After one week of the incident, Tina became so worried about what Sefa is planning on doing to them.
After what happened, Tina became Sefa's sworn enemy, because his parents grounded him for lying and trying to frame Wanzi.
On a particular morning, Tina began to long for her parents again. So, that early morning, she rushed to the river of forgetfulness, she does this whenever she misses her parents.
This time around, Sefa followed her stealthy, and she was unaware. While she was sitting on a stone, close to the river, Sefa came and stood behind her. She was so lost in thought, that she began to hallucinate. She was talking to her parents in the river.
"Mom, dad, I miss you guys so much".
Before, their spirit used to wonder about in the water, but now, it's not the same, ever since Wanzi wished for their spirit to rest in peace. Their soul left the water, and Tina can only feel their presence now.
"Today I came here because, Wanzi had been looking after me so well. So, don't worry, but I haven't been able to do the same to her. Forgive me for being such an unfilial child, but I promise that when I'm all grown up, my sister would be my number one priority".
Sefa laughed deviously within him, and said your wish would end here today. Then, he pushed her inside the river.
She kept screaming, but no one heard her, and Sefa stood there to make sure she doesn't survive, she begged Sefa to save her, but, he watched her drown.
Afterwards, he ran back home, and told everyone, that he heard a rumour about Tina, when he was coming home. Mr and Mrs Wilson got worried, and asked Sefa to recounter everything he heard.
Sefa stated how he loved and cared for Tina, so that he wouldn't be suspected.
"Dad, mom, I might not be in good terms with Wanzi, but I love sister Tina just as much, and now she is missing, I will take the full responsibility of organizing a search party. I will go with my friends, and search every nook and cranny of this city, and the places she is familiar with".
It was already late, and Tina wasn't back yet, Wanzi became more worried. But, Mr and Mrs Wilson were not home yet, so she thought maybe Tina was with them. While waiting, Wanzi got some gifts for Tina, as she loves getting new things everytime.
"Yes, sister Tina would love this so much, I can't wait to show her".
Wanzi was in the room waiting for her sister to return. She was busy, making a list of things they would do together.
"Honey!" Called Mr Wilson.
"Yes dear" Mrs Wilson answered.
"Do you think we should tell Wanzi about Tina now? He asked as they couldn't trace her, but it was 9pm already.
"If we tell her now, she would not be able to sleep. Again, I wonder how the people on the street came to know that Tina was missing? Did they see her been kidnapped, or they saw her running away by chance? But, why would she run away, and leave her sister behind? She loves her sister too much to do that. All this just doesn't make any sense. What should we do?" Mrs Wilson pondered.
The telephone rang when Mechi stepped into the room. It was her parents calling.
"Listen to us carefully Mechi, you have to put Wanzi to sleep by all means, we are planning on telling her everything tomorrow".
"But, how do I go about it?"
"Okay listen, go to my room, and open the bedside drawer, you will see a container, on it, is written sleeping pills. Take one tablet, and mix it in juice, then you have to convince her to drink it, she might refuse to, but you have to try your best".
Mechi did as her parents instructed her, after mixing the tablet in the juice, she took it to Wanzi, but she refused to take it.
"Look Mechi, I haven't seen Tina since morning, ever since she went to the river. I don't know when she will be back, even if it's true that she went out with Aunt and uncle, I'm still really worried, and here you are offering me juice, when I just want my sister back. There's this feeling inside of me, like, something bad has happened to her".
"No need to worry so much".
Mr and Mrs Wilson came back when Wanzi had already fallen asleep, she took the juice after Mechi reassured her, and made her to drink it, and hope for Tina's safe return.
Before the crack of dawn, Wanzi woke everyone up, screaming, and sobbing. She was crying so loudly, that no one could shut their eyes, even if they wanted to. Mr and Mrs Wilson came out of their room yawning, upon seeing Wanzi wailing, it recalled to them that Tina was still missing.
"Oh goodness, honey, how are we going to handle this?"
"Aunt, please tell me where Tina is, since yesterday, I have not laid my eyes on her. I'm.... I'm, wait, why are you all quiet? Tell me, why aren't you talking?!"
"Look Wanzi, yesterday, we were all looking for Tina, we didn't tell you because, we were worried you would freak out. Infact, it was already night time when we discovered that Tina was really gone".
"What?!! You can't be.... It can't be possible, so my sister went missing yesterday, and none of you thought it was a good idea to inform me about it? First, you made me believe she went out with you guys, but nooo. I have to find her right now, I have to find my sister!!"
Wanzi went out to look for Tina, while Sefa was at ease to see her worry so much. Mr and Mrs Wilson followed closely. Wanzi recalled how much her sister loves going to the river of forgetfulness, on the day she went missing, she visited the river in the morning. What if she forgot herself there, in a trance, while trying to communicate with the ghosts of her father and mother.
"Tina!! Tina!!! Where are you? Please don't play games with me right now, you have been hiding since yesterday, it is time to come out now".
As she walked towards the river, it was as if something was pulling her, and she went without hesitation, she ran to the river, and started searching for Tina z when she spotted a stone, on it was written 'mom, dad, don't forget us'. Moments later, Mr and Mrs Wilson also arrived.
"Oh my goodness, Tina was really here".
She rushed to the far end of the river, and there it was, Tina's body, floating atop The water. Wanzi's body froze, her heart stopped, everything around her stopped moving. It was as if Mother nature felt her pain, and it started raining heavily, and Wanzi fainted due to shock.
