Shaun saw fresh white asparagus among the ingredients, so he peeled off the hard outer layer of white asparagus and sliced it with a diagonal knife. Unfortunately, the kitchen didn't find any small onions, Germans didn't eat small onions very often back then, they were used to eating large onions. Shaun had to cut the most tender white part of a large onion and shredded it.
At this time, Iris took a bath and changed into a comfortable casual dress and came to the kitchen, revealing a girlish curiosity rarely seen on her face as she watched Shaun busy, and after looking for a while asked, "My lord, how do you do these things?"
Shaun was silent for a while and said: "I have descended in the eastern kingdom."
Iris looked more curious: "Descended as a ... Chef?"
The black lines on Shaun's face were about to materialise: "Anyway, I became interested in the culinary arts of the East and learnt some myself, purely as a hobby."
Shaun said as he kept his hands under his head, found a working skillet, poured in the oil, choked the pan with shredded onions, poured in the sliced white asparagus, stir fried, added salt, sugar, poured in the water thickened with seasoned fused potato flour, and discharged the pan to divide it into two plates.
"Keep it simple tonight, just one dish. I'll slice a few slices of bread. You go open a bottle of red wine." Shaun instructed Iris.
When Shaun sliced the bread and put it on the table, he found that Iris was still holding the red wine in one hand and the corkscrew in the other, and asked Shaun with a calm face, "My lord, I can open the bottle of wine in another way if necessary."
Shaun cried and laughed, knowing that Iris had never used this kind of corkscrew from himself, took the bottle and the corkscrew and opened the cork.
"Well, taste the craft I learnt when I descended as a chef." Shaun poured Iris some red wine.
Iris stuck a piece of white asparagus in her mouth with her fork and chewed a few times:``Mmm, never tasted this kind of cooking before, it's very special, not bad."
Shaun shrugged: "Well, eat some of it, tomorrow I'll try something that suits your taste." Shaun knew that the eating habits of each place would create the taste of the locals, so he didn't expect the dishes he cooked with Chinese food techniques to immediately conquer Iris. Just like in Germany, there was a liquorice-flavoured black fudge that the locals grew up eating, which Shaun felt was simply worse than medicine.
After eating his plate clean, going down to two slices of bread, and taking a couple of sips of red wine, Shaun felt that his spirit, which had been slightly tense just now, had finally loosened up.
Looking up at Iris, he saw that she had also finished her plate having just taken a sip of her red wine.
The two looked at each other and smiled slightly, a slightly cosy sense of understanding rising to Shaun's mind.
"In a couple of days, come with me to England." Shaun said.
Iris said, "Sure."
Shaun slowly nodded his head and said: "For a period of time in the back, I'm afraid I'm going to run around Europe, do some hunting, and I'm going to look for some things while purifying the world. Do you have any questions?"
Iris smiled, there was a hint of madness in his smile: "If I were to sneak out of my home and wander, what you've just said is exactly what I'd be doing."
It was close to 9pm by this point and Shaun said to Iris, "I'm cooking so you do the dishes. Hold on tight, Coppin and the others will be here soon."
Iris gave a startled look, then released it and stood up to clumsily clean the dishes.
After a flurry of activity that made Shaun snicker, Iris finally got the dishes done in time for nine o'clock.
"You didn't let the maids stay just to see me laugh, my lord?" Iris asked Shaun, unable to tell if she was happy or angry.
But Shaun inexplicably felt a chill. "I can't let this girl's momentum overpower me." Shaun thought to himself.
"Labouring like an ordinary person can allow us to better integrate into the world." Shaun said lightly.
Before Iris had a chance to better understand if there was any truth to that statement, there was already a knock at the door that dripped with caution.
Iris calmed her expression and walked over with a smooth gait to open the door to the room, where Earl Kopin and seven of Karl's men stood at respectful attention outside.
"Come in." Shaun greeted with a smile.
The seven men entered the room wordlessly, standing in the parlour looking a little rushed.
"Have a seat everyone, although the living room is smaller, there is still enough seating." Shaun took the lead and sat down with a glass of red wine, "Whoever wants to drink anything can pour it themselves."
Earl Kopin and the others each found a place to sit down, among them, Karl looked slightly nervous and couldn't help but speak first: "My lord, there was an incident that happened in the evening, please allow me to report to you."
Shaun said, "Oh, tell me about it."
Having received permission, Carl continued, "Father Eric, who went to the Earl of Coppin's manor to investigate in the afternoon, was killed in the evening, at the entrance of the bishop's residence, and no one saw the assassin. But all indications are that Father Eric is a member of the Dark Order."
Shaun lifted the glass in his hand: "Well, I know about that. It was Iris and I who killed him."
