A week had passed and the nightmares hadn't stopped. Neither had the Heintingolds ceased in their accusations towards her about their missing logs.

Even she couldn't explain it. That is, until she eventually caught the real thief. Elaine had returned after work hours to retrieve her axe which she had forgotten. And there, she found Dikks with a small, balding overweight man. Behind them was a large cart, so big, it was led by four horses. And in the cart was atleast two-thirds of the timber she had chopped down for the day.

Quickly hiding behind a tree close by, she watched as Dikks signed a parchment paper which the bald, small man held and once he returned it, the short man handed him a thick leather pouch. After that, the man walked back to his cart and began riding away.

Dikks chuckled to himself, ripping open the top of the small sack. He dug his fingers in, emerging a moment later with a few gold coins between them, which dropped back into the sack.
