Year 2006.
It was a good and pleasant day at Jujutsu High School. The weather was hot, and the sun made the day even warmer, to the point that two students at the school, despite their inhuman qualities, were no match for the summer sun.
Shoko Ieiri and Suguru Geto were sitting under a tree, relaxing while drinking juice. Both had decided to take a break, concluding that the sun was too much for them and decided to postpone their training for another day.
"Suguru..." said Shoko, as beads of sweat ran down her face. Her head rested on Suguru Geto's shoulder, who remained unfazed by Shoko's playful behavior.
"I'm dying from this heat, Suguru. I feel like my soul is leaving my body..." Suguru shook his head, knowing that Shoko's words were meant to get his attention.
In the background, while they were spending time, the sound of an intense training session could be heard. A young man with long, bright yellow hair, which even in the dark would reflect light, caught Shoko's attention and made her feel fatigued just by looking at him.
He was a handsome young man with a gentle smile. His well-maintained appearance and defined physique made him seem like a temptation to many girls, almost competing in beauty with the white-haired boy he was training with.
"How long do you think they've been at it?" Shoko asked, watching as the white-haired boy and the yellow-haired one exchanged devastating blows.
Geto studied the movements of the two boys as they fought, a smile spreading across his face. "No idea. When I got here, it was 1 PM, but they already looked like they'd been fighting for at least another hour."
Geto continued observing the fight while Shoko's eyes widened in surprise.
"That is certainly interesting..."Â
Shoko commented as she watched the blonde take a direct hit to the face from the white-haired boy but quickly recovered to continue fighting.
Geto sighed, maintaining his smile.
Minato Namikaze was someone intriguing. He was a young man without a clan, born outside the world of Jujutsu. He had no one backing him, no one teaching him, no one knew of him, and he was certainly not someone who stood out beyond his physique and good looks. Geto was certain that if this had been the old days of Jujutsu, during the peak of the Three Great Clans, Minato would have been dismissed as a mere commoner, unworthy of any opportunity to shine.
However, being a commoner didn't hinder him at all—quite the opposite. He was considered a genius. Not on the same level as Satoru Gojo, but still a genius with enough intelligence and potential to possibly reach Gojo's level in the future.
Without belonging to a clan and with no one to teach him about the Jujutsu world, Minato managed to make a name for himself within the Jujutsu community. His skills and abilities made him unique.
He was an all-around sorcerer excelling in many areas: strength, combat intelligence, speed, and techniques. In these four domains, Minato was extraordinarily powerful. And as for his techniques—explosive seals, storage seals, a cursed technique that allowed him to clone himself? To summon fire? Water? Manipulate air? Honestly, to Geto, he seemed like an avatar. His speed and strength were remarkable. To be fair, not everyone could go toe-to-toe with none other than Satoru Gojo in hand-to-hand combat for over three hours, especially considering Gojo's punches were far from ordinary.
The fight happening now between Gojo and Minato was purely focused on cursed energy, without any techniques involved. The only technique Gojo was using was "Blue" to enhance his punches, and Minato was enduring them as if it were nothing.
As for Minato's cursed technique, little to nothing had been revealed about it. In simple terms, Minato's primary ability lay in his capacity to teleport or move from point A to point B almost instantaneously.
It was a very simple ability, something you would expect from a commoner. If he had been born into the Zenin family, they probably would have despised him for such a weak technique. But things got interesting when you added to the mix the way Minato used it—his mysterious techniques, combined with his ingenuity and the ways he elevated his technique, made him a fascinating individual.
Minato earned a nickname during his time at Jujutsu High. While Gojo was "The Strongest" and Geto was "The Curse Manipulator" more commonly known as "The Second Strongest," Minato had gained a completely different nickname. Instead of being known as something like "The Third Strongest," according to Gojo, he had become, in the eyes of ordinary sorcerers and those who knew him, "The Yellow Flash." His ability to use positive energy to channel it through his special three-pronged kunai and the speed at which he moved with those kunai had left an impression on every sorcerer he had helped.
Many said that before he left, a yellow flash marked his farewell.
What Geto believed was that Minato moved so quickly, even for him, that what remained was a residual image of his hair, which people associated with his technique.
Minato was a Grade 1 sorcerer according to what Geto knew. However, if you asked him, he would say he deserved the Special Grade or, at the very least, had the potential to obtain it.
Gojo moved to the right, dodging a palm strike from Minato, who immediately tried to retreat. Noticing his movement, Gojo quickly shifted, taking the blind spot behind Minato and raising his hand in a motion, extending his fingers to strike Minato's nape and knock him out.
The blow landed on Minato, making him burst into smoke, a log falling in his place. Gojo knew this in advance and quickly turned, noticing Minato behind him, who was about to punch him directly in the face. However, despite being very fast, Gojo could still track him.
