He raised his hands, basking in the thunderous cheers that enveloped the arena. His face contorted into a smug grin, his eyes filled with pride. As he made his way towards the exit, his steps were light, almost dancing with satisfaction.
Amaris, disapproving, clicked her tongue and muttered under her breath, "What's so amazing about him? He was mercilessly toying with his opponent during the match." She turned to Xylothar, awaiting an explanation.
Xylothar responded with an even tone, "Why not?"
Amaris frowned, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Why not? What a terrible answer," she replied, annoyance lacing her words.
Xylothar simply shrugged, his gaze fixated on the arena.
"The Demon arena is merely a playground for demons to bet and spectate. They don't take it seriously when someone engages in despicable acts. You'll find many instances like that here," he calmly explained.
Determined, Amaris clenched her fist and said, "Well then, I want to enter the arena now."
Xylothar peered at her, his gaze inscrutable.
"You just have to wait until your name is called," he explained, observing Amaris's growing excitement.
Patiently, Amaris waited, the deafening roar of the crowd filling her ears. The air crackled with anticipation, the tension palpable. Her heart raced with eagerness, adrenaline coursing through her veins. Eventually, her name was announced, the announcer's voice reverberating throughout the stadium.
"Up next, Xuco against Amaris!" the booming voice echoed. Amaris's grin widened, her eyes brimming with anticipation. The crowd erupted in cheers for Xuco, while some jeered at Amaris.
Unfazed, she exuded confidence in her abilities, eager to push her limits. With light footsteps, she left her seat and headed towards the arena platform. Xuco stood on the opposite side, his expression oozing with smugness. He wore a smirk on his face as he locked eyes with Amaris, his gaze full of condescension.
Just as the two were eyeing each other, the announcer stepped and started to talk.
"On the left side we have Xuco, a rank 19 Voltarion. On the right side, we have a rank 16 vampire/spider mix! Can she stop the tear of Xuco wrath? Place your bets and let's see if this girl has any chance," the announcer yelled to the crowd, the audience going wild with his words.
Amaris rolled her eyes in exasperation at his statement, the deafening roar of the crowd filling her ears. The air was thick with tension, suffocating and almost tangible.
She scrutinised Xuco, taking in his towering height and imposing physique. His well-built body exuded confidence, while his sharp blue claws emitted a faint smoky trail. His icy blue pupils gleamed like frozen sapphires, accentuated by his pointy ears and long reptilian tail.
The cacophony of the crowd intensified as Xuco unleashed crackling bolts of lightning into the air, surrounding himself in a swirling display of electrified particles.
A smug expression adorned his face as his intense gaze locked onto Amaris. In response, Amaris narrowed her eyes, a deep frown etching her features as she tightly clenched her fists.
Her transformation into her Pink Widow form was already complete, and a yellow, poisonous fog enveloped her body. Slowly, she raised her gaze to the sky, then turned to face Xuco, her expression radiating menace.
The anticipation of the crowd grew louder, their collective excitement palpable. As Xuco's eyes, claws, and the skin around his arms glowed with a vibrant blue light, the scene crackled with electric energy.
"Begin!" the announcer shouted, his voice booming through the arena. Immediately, Xuco darted towards Amaris at an incredible speed, sparks of electricity trailing behind him.
The air buzzed with energy as he slammed into Amaris, sending her flying across the arena. She quickly recovered and regained her footing.
The yellow fog around her body thickened as she sprinted forward. She wasn't stupid enough to fight head on, so she poked damages on Xuco. Xuco got furious and swung his claws at Amaris. Amaris quickly dodged by twisting her body in an unnatural position.
"You freaking mosquito. Are you tired of living yet?"
Amaris smirked in response to Xuco's taunt. "I'm just getting started," she replied, her voice dripping with confidence.
She moved with grace and agility, evading Xuco's attacks effortlessly. Each time he swung his claws, she countered with swift and precise strikes, leaving small but painful wounds on his body.
The crowd was on the edge of their seats, witnessing the intense battle unfolding before them. The atmosphere crackled with excitement as Amaris continued to chip away at Xuco's defences. Her yellow fog enveloped him, causing him to cough and struggle to see through the poisonous haze.
But Xuco was not one to back down easily. He roared in fury, his electric aura intensifying. Bolts of lightning shot from his fingertips, aiming to strike Amaris. However, she expected his moves because of the last fight with the other female demon and dodged each attack with fluidity.
With each passing minute, his frustration grew, causing his concentration to waver. He knew he had to make a bold move or he would encounter difficulties down the road.
He stretched out his hand and shaped it like a claw and slammed it into the ground and yelled, "Byakko!"
Five enormous discs materialised out of thin air and hurtled towards Amaris, their sheer size casting an intimidating shadow.
Her eyes widened in terror as the five disc-like blades raced towards her, their velocity sending shivers down her spine.
She struggled to budge but found herself immobilised, trapped under an invisible force. Suddenly, a sharp disc sliced across her front, leaving a deep gash. The impact launched her forcefully into the hard wall of the fighting arena.
As Amaris slid to the ground, her moans of pain echoed through the air, accompanied by the sight of blood slowly staining her clothes.
Xuco's eyes sparkled with delight as he walked towards her. His bloodshot red eyes seemed to smoulder with intensity, as if they were on fire. He glanced at the gaping wound in her stomach and burst into laughter.
"Little girl, it seems like today is your death day."
Xuco approached her, his claws glistening menacingly in the dim light. With a tight grip, he extended his sharp claws and swung his right arm, intending to strike her heart.
