Chereads / Reincarnated As The Asura Prince / Chapter 2 - Chapter No.2 Getting A Boon

Chapter 2 - Chapter No.2 Getting A Boon

Centuries later, the perception of Meghnad remains divisive. Some view him as a ruthless villain, while others see him as a tragic figure, a victim of the circumstances and expectations thrust upon him. The term "coward" may have haunted him in life, as the tag his father put on him remained even after his useless sacrifice.

Book closes~

The cover of the book has "RAAVANPUTR MEGHNAD: The Prince of Lanka" title on it published by Kevin Missal in 2019.

The ending, with the perception of Meghnad remaining divisive even centuries later, adds a thought-provoking element to the story. The boy looking at the book with a sad yet angry expression hints at the enduring legacy and emotional impact of Meghnad's story.

"You were not a coward, You just didn't have the choice." The boy's words resonated with a poignant truth, encapsulating the essence of Meghnad's tragic narrative.

"Now I am happy that I was named after you, Indrajit." A forced smile made its way onto his face.

As he placed the book back on the shelf, the boy found himself lost in thought. The room around him seemed to fade away, replaced by the echoes of a distant past. He could almost hear the clash of celestial weapons, the roars of battle, and the whispered regrets that lingered in the air.

"I wish there was more to your story, Indrajit," the boy murmured, his gaze fixed on the closed book. "More about the choices you faced, the struggles within you. Maybe then, people wouldn't judge so harshly."

After that, He went to bed and lay down, staring at the ceiling as his mind continued to dwell on the complex tale of Meghnad. The room was filled with a quiet stillness, interrupted only by the soft rustle of leaves outside and the distant sounds of the world beyond.

As the boy drifted into slumber, Suddenly a bolt of lightning made its way into the room and struck the boy. It looked like it was intentionally done by something or...someone?

As the lightning struck and the room fell back into darkness, a strange energy seemed to linger in the air. The scent of burnt flesh and the eerie silence that followed hung heavy in the room. The boy lay still on his bed, seemingly lifeless, his features distorted by a mix of shock and pain.

Drip~ Drip~ Drip~

"Mm..." The boy slowly opened his eyes, disoriented and groggy. the rhythmic sound of water droplets hitting the ground echoed in the silence. As his senses adjusted, he realized he was no longer in his bed, No he wasn't even in his room.

The place could be described in just one word, CAVE. The cave was dimly lit by a soft, otherworldly glow. Strange symbols adorned the walls, pulsating with a faint energy. As the boy struggled to sit up, he noticed he was not alone. A figure, he was shrouded in a brilliant golden light. He just outlined the figure to guess figure was a man.

He was very tall, His long hair was tied in a bundle over his head, On it was what looked like a crescent moon worn as decoration, From the bundle of his hair fountain of water continuously came out of it, When you look at his neck there was outline of a snake constricting on it, But the most eye-catching things was a what held in man's hand a Trident, That trident as big as the height of the man, It was emitting ferocious yet gently aure. These two feelings were contrary to each other but when it comes to Trident it felt like it was meant to be.

The boy, still recovering from the shock of the lightning strike and the mysterious transportation to the cave, stared at the enigmatic figure before him. The golden light that enveloped the man seemed to emanate from within, casting an ethereal glow that danced with the pulsating symbols on the cave walls.

The man with the trident spoke, his voice carrying a resonance that seemed to vibrate through the very core of the cave. "Indrajit," he addressed the boy, the name echoing with a weight that transcended time and space.

"Mahadev!!!"

He directly wanted to kneel and worship, But then he found out a horrifying truth: He can't kneel down because he doesn't have a body at all.

The realization that he lacked a physical form struck the boy like a thunderbolt. He looked down, or rather, where he thought his body should be, only to find a shimmering, translucent outline. Panic and confusion gripped him, and he tried to speak, but no words escaped his ethereal being.

Mahadev, the figure of divine radiance, observed the boy's distress with a calm serenity. "Do not be afraid, Indrajit," he spoke again, the resonance of his voice soothing the turbulent thoughts in the boy's non-existent mind.

"Don't worry you just died peacefully in your sleep."

Mahadev spoke these words very casually as if it was not a big deal.

The boy, or rather the ethereal presence of Indrajit, struggled to comprehend the words. "Died? Peacefully?" The concept of his own death and the calmness with which Mahadev spoke about it left him in a state of profound bewilderment.

"Then what now Mahadev? Why am I here and not in Swarg (Heaven) or Narak (Hell)?"

Indrajit spoke weakly almost whispering, his consciousness still grappling with the reality of his existence beyond the mortal realm.

"You can't go there because of the words you spoke."

Then god dropped a bomb of news on him again, The calmed down emotions also became unstable.

"W-What words?"

"The words you spoke about Meghnad, about his choices and the struggles within him. Your desire for a more nuanced understanding of his story, for people not to judge so harshly," Mahadev explained, his golden light pulsating with a gentle yet powerful energy.

Indrajit, now realizing the weight of his words, felt a mix of surprise and regret. "But I was just... I didn't mean..."

Mahadev interrupted gently, "Your words resonated with the essence of compassion and understanding, Indrajit. You expressed a wish for a deeper comprehension of the struggles faced by Meghnad, a desire for people to see beyond the surface judgments. Your empathy has brought you here."

The cave seemed to echo with the implications of Indrajit's words, creating a profound atmosphere. Indrajit, still grappling with the surreal nature of his existence, tried to process the information. "So, what is this place?"

"This is a realm between realms, a space where consciousness and understanding hold sway," Mahadev explained.

"It's time to fulfill your last wish, It will give closure and free you from mortal bounding, I will give you a boon for your good karma, Ask anything other than immortality, Putra (Son)."

Lord saw that it was time, So he decided to send him on his new journey.

"Mahadev but I didn't do anything that great to receive a boon, So why?"

Mahadev smiled, the light of wisdom reflecting in his eyes. "It is the purity of intention and the depth of understanding that transcends greatness, Indrajit. Your compassion and desire for a more nuanced perspective on Meghnad's story have touched the core of empathy. The boon is not a reward; it is an acknowledgment of the inherent goodness within you."

"So I can ask anything other than immortality right, Mahadev?"

"Indeed, Indrajit. Ask, and your request shall be granted, but remember, the nature of your boon will shape your destiny in the realms beyond," Mahadev affirmed, his golden light intensifying as he prepared to fulfill the boy's earnest wish.

"I always had the answer ready for a day like this, If I am going to become Meghnad then in boon I want is a...system."

"Which system to be exact?" Mahadev asked, intrigued by the boy's choice.

"C-Can you choose that for me? I am quite weak at these." Indrajit was embarrassed for earlier outbursts.

Mahadev chuckled softly, his aura radiating warmth and understanding. "Very well, Indrajit. I shall grant you the..."