He immediately formed a block with his arms between his face and Minato's fist, which disappeared before hitting the block. Gojo was momentarily surprised before being caught off guard just below his high-arm guard. Minato threw an uppercut that threatened to hit Gojo's jaw.
Instinctively, due to the speed of the incoming uppercut, Gojo activated his Infinity, causing him to lose.
With a smile, seeing how his strike was stopped cold, Minato let himself collapse to the ground, exhausted but victorious.
Gojo let his arms drop and collapsed face-first onto the ground, exhaling in exhaustion. A confident yet kind smile appeared on his lips as he looked at the blonde writhing on the floor. "My first round lost in all this time, huh?" They had been fighting for three hours, and this was the first round Minato had won out of 20 matches. Gojo had won 10 in the first two hours, and in the last hour, Minato had won 6 while Gojo added 3 more victories. This was the last one Minato had managed to win.
The rules were simple: no use of cursed techniques, only cursed energy and one technique. Gojo chose Blue Flash to enhance his attacks, while Minato opted for Substitution.
Gojo was impressed. Minato learned like a sponge and adapted to his attacks quickly, launching effective and precise counterattacks without making unnecessary movements. He was truly someone with terrifyingly impressive potential.
Shoko entered the room calmly, holding two towels and two bottles of water. She tossed them to both fighters, who were panting on the floor, while Minato seemed to have lost his voice from exhaustion.
"The principal wants to see you both. He already took Suguru and told me that if you two didn't show up in five minutes, he'd cut your balls off and leave me in charge of doing it."
Minato immediately felt a chill run down his spine as he saw the malicious smile on Shoko's face. She pulled out an extra cold water bottle and opened it. Minato, thinking she intended to drink it herself, relaxed, believing it was a false alarm.
But he couldn't have been more wrong. His sixth sense kicked in like a cat that hates cold water. Shoko hurled the bottle's contents at him, intending to make him convulse from the shock.
As Minato's enhanced reaction speed allowed him to see the water falling toward him in slow motion, he realized he couldn't move. His body was sore, and his mind fatigued. However, driven by the fear of losing his dignity to this attack, he managed to release an overwhelming burst of cursed energy from his body. With a desperate flash, he teleported to his room at the last moment, leaving a yellow streak behind as he disappeared.
As soon as he appeared, Minato crashed into his nightstand, unable to control his body due to his exhausted state. A tired laugh escaped his lips as he noticed the lamp that had been illuminating his nightstand had fallen to the floor. From the drawer of the nightstand, he pulled out a three-pronged kunai and thanked the heavens for leaving marks and kunai scattered all around the school.
Shoko stared at the now-empty spot for a moment, indifferent, before her gaze shifted toward Gojo, who had a shit-eating grin on his face. Shoko glanced at the remaining water in the bottle, then at Gojo, then back at the bottle, and finally at Gojo again.
Even though she knew it wouldn't work, she still went ahead and threw the water at him, which only splashed harmlessly against Gojo's Infinity.
Gojo mocked her, which made her sigh.
After her sigh, Shoko left the room where Gojo and Minato had been training moments earlier, but not before commenting, "The principal wants to see you both at the basketball courts."
She said this as she walked off to some corner of the school to smoke.
...
When Gojo arrived at the basketball courts, he found Suguru shooting hoops. Suguru had a bored expression as he continued to make baskets, distracting himself with practice.
"Where's the old man?" Gojo asked in a mocking and shameless tone as he approached Suguru to join his friend in some distraction.
With a sigh, the moralist—better known as Suguru Geto, a.k.a. his best friend—sighed again, as if disappointed in the person he called his friend. "When will you learn to respect your elders, Satoru?"
Geto shook his head as he passed the basketball to Satoru, who simply rolled his eyes.
Gojo thought that sigh seemed more like that of an old-school father disappointed after realizing his son was a slacker and good-for-nothing. Satoru himself would have said it was more like a father disappointed after finding out his son was... well, you know.
Satoru passed the ball back to Geto, who caught it and dunked it into the hoop with force.
"Why should I respect that old man?" Satoru commented with a smirk, planning to get under Suguru's skin a little. "Old man Yaga's just a grumpy old coot. I'm not going to respect someone like that; it's just stupid. He's gonna make me angry. Didn't you know anger is contagious?"
Satoru laughed at Suguru as he watched him simply stare back at him blankly.
"You know, he's always mad. I just hope that when I get old, I don't turn into a grumpy old coot like him or a boring moralist like you. That would ruin my beauty," Satoru said, lifting his hair, lowering his glasses, and sticking out his tongue to mock Suguru.
"It's normal to respect our elders. Even though he has a rather grumpy attitude, he's someone with much more experience than us and greater knowledge, not to mention being the principal of the prestigious Tokyo Jujutsu High," said Suguru while he noticed out of the corner of his eye how Shoko sneaked in through the door.
