"Moon flower...awaken"
What was that sound? Why did it feel so good to keep her eyes shut? No matter how hard she tried, it seemed her body was repelling the thought of being awake.
"Wake up, my love"
She felt a warm, comforting hand touch her cheeks.
That smell...
It smelled like lilac and cinnamon mixed with some scent she couldn't quite place.
It was nostalgic.
"Mother...?"
She heard her mother's soft chuckle. "Open your eyes...you shouldn't stay too long, your father might notice your absence"
She rolled over with a tired groan. "But mother, I want to sleep a little more"
"You know how your father is, moonflower", her mother gently touched her. "You should get back and get ready for the day. Isn't today the day you meet Duke Richard's son?"
Celestiel finally opened her eyes. She frowned at the old ceiling with rottening spots from where the water from the rain had soaked. "Mother, I don't want to marry him"
