[Midtown High | David's POV]
"David!" my friend Peter shouted, full of energy "Awesome game! You really are a force of nature."
"Thanks..." I said, deep in thought
'I have a really bad feeling today'
"Wanna go eat Pizza together? You pay obvers-"
"Look, I gotta go home. Have to finish the school project. Remember?"I ignored his not-so-good attempt at making a joke and broke into his sentence while turning around.
"Ah yes... well, next time then?"
"Yeah, next time. See you tomorrow then. " I said while walking and giving a short wave in his direction with my backhand.
"Yeah, See ya!"

[Bus | Queensboro bridge]
'Hm... why is it called football if we mostly touch the ball with our hands?' I asked myself because of boredom while sitting on the bus home.
(Amaricans!!!! Explain to me (>_<) )
{Spider-Man is chasing the thief down the street onto the Queensboro bridge. The thief seems to be driving a white van with a blue cow on it!...}
I tuned the radio out as I saw the described van passing us on the bridge.
The back of the vehicle opens and-
'Wait! Is that a-'
{The thief seems to not be alone! The other thief has a gun and is trying to shoot Spider-Man!}
I see Spider-Man swinging by and evading the bullets with grace. Little by little nearing the van.
"Ahhh!"
"Häh?"
"MAMA!"
"Mia?"
I hear screams from all over the bus and look around to see what happened, only to see the bus driver lying dead on the steering wheel.
"AHH!" I begin to scream too, as I lose my footing because the bus begins to swirl around.
I try to grab something as I notice, that the bus is about to fall off the bridge.
'F*c-!' I prepare myself for the impact but am caught lacking when, in a moment of surprise, a schoolbag hits my head, which makes my hand instinctively reach for it.
'ouch!'
This action is one that I instantly regret as the bus starts falling down and is stopped mid-fall.
I smashed against the holding rods, and the front window, breaking it on collision, and began to feel more pain than I ever felt before. I noticed how I started to fall unconscious.
{Spider-Man saved the Day!}

[1 Week later | Lenox Hill Hospital]
{Spider-Man saved the Day!}
{Spider-Man saved the Day!}
{Spider-Man saved the Day!}
...
I play the recording again and again. The last thing I heard before blacking out. The last time, I was 'a normal student' who didn't shit his pants.
{Spider-Man saved the Day!}
I remember back to yesterday when I woke up.

'Wha- What is going on?'
I try to sit up but can't
'I can't sit up help!' "HELP!"
[a little later]
"I'm afraid to tell you your son has sustained a spinal cord injury that paralyzed most of his body."
"He also damaged his prefrontal cortex. Patients with damaged PFC tend to show..."
I sit there with my parents, who are as shocked by the news as I am. I look out the window and bearly see my reflection. I see an average-looking boy who has black hair and brown eyes.
I wasn't 'a normal teen' per se, because I am... was a quarterback. My height is 6 feet and 9 inches. My weight was 270 pounds.
I am... was a good enough quarterback to be scouted by colleges. Which was a good thing because my family is rather poor and we can't afford to get me and my siblings into college.
'But that's over now, isn't it?'
"...Overall, when the PFC is damaged, the individual presents issues with complex cognitive skills, including planning, behavior, and emotional expressions."
'Ah... He's still talking...'

[back to present]
"David! How are you!"
Peter ran into the room while looking worn out.
"Not good, I guess."
{Spider-Man saved the Day!}
This time I looked at the TV and saw how Spider-Man pulled up the bus, with me hanging on a web in front of it, while the thieves were tied up.
"You're a fan of Spider-Man?" Peter said, with a voice filled with happiness?
"No... I hate him." I said in a dark tone.
"Huh? Why?" Peter asked me with an awful lot of surprise in his voice.
"Did you know that the thieves only stole 420 bucks?" I asked him a rhetorical question.
"A couple 100 bucks ended the life of a bus driver, seriously injured 5 schoolkids, me excluded, and took my future." The more I talked, the more I lost my former sadness and became angrier, but I didn't care and continued.
"But that isn't his fault!" Peter shouted a little bit louder.
"He most likely just tried his best!"
"He may have tried his best, but that doesn't mean it was needed!" I said, getting more and more angry.
"But He-!"
"Why? Why couldn't he just care about his own goddamn business?!"
I screamed loud enough to make my lungs hurt as I started crying
"He is at fault! He is!"

[ Lenox Hill Hospital entrance | Peter's POV ]
"Well, this didn't go good." I murmured to myself while thinking about his words.
'He is at fault!...' I can't get these words out of my head.
>Wee Woo<
I looked at the street and saw a police car driving by with its siren on.
'No rest for the unwicked' I thought while letting out a small chuckle.
