'Knock'

'knock'

'Knock'

But as a knock on the door pulled him out of his thoughts. [ "Young master, the Duke and Duchess are waiting for you to join them for breakfast."] The butler waited for his answer but it never came.

As he decided to enter a cold emotionless voice reached his ears. [ " I...will be right...there."]

The butler panicked and opened the door.["young master are you alright?"]

Butler's (POV)

Having served the Thorn household for 40 years it could be said he knows them well than anyone but as he lookedd at those black, deep and motionless eyes; an Aura of nothingness; a face that looked pale and stiff as if paralyzed.

He became secared and yet too frightened to shout or move and if not for the raven black hair he could have thought it was not him.

IN THE THORN MANSION

Everyone's eyes were on Damien who seemed to be only slicing his food and not eating. Curt the brother to Damien couldn't take the suffocating atmosphere and spoke up.

["Brother is the food not your liking? If it isn't I ask them to prepare something else."]

Damien couldn't careless about food but as he had plan for ' this' brother of his he played along. In a cold monotone voice.

[ "There is ...no need for...that."]

His mother was shocked to see her charismatic son become indifferent but filled with worry she voiced her concern. ["What happened to your voice?"]

Damien not wanting to waste breath in explaining anything got up and left. Leaving everyone in utter shock.

Sitting in an office Damien looked at the man behind the desk and Damien could only describe him as a coward.

Damien being pushed back to the memories of the passed when everyone thing was full of strife but still manageable.

When l always used to smile through the pain and had dreams of having a family of my own and serving the kingdom with full loyalty.

[But such such is life.]

As the Duke finished signing his work he looked at a totally different Damien. ["so what brings you here?"]
