Chapter 24 - You think you are so superior to them

"So what are you going to do to me, huh?" Alex asked defiantly. Listening to him, Victoria laughed, "What a funny boy indeed. Lara, open the cell." Hearing her order, Lara started removing the lock from the cell. Seeing three unknown humans, Luna hid herself in the blanket, overcome with fear.

As the cell opened, Luna's trembling intensified, especially with the ominous presence of Victoria and her companions. Luna felt more like garbage than an individual in their eyes.

Victoria's group began to discuss their race and expressed their disdain for beastmen, deeming them disgusting and asserting that they should all die. They delved into the topic of beast representatives and how they were purposefully ignored, fueling a growing sense of animosity. The conversation pivoted to the council's decision to kill Alex, and they declared their intention to escort him to the death room.

Amidst the hostile dialogue, Alex couldn't help but feel the weight of the impending doom. He exchanged glances with Nana, who remained silent, her expression unreadable.

"You think you are so superior to them, huh?" Alex challenged, his voice tinged with frustration. The air grew thick with tension as Victoria and Alex engaged in a verbal spar. Each word exchanged was like a sword thrust, carrying the weight of conflicting ideologies.

Victoria, maintaining her composed demeanor, countered Alex's arguments with a cool and calculated tone. The discussion evolved into a clash of perspectives, highlighting the deep-seated prejudices and power dynamics at play.

As the verbal sparring continued, Alex's gaze shifted from Victoria to Nana, searching for any sign of remorse or hesitation. However, Nana's face remained impassive, revealing nothing.

The chapter concluded with the room filled with charged emotions and unspoken threats. The fate of Alex hung in the balance, teetering between the decisions of the council and the intentions of Victoria's group. The air was thick with uncertainty, and the impending encounter in the death room loomed ominously over them.