Carl and Earl Kopin and the others froze when they heard this, not reacting for a moment, thinking that Shaun was joking or meant something else. After they understood that what Shaun said was not a joke, the seven of them were shocked.
"Master ... Lord Benhart, this, this is too surprising!" Carl stammered.
"It was Iris who sensed that Father Eric was a member of the Dark Church, so we decided to act immediately and get rid of him before he came after us. The Church will only thank us anyway, won't it?" Shaun said with a relaxed look on his face.
The crowd looked at Iris and saw a face that wore the same faint smile as Shaun's.
With sweat on his head, Karl stood up and said in a slightly hoarse voice: "My lord, your decision is very correct. I am very shocked by your decisiveness and power of action."
Shaun waved his hand: "This time it was mostly due to Iris."
Carl turned to Iris and bowed, "Your Excellency Iris, you have my deepest admiration."
Iris nodded, her face calm and unruffled.
Shaun said, "There are some things to tell you, one is that Iris and I are going to London in two days time, a week round trip, help me arrange the train and boat."
"After I get back I will listen to each of you individually, think about any troubles you are having and as long as they are not against the natural order of things I can try and help you out." "Also, I need information on the Mellen family, all the intelligence and news you can gather about the Mellen family can be collated for me."
A shocked and delighted expression appeared on the faces of Carl and the other seven. Those of them who fancied themselves as demon servants, ever since they summoned this Lord Demon's Son, even though the Lord Demon's Son acted differently from what they imagined in every way, it made them feel comfortable in their hearts and inexplicably had a lot of confidence in this Lord Demon's Son. Although they also thought it was a bit strange that a demon would make people feel comfortable, they thought it was fine.
"And," Shaun added after a pause, "find another cook and maid who are good with their hands, honestly ."
Hearing Shaun's words Iris couldn't help a light smile rippling at the corners of her mouth.
"My lord, I have a bit of information about the Mellen family." A Viscount named Florian among the seven said cautiously.
"Tell me." Shaun nodded.
"The Mellen family is one of the oldest families in Europe, although they are not one of the several royal families, their power and influence is completely no less than these royal families, it's just that they are good at hiding behind the scenes and using their explicit power to sway the world." Viscount Florian said.
"That's right, walk through it and leave a trail." Shaun said in his mind and with his mouth, "Continue."
"I know something about them because my ancestor served them briefly, but then dared not serve them anymore after learning a Meren family secret." Viscount Florian continued.
"That secret was:The Mellen family believed in a foreign god. That is an evil god that is not within any known beliefs and is very frightening." Viscount Florian broke out in a cold sweat as he said, "This secret has been passed down from generation to generation by the succeeding family patriarchs since my ancestor, and along with this secret there is also a sentence that has been passed down:Don't mess with the Mellen family, and don't co-operate with them."
Shaun thought to himself: "That's one of the reasons you worship demons, isn't it, to be sheltered by another powerful force." On his lips, he said: "That's exactly why I asked you to gather information about the Mellen family. As I said, to clarify the world and bring these twisted believers in other gods back under the shroud of darkness, or, destroy them."
The seven stood at attention and responded, "As you command, my lord!"
Shaun said softly, "This is it for now, in the future you avoid coming here together, I will summon you if I need you." In fact, Shaun himself was wondering how to solve the problem of summoning his servants.
Seven carriages parked in different locations without insignia left one after another. Shaun stood in front of the window, looking out of the window at the moonlight spilling onto the grass in the front yard, thinking about what Viscount Florian said just now: "It seems that the Mellen family and the remaining eight families are even more bizarre than I thoughtI chose not to fight them squarely at the beginning stage, but to improve my own power first is correct."
"Putting your life on the line in order to get the secret stone, then go and penetrate the secret organisation of the nine families and destroy this alliance from within. For now it looks like the best option."
"Let's see if we can get something out of the London trip." Shaun looked at the bright moonlight outside the window with some anticipation in his heart.
After Carl and the others left, Iris went back to her room to rest. Shaun switched off the incandescent lamp in the living room and stood in the moonlight to think.
"After getting the Secret Stone of Time, I really didn't feel that the ability of the Secret Stone of Time and the Secret Stone of Fire produced a superposition, is it completely incapable of superposition? Or does it require some kind of condition?"
"This trip to London needs the help of the Secret Stone of Time, when the time comes to try out the other ways of using the Secret Stone of Time, the interaction with the ability of the Secret Stone of Fire, and where the upper limit actually is."
Shaun's gaze turned to the moon in the sky, remembering his original time period. "If it doesn't work here, the original time-space will be destroyed by Kaos, right? What does Kaos have to do with the evil god that the Meren family has always believed in?"
Shaun looked away from the moon in this time and space, but the moon couldn't give him an answer either.
After an unknown amount of time, Shaun fell into a deep sleep on the couch in the living room.
