Chapter 130: Reason
The next morning, Uzukage arrived at his office looking not only healthy but also younger, causing a bit of confusion with the guards. Some of the guards, who had never seen him in his younger form, tried to stop him from entering his own office.
"Stop, this is the Uzukage's office," said one of the guards.
Uzukage chuckled. "I am the Uzukage."
"Shut up, kid! This is not a place for you to play," warned the guard.
"Well, I'll forgive you since you've never seen my younger face," replied Uzukage with a smile.
This only made the guard angrier, and he moved to detain Uzukage, attacking him. Although Uzukage knew the guard was only doing his job, he thought to himself, Shouldn't he be able to sense my chakra signature?
Uzukage effortlessly parried the guard's attack, causing a commotion that quickly attracted nearby shinobi.
"What's going on?" asked one of the elders as they arrived.
"There's someone trying to enter the Uzukage's office," explained the guard.
"Huh? Who dares?" The elder's eyes widened when he finally saw Uzukage.
"Uzukage-sama!" the elder shouted, loud enough to silence everyone around.
"Hiruko-sama, is this really the Uzukage?" asked the guard, confused.
"Yes, based on his chakra signature and his appearance, this is indeed the Uzukage," confirmed the elder, before turning to ask, "Uzukage-sama, how did you become young again?"
"Hahaha! Thanks to Setsuna, who created a new fūinjutsu that can make old people look younger," Uzukage explained, pointing to his forehead. "This is the 100 Healing Mark, which not only heals the body but also revitalizes old cells, making me look younger."
Everyone was left dumbfounded. "Really?"
News of the rejuvenated Uzukage quickly spread throughout Uzushiogakure, especially shocking the elders who had known him for so long. Fortunately, it was Setsuna who had recreated the 100 Healing Mark and sealed it on Uzukage's forehead after much hard work.
While everyone was happy to see a healthy Uzukage again, the Uzukage himself suddenly decided to abdicate and pass the title of Uzukage to Setsuna.
"Father, I'm sorry, but I have to decline," said Setsuna.
"No! You promised me," Uzukage retorted.
"I did promise, but I also said 'not right now,'" Setsuna reminded him.
"So, when?" asked Uzukage, exasperated.
"Father, I want to raise my children first. Give me about 30 years before I take on the position of Uzukage," replied Setsuna.
"Thirty years? That's way too long!" exclaimed Uzukage.
"Alright, then. How about 29 years?" Setsuna smirked.
"You brat!" Uzukage said, playfully trying to hit him.
"Ah! The old man has gone mad!" Setsuna joked as he dodged the playful hit, only to stop when he noticed his daughter watching.
"Kids shouldn't be learning this," Setsuna commented.
"Papa is naughty!" his daughter giggled. "Grandpa is hitting Papa!"
Taking advantage of the distraction, Uzukage flicked Setsuna's forehead.
---The Daimyo---
It has been two years since Hiruzen became Hokage. He enjoys this position, but at the same time, it has not been easy to maintain his authority as Hokage.
Various clans have been putting pressure on him, and Uchiha Katori has distanced herself from the rest of the group.
As a result, Hiruzen decided to create the Elder Council, led by his friends Homura, Koharu, and Danzo. They are known among the people of Blue Star as the "Konoha F4." Torifu was not included in the Elder Council because he belongs to the Akimichi clan.
The addition of the Elder Council has helped Hiruzen in making decisions, even though it has reduced his overall power.
Danzo, however, suggested harming Katori, especially after she awakened the Wood Style kekkei genkai, which originally belonged to the Senju clan.
But Katori was no fool. She announced to the Senju clan that she was willing to marry one of them. This foiled Danzo's plans, and after hearing from Setsuna about the origins of ninja, the Uchiha clan decided to support Katori.
Setsuna's visits were always kept secret, known only to the elders and clan leaders. He even created a fūinjutsu that could hide his chakra, it is so powerful that even Uzumaki Mito didn't sense his presence in Konoha.
Additionally, Setsuna produced an authentic scroll that looked very old and the content inside recorded the tragedy of Asura and Indra. With this, the elders finally reconciled with the Senju clan and let go of their long-held grudges.
The Uchiha clan couldn't be directly targeted because their influence had grown by recruiting civilians, members of the Aburame clan, and the Yamanaka clan into their police forces. Additionally, they are not referred to as the "Uchiha Police Forces" like the original story but as "Konoha Police," which reflected the wider involvement of other clans and civilians in the force.
This change made it more difficult for those who wanted to attack or undermine the Uchiha, as they were integrated into Konoha's broader community structure and not solely an isolated clan force.
Despite this, Danzo constantly questioned Katori's loyalty to the village and how the Uchiha clan changed after gaining the Mangekyou Sharingan. This, of course, left Hiruzen feeling uncertain.
Fortunately for him, the Daimyo was highly supportive of Hiruzen as a Hokage. However, Hiruzen was unaware that the Daimyo's support stemmed from his subservient attitude.
The late Hokages had not shown respect towards the late Daimyo, they only give an order and Daimyo need to fulfill it. But with Hiruzen, everything changed. He treated the Daimyo like a superior, making the treacherous Daimyo quite happy.
It was as if a beggar were meeting a rich person—Konoha was now the one seeking support, and the Daimyo was in control.
This Daimyo was not like the original Daimyo from the story. He was far more treacherous and evil. In the past, he had been suppressed by Senju ninjas, preventing him from showing his true nature.
But after Hiruzen became Hokage, the Daimyo no longer needed to heed Konoha's requests. Instead, it was Konoha seeking his help.
He also felt indebted to the Uchiha clan for killing the previous Daimyo, which allowed him to become the new Daimyo of the Land of Fire—thanks to Uchiha Madara.
---Setsuna---
There is a reason why Setsuna didn't want to become Uzukage. If he became Uzukage, all his plans would go haywire. In order to attract enemies, he needed to remain hidden from the public, especially from Konoha.
If Konoha saw a young, healthy, and strong Uchiha Setsuna who had lived since the Warring States Era, it would mean that Uzushiogakure was incredibly valuable and worth defending by Konoha. He need legitimate reason to start his own war.
Because of this, he never showed his face to the public after the First Great Ninja War. Only those in Uzushiogakure knew about him. The other villages assumed that, like Mito, he had grown weak.
