Chapter 10 - HUNTED

Olivia pov ..

"What is it you want to discuss and why are you moving closer to me, and stop acting strange because you are scaring the living dat light out of me" I stammer out, staring directly into his eyes.

"I am not scaring you Olivia, I am just trying to do that which is right and of course the best for everyone" he shutters an evil smirk displaying on his face.

"What the heck do you ever mean by that? what do you mean by you are trying to do what's best for everyone and besides I am not enjoying this show anymore, just quit it"

"Quit it? well! I am sorry that I can't do that, I need you to be where I ought to be, I need you to take what is rightfully mine which have been stolen from him.

"Him....? what exactly are you saying about? who did you wrong and what is your rightful position? and what do I even have to do with any of these?"

"You are the one to help me and that is all I now, Olivia, as for now I want you to follow me quietly now I have kept your husband busy is the parlour I need you to follow me and if you even try to act smart with me, I swear I will slice your throat" his eyes holds danger and I can feel myself vibrating to the sound of his voice.

"What have I ever done to you?" my voice was call and pleplexed as I try to figure out the reason for his actions.

"Are you seriously asking me that? you betrayed me Olivia, you left me to marry my brother after all we shared and you have the guts to ask what you can ever done to me? you have done everything to me Olivia and you must pay for it, don't try to make this more complicated than it already is, just follow me like a humble puppet you are and have always been" his last words string off leaving a deep hole in my heart.

Without waiting for me to say any other thing he pulls me by the hand dragging me harshly like a little child who have committed a very dangerous crime, I tried to wear off his grib but it seems his energy is more than I can handle.

"What is happening in here?" I heard and I felt it's the right time to make my move and be free before the beast before me devours me.

"Let me go....." I couldn't finish my statement when he grinned heavily placing a white handkerchief over my nose. My vision blurred out immediately but before it did I notice a very familiar shadow standing by the door, a figure I can ever identify even at the point of dead, but why will she do this to me, I have never wronged her to deserve such from her.

Ryan pov.....

"Where is the person looking for me?" I ask the nearest maid after searching helplessly without any stress of the so called visitor.

"She was sitting just here when I left" she stammer out her head singing praises to the ground.

"She was sitting here when she left? then how can you be so careless to let her get away from your watch even without noticing it" I bark out like I have ever assigned her to look after anyone, but she dare not defend herself if she doesn't want her head rolling on the floor.

"I'm sorry, sir," she mumbled, her shoulders slumping in defeat. "I was so focused on my work that I didn't notice her leave." She hung her head, her eyes fixed on the floor as if she was afraid to meet my gaze.

"What was she wearing?" I demanded, my impatience growing. "What did she look like?" The maid trembled as she scrambled to answer my questions.

"She was wearing a long black gown, covering her head to toe," the maid said, her voice trembling. "Her skin was as pale as snow, or maybe even whiter. She had a black handkerchief tied over her face, so I couldn't see her features. But there was something about her that seemed familiar, like I'd seen her before."

"Why would a security guard let someone into your home with a handkerchief covering their face?" I thought to myself. "She could be an assassin, sent to kill someone or ruin your life. And how did she manage to leave without being seen?" I felt a surge of panic rising in my chest, my heart pounding in my ears.

"Sir," a voice called out from behind me, causing me to whirl around in surprise. "She fled as soon as she saw your brother, Ethan. And it seemed like he recognized her." I stared at the maid, my mind racing as I tried to process her words.

"Molly? How did you know that?" I asked, recognizing the voice as belonging to one of my most trusted servants. Molly had been with me for years, and I knew she would never lie to me.

"I was cleaning up the table in the hallway when I saw her run away as soon as she noticed Ethan," Molly explained, her words coming out in a rush. "Ethan didn't seem surprised, and he followed her, acting like he knew who she was." My mind was reeling with the implications of her words. What was going on?

"I followed them out to the dark corner near the parking lot, where I overheard their conversation," Molly said, bowing her head. "Ethan seemed to be keeping a secret, something that no one else knows." I felt a surge of fear and suspicion. What could Ethan be hiding? Was he planning to make good on his threat to ruin me? I couldn't help but wonder if my life was about to change forever.

"Where is he now?" I demanded, after several moments of silent reflection. I needed to find out what was going on, and I needed to find out now.

"I don't know where he is now, but I think the guards should search the house to see if he's still here," she said, her voice calm and reassuring. She was right - we needed to find out where he was and what he was up to.

"A search should be carried out right away," I said, my voice firm. "Tell the guards to search the whole house for him." I paused, as a thought occurred to me. "Wait - what about my wife?" I asked. "Where is she?" The guard looked at me, and I could see the panic in his eyes.

"Sir," he said, his voice trembling, "Your wife - she's nowhere to be found."