Gojo looked at Shoko, who had calmly sat in a corner while smoking. "Shoko, did the principal call you too?" asked Suguru curiously as he observed Shoko, who only tilted her head in response.
"No, I just came to snoop around, that's all," she said, taking a drag from her cigarette.
"Smoking is bad for your lungs, you know?" said Suguru, to which Shoko only responded with a nod and a shrug.
"Honestly, it makes her look cooler," said Gojo, to which Geto only frowned.
Through the door, another member entered. The distinctive yellow-haired, clanless boy had arrived at the entrance, wearing his standard high-collared Jujutsu uniform, in a relaxed posture, with a lollipop in his mouth. Lazily, he balanced one of his signature three-pronged kunai.
Gojo smiled at the presence of the other member, whom he was beginning to consider a friend. "Well, well, if it isn't Minato," said Gojo, tossing the basketball to Minato, who scanned the empty basketball court with his eyes, noticing Shoko smoking in a secluded and bored corner.
Seeing the ball flying toward him out of the corner of his eye, he simply caught it with one hand while smiling. "Am I late?"
He commented as he tossed the ball back and went to sit next to Shoko.
"Just in time," said Gojo, catching the ball again. "It's pretty funny how you're identical to Naruto's dad, huh? You're the same but in real life. Are you a reincarnation or what?" Gojo always found it curious—not only was he a cheap copy of Minato Namikaze, but they had the same name and nickname. Too much of a coincidence.
Minato simply rolled his eyes and, using his body flicker technique, reappeared beside Shoko, who didn't seem surprised at all. She could never tell the difference between when Minato used his teleportation technique, which according to him was called Hiraishin No Jutsu. It was so damn fast that, at first, it caught her off guard and scared her, but over time, it became more common.
Sitting next to her in comfortable silence, they simply watched the duo messing around with each other.
Minato then sank into his thoughts.
He had reincarnated as the Yondaime Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. His original name was John, that simple. When he died, it was because he was mugged, and a hard hit against the edge of a sidewalk left him in a coma, leading to his death shortly after.
When he died, a mysterious god was waiting for him. John, being the experienced otaku who read fanfiction, already knew what was happening. He was given three random abilities and a character to reincarnate as in the chosen world.
Honestly, he had higher hopes. He wanted to be Madara Uchiha or Hashirama Senju, but to his misfortune, he got Minato Namikaze (Fourth Ninja War version). He was a Hokage, not weak, and even though he had Kurama inside him, it wasn't enough for a world full of lunatics.
But adjusting to what he was given, he trusted that the three random abilities would give him some hope.
Perfect manipulation of cursed energy. Affinity with all elements. Sage Body.
He didn't know what the last one was, but after an explanation, he learned it was a body with enhanced physical capabilities that grew during the first 15 years of life and would then only increase by 1.5% per year, along with extreme affinity to natural energy.
It was beneficial, but he still doubted it was enough.
And the world was JJK, of which he only knew up to the Shibuya Incident due to its popularity.
From there, he was reincarnated into a normal family whose parents died when he was 10 years old. At that same age, since his parents were ordinary sorcerers, he was ultimately taken in by Principal Masamichi Yaga at their request.
Yaga, knowing that Minato's parents weren't sorcerers from prominent families and weren't particularly powerful but were close friends of his, initially thought of steering Minato away from the Jujutsu world. But seeing his undeniable attraction to it, his ability to see cursed spirits, and his undeniable talent and intelligence, he had no choice but to teach the boy the basic concepts of Jujutsu and let Minato handle things as best as he could.
Interrupted by the growing cursed energy and the increasing desire to fight in the air, Minato found himself in the middle of a fight about to begin where Minato and Geto were about to face off, with Shoko trying on Satoru's glasses. It seemed like they were talking about whether or not Sorcery worked.
But luckily, Yaga interrupted them, which immediately made Shoko get up.
"Time to run!" Shoko said with a comical expression and darted out of the basketball court door, leaving Satoru and Suguru with an angry Yaga and Minato, who was walking casually, not wanting to draw attention and revealing that he wanted to leave, sneaking out like a rat.
Seeing Minato's behavior and how Satoru and Suguru acted as if they weren't going to destroy the campus with their fights, Yaga frowned, but then calmed down as he saw how the young ones stretched carelessly.
"They've assigned a mission to you two," Yaga said, causing Satoru and Suguru to deflate with boredom, making Yaga sigh in exhaustion and glance sideways at the door that was opening with a blonde-haired person about to escape. "You too, Minato. They want you there as well, so don't even try."Â
Upon hearing Yaga's voice, Minato immediately fell into depression, feeling like he was being dragged back into this mess with those two crazies.
