Celestiel's breath caught in her throat as she gazed into the mouth of the forest. She remained silent, hoping it hadn't been her whatever was in the forest was speaking to.
Unfortunately for her, it was her.
"I do not see you," the voice said. "But I sense you....your essence."
Celestiel remained silent, trying to calm her breathing which had turned slightly ragged from fear and anxiety.
"Have you come to retrieve the stone? It is long gone," the voice went on, unfazed by her silence.
Gathering the courage she could muster, Celestiel squared her shoulders and took in a deep breath.
"Who are you?"
The voice laughed. It was dry and wicked, like a cackle.
"How are you here and you do not know who i am?," the voice asked, its feminine voice, deep and rugged. "No matter, if you truly are unaware of who you are conversing with, then you do not need to know who i am yet...in time, however."
