"Does this mean that I do not need to be worried that I can hear my fox talk?," Celestiel asked as they began walking towards the Captain's cabin.
The mage shook his head. "I do not think it is anything to worry yourself about. For all you know, that pet of yours may be your guardian."
"Guardian?," Celestiel frowned in confusion. "Do you mean a protector?"
"A divine guardian is a protector, a guide, an aid...many, many things," Ezra explained. "They are usually animals of many kinds, humans are rarely used as guardians but it is not that they cannot. The guardian aids the deity in what ever way it can."
"All the other deities have guardians?," Celestiel asked.
Ezra nodded, replying, "Sometimes, it is a whole ritual to simply have a guardian. Other times, the deities are born with their guardians."
"You say deities like there are more than just four other goddesses," Celestiel commented curiously. It evoked a short laugh from the mage.
