"Wake up," Elaine stirred awake at the feeling of being nudged. Her whole body was sore with pain, physically abused through the whole day by Mr Heintingold. So much so that she had passed out.
As she awoke, she jerked away from the touch of who ever had stirred her awake, afraid that the torture would continue. She noticed it was night time and in the darkness, subtly lightened by the cool moonlight, Elaine could make out the form of a man.
Her heart skipped a beat but then calmed abruptly when she realised the stature of the person was much too short to be Mr Heintingold and too tall to be the short, wretched henchman.
However, she did not let herself feel safe as she still did not know who the intruder was. When the person reached towards her again, she struggled against her restrains, opening her mouth to let out sounds of defiance.
The intruder placed his hand over her mouth quickly, stopping her from making anymore sounds.
