Chapter 2: Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan
In this era, no one knows how to activate the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, and because of this, many men in the Uchiha clan have become blind.
This has further reduced the number of people who can fight against the Senju clan. In the original timeline, Uchiha Madara gained the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan after his brother's death.
He was shocked when he saw his eye pattern evolve to another level, and his eyes no longer strained like before. But this time, it was Setsuna who would gain the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.
Anticipating this, Setsuna felt scared when the Uchiha medic prepared to gouge his eyes out.
"This hurts... Are you sure about this, Setsuna?" the medic asked for confirmation.
"I'm sure, do it now before I regret it," said Setsuna.

After the surgery, the medic found that Setsuna's eyes were not functioning properly. For some reason, Tekka's eyes did not merge with Setsuna's body, even though for other Uchiha, the eyes typically function well after just a few minutes.
Additionally, Setsuna became sick and his energy drained.
The others panicked, but Setsuna knew this was the reaction to fully merging the eyes. Even Sasuke took about a week for his eyes to fully merge.
Due to this, the medic consulted Uchiha Madara, who came to the medical room with his brother Izuna.
"Setsuna, are you awake?" asked Madara.
"I'm awake, Madara-sama," replied Setsuna.
"I heard you've lost your vision?" asked Madara.
"No, I can feel my vision slowly coming back," said Setsuna.
"We've decided to implant your old eyes back, and these eyes will be given to another Uchiha," Izuna suddenly said.
"No, Izuna-sama, you can't take these eyes," Setsuna began to panic.
"Setsuna, for some reason your brother's eyes aren't suitable for you. Another Uchiha could use Tekka's eyes in just a minute," explained Izuna.
"I can feel my eyes becoming stronger," Setsuna insisted.
"Okay, if you say so, we'll leave you for now," replied Izuna.
"Thank you. I feel that in about a week, I may fully gain my brother's power," said Setsuna.
They agreed not to take Tekka's eyes, but during this time, something extraordinary was happening to Setsuna.
His chakra reserves became larger than Izuna's, and even the medic who treated him noticed it. When they researched further, they found that the eyes had grown much stronger, and Setsuna was no longer weak like before.
After a week, Setsuna no longer felt any strain on his eyes, meaning Tekka's eyes had fully merged with his power. But it didn't stop there—his chakra reserves had grown even larger.

"Are these Tekka's eyes?" asked Madara.
"No, leader. Tekka's eyes were more flowery," answered the medic.
"Then why have his eyes changed?" Madara asked.
Setsuna decided to speak up.
"Madara-sama, I believe my power has merged with my brother's power."
Everyone went silent, even the elders, as they tried to process his words.
"Do you mean that your eyes evolved into something new due to the combination of your chakra and your brother's eyes?" asked Madara.
"Yes. I've heard that when someone awakens their Mangekyō Sharingan, they eventually go blind," explained Setsuna. "But my eyes are different—they won't go blind, and I can feel it."
"Really?" Everyone was shocked.
"Yes, Madara-sama. I believe that if you and Izuna swapped eyes, your eyes might evolve into something even more powerful," Setsuna suggested.
Madara and Izuna exchanged glances.
"Is there anyone in the clan who has awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan?" asked Madara.
"There are some who still have Mangekyō Sharingan, but unfortunately, their siblings are dead, and their eyes are no longer usable," replied an elder.
"So that means Izuna and I are the only siblings who still have usable Mangekyō Sharingan?" asked Madara.
"Yes, Madara-sama," the elder confirmed.
To further convince Madara, Setsuna activated his Mangekyō Sharingan. Within seconds, he materialized his Susanoo in its second stage, and then increased his power to the third and fourth stages.
His Susanoo towered even taller than Madara's third form. Madara had never succeeded in materializing the fourth or final form of Susanoo due to a lack of chakra and the strain on his eyes.
"Madara-sama, I don't feel any pain or strain in my eyes," said Setsuna.
Later that day, everyone in the Uchiha clan learned that combining eyes made the user stronger, and their Mangekyō Sharingan would no longer go blind.
Unfortunately, there were no other Uchiha siblings left who had both awakened their eyes. The rest had either died or gone blind, which led the elders to suggest that Madara and Izuna swap their eyes.
