

"Easy Court, I was just with Chris?" Courtney frowned.

"So he was the one who made you late?"

"He hasn't even arrived yet."

"So? He's already being a distraction!"

"Courtney, relax. It won't happen again." Courtney nodded. But she was worried about her friend. She was happy for her, but she didn't want her to get distracted. Or worse, get her heart broken. Emily is her best friend and she wouldn't let some guy try to ruin or hurt her. Even though Chris has no reason to do so. She was just worried that her sweet and naive friend could get blinded by some stupid love. She needed to watch out for that Chris guy, for the sake of her friend.

At Chris's house, Emily decided to help Chris with some maths questions . Although he was proving to be a stubborn student.

"Chris, you can't get it if you don't listen."

"I am, I'm staring at you ain't I?" She sighed.

"Alright, we've done enough. At least you got two out of ten." His eyes widened.

"Two out of a ten? Are you for real?"

"It's right here." She pointed to the paper with all of his answers and their markings. He frowned.

"This is why I hate maths." Emily laughed hard

"Without maths, you ain't graduating." He groaned loudly, a curse escaping his mouth

"I know. Let's forget about the killer subject. Wanna watch a movie?"

"Sure." He put on a movie for them to watch and Emily sat next to him. Within the next twenty minutes, they were already cuddling.

"This movie sucks." She squinted her eyebrows at him.

"Really? I don't think it's that bad."

"It's not horrible, but I've seen way better. Why don't we try to pass time in another way."

"How?" Emily asked curiously. A smile tugged the corner of his lips.

"I could show you." He smashed his lips against hers, making Emily gasp. He gently pushed her onto her back and he crawled on top of her, their lips never parting.

"Hmm, you're driving me insane Emily." Chris trailed kisses down her neck to her collarbone. Emily froze, not knowing what he wanted to do.

"How can you smell this good?" He mumbled against her neck. Emily swallowed a hard lump when she felt his hand go under her shirt, stroking her belly.

Emily didn't know why but she didn't like his kisses on her body. They just felt so wrong on her skin. Her senses were sending her warning signs and she wasn't going to ignore them. His hands then moved to her hip, groping them.

"Chris, stop."

"Oh come on baby, don't act so coy with me now." Emily frowned a little. She shoved at his chest and sighed in relief when he moved away.

"I'm not acting coy. I'm not ready to be with you yet." Chris's eyebrows furrowed.

"Wait, you mean…"

"Yes, I'm a virgin. Is that wrong?"

"No, no. I just…never mind. I won't try to force you." She stared at his face, trying to read him. But she couldn't read anything.

"Do you want me to take you home?" She nodded. He drove her home, leaving Emily to wonder if her relationship with Chris was worth it.
