Chapter 20 - The Raddle Tempest Continues

Lyraxia,22nd of celestia, 542 ER( Late Afternoon)(Continuation)

Satya, Winnie, Silvia, Anya, and Jullocks had been tirelessly searching for the temple mark. After scouring every nook and cranny, they realized the reliquary was the only place they hadn't checked, and their mark was likely hiding there.

Satya, now leading the group, gestured for silence, and they stealthily hid and blocked the reliquary door, awaiting the unsuspecting intruder. Janeth cautiously peeked out of the door, hoping to find the coast clear and make a quick escape. But, to her horror, Satya spotted her and hurled a formidable spear with incredible speed and accuracy.

Janeth barely dodged the spear, which pierced the wall mere inches from her face, and she swiftly retreated back into the safety of the reliquary, her heart racing with fear. Satya, confirming the person is in the reliquary, gives silent, commanding gestures to the rest, and they move stealthily to the reliquary, waiting for Janeth.

Janeth, still shaken from her near-death experience, shakes her head to dispel the fear. "Oh my fucking!!! Fucking!! Did that whore just try to impale me with a spear? Shit, I'm in a mess!!! Wait!!".

She pauses, collecting her thoughts, her hands on her chin, and then her eyes widen as if remembering something. "Shit, it's the Raddle Tempest!! But what are they doing here? I thought GOA Count Derstrikes and them had given us approval. Something is wrong. No need to think, I must get out of here. Hmmm!!".

She scoffs, then strides to the table where she was reading the book, Tazz, and closes it, putting it in her leather satchel. She removes her monstrous hammer, its weight and presence reassuring. Approaching the door, she presses her ear against it, a sly smirk spreading across her face. "You think... those fools!!".

Then, with a roll, she opens the door as Winnie lunges at her with a spear. She rolls to dodge the danger, then, without standing up, squats and recites the mantra of the plan. Something iconic happens: the ground starts to vibrate, but the fox beast-women of the Raddle Tempest pause, taken aback by what's happening.

Since nothing seems to happen, Winnie rushes towards Janeth, who has now gotten up. Winnie spins her spear in an attempt to behead Janeth, who dodges away. Then, Janeth swings her monstrous hammer towards Winnie. Winnie's attention is drawn to the glowing insignia of GOA Count Derstrikes on the hammer, and she looks at Janeth with a confused expression.

Sensing something, Winnie immediately rolls backwards, dodging the swing of the hammer - not because of the hammer itself, but because of the air that follows its swing, which shouts danger. Janeth senses Jullocks trying to impale her and swings the hammer towards her, but it misses by a wide margin. Jullocks smirks, her spear inches away from impaling Janeth's chest, but something shocking happens: the air generated from the swing of the hammer pushes Jullocks with great force, sending her crashing into the door of the other room with powerful momentum. The door breaks on impact, and Jullocks is knocked out cold.

Winnie had already sounded a warning to Jullocks, but it was too late. Winnie's voice rings out in alarm: "Jullocks, watch out! She's invoking the ancient mantra! Its power is coursing through her hammer - dodge it entirely, you fool, or risk being crushed!"

Janeth stands tall, her hammer poised on her shoulder, her gaze blazing with pride and defiance as she faces Jullocks. Suddenly, she springs into action, her body bending and twisting in a graceful arc as she dodges the spears of Sally and Annie. She uses the wall as a springboard, launching herself over the two women with a fluid motion, her movements almost ethereal.

An arrow hurtles towards her, but she dodges it with a scornful smile, her reflexes honed to perfection. The arrow shudders to a halt in mid-air, vibrating with an otherworldly energy that sends a blinding noise crashing through the air. Winnie, Sally, and Annie clap their hands over their ears, their faces contorted in pain, but Janeth's ear bleeds from the intense sound, her eyes closed tight as the smoke from the arrow envelops her, stinging her eyes.

Her face is serene, but her body betrays her pain, her knees buckling as she kneels on the ground. As the cacophony subsides, Satya emerges from the walkway, her footsteps echoing off the stone floor. She approaches Janeth, who kneels on the ground, her hammer vibrating beside her like a living thing, as if searching for its master's touch. Satya's face is a picture of concern and relief, her eyes locked on Janeth's pale face, her bleeding ear, and her closed eyes, which seem to hide a world of pain.

Satya exclaims, "Janeth, Janeth, you're a force to be reckoned with! No wonder you bested Alisha. I'm astonished the GOA Count Derstrikes have emblazoned their weapons with the plan insignia."

She sighs, grasping a bow of unknown origin, its structure unlike any ordinary weapon. Relief washes over her face. "You bewitching handful!" Satya mutters, her tone a mix of awe and frustration.

In a flash, she readies her arrows, and draws the bow. The arrows shoots towards Janeth with incredible speed, thier trajectories true.

Janeth, seemingly defeated, smirks as she opens her hand. Her hammer, sensing her presence, leaps into her palm. With a mighty swing, she unleashes a torrent of energy, showcasing her mastery of the weapon.

She handled that monstrous hammer well, despite her slender structure, her muscles flexing with a strength that belied her appearance.

The doors, responding to its master's call, bursts open, shattering some of thier panels due to the air pressure. The arrows in mid-air halt, suspended by the hammer's energy, and then shatters in mid-air, exploding into fragments that scatter in all directions.

Satya, still reeling from the sudden turn, retrieves a mystical arrow from a separate quiver. Its structure glows with an otherworldly aura. She draws the bow, and the arrow shoots towards Janeth with ferocious speed, generating a deafening noise.

The bow, despite its sturdy structure, shudders and damages itself in the process. Janeth, still on one knee, frowns as her hammer vibrates in her hand, urging her to block the arrow. She knows the danger it poses.

With a swift motion, she dashes towards an open window, dodging the arrow by a hair's breadth. The arrow shatters the glass, its monstrous speed and ferocity evident.

Satya's face contorts in frustration as Janeth, undeterred, sprints towards the stairs. The arrow, still active, splits into two mid-air, as if possessed of a mind of its own.

One half penetrates the wall Janeth just passed, its tip visible on the other side. And as if sensing the wall it penetrated isn't its target, detaches itself from the wall, Janeth notices this, smites the ground with a resounding crash using her hammer, and then uses the wall as a springboard to launch herself towards the bastruda of the stairs.

The arrow now, after detaching itself, wants to impale Janeth again but stops as the shockwave generated by the blow impedes the arrow's flight, arresting its trajectory in mid-air.

The arrow vibrates, straining to move forward, but its energy is spent trying to break free from the arrest, it then shatters in a blast of energy, realizing its target is no longer in its path and it will not be able to catch up, its momentum exhausted.

Satya starts running backwards, shouting at her rest of team. Satya: "Take cover, fools!!". As a full explosion happens, shattering everything in its path, shaking the building, it knocks Satya and the rest of the fox beast-women, and even intercepts Janeth's movement.

As the shockwave, janeth who is already in mid-air, having launched herself from the balustrades towards the last staircase, goes crashing into the wall due to the impact of tgr shockwave as it hits her, her momentum halted abruptly, before she falls to the ground, her body limp.
