Viviana's attention was still immersed in the game until suddenly, there was a screeching loud sound banging her eardrums, then everywhere became quiet and her surroundings changed. She saw herself on the hospital rooftop, similar to the dream she had of the lonesome girl. The was a girl standing at the edge, similar to her dream scene. The girl turned around, sensing her presence and for the first time, Viviana could recognize the face vividly, it was indeed Chelsea. Chelsea's face was wet with tears, and she said something which Viviana couldn't hear clearly but was able to read her lips since her face was clear. It was,' I won't let them kill her.'
Subsequently, a very bright light illuminated the area and Viviana was back in Kyle's room, where she was playing FIFA with Kyle. Kyle was in front of her face, waving at her and saying something inaudible. It seemed like he was screaming, but Viviana could not hear his voice when she initially became aware of her environment again, Everything was confusing for a bit for a while until she was able to regain her senses.
" Viviana! Viviana! Are you okay? " She finally heard what Kyle was saying. He was waving at her, trying to get her attention. " "I can hear you, I'm doing well, just okay," she whispered, trying to digest what just happened to her. ' What just happened, why was I suddenly on the rooftop, and now I am here, was that a dream or a vision.' her mind started wandering while she had a dream while she was awake. She could still feel the cool breeze on her skin, it felt like she was right there and not a dream.
Kyle saw the confused look on Vivi's face and started to panic again about what just happened. They were playing a match until suddenly Viviana's phone dropped from her hand, and it was like she blanked out. He kept calling her name to get her attention, but she was unresponsive for some time, and now she was in deep thought. That's strange. " Earth to Viviana," he called out, snapping his fingers at Viviana to get her attention.
The snapping sound pulled Viviana from her thoughts. " Please excuse that, can you, please pass me the water," she asked Kyle, pointing at a bottle of water on the side table beside the bed. Kyle was a little worried because of Viviana's strange behaviour. "I'm not sure what happened; I simply lost focus."
" Are you sure you don't want me to call for help?" Kyle inquired because he had this strange feeling in his chest that something was wrong. " No need for that, I just need to recollect myself for a while." Viviana insisted on not calling for any help.
" Why do you guys look like you just had a love confession," Chelsea's voice rang out, teasing them. Kyle and Viviana both felt awkward by Chelsea's tease. When did she get in here, they both wonder? " You both seem like you were doing something bad," Chelsea faked a displeased expression as she continued teasing them.
" What are you talking about? Stop making false claims, nothing like that happened." Viviana was startled and had to defend herself. Kyle was still concerned about Viviana's strange behaviour and didn't have the patience to condole Chelsea's teasing, so he immediately snapped at her. " What are you doing here, don't you know how to knock?"
Chelsea could sense something was off since she wasn't expecting this reaction because when she normally teased Viviana and Kyle, they normally just laughed about it like it was a joke. "Sure, stop acting like it's a big deal. I've teased you before, why react so rudely? Chelsea pursed her lips in a sign of feeling wronged. "Stop keeping a grumpy look and cheer up, by the way, I have good news. Something nice happened today." Chelsea deliberately sat in between Kyle and Viviana because she was trying to annoy Kyle.
" At least pretend to be excited," Chelsea frowned at her spectators' lack of enthusiasm, but her mood immediately cheered up again because of the pleasant news she heard today. " I think you know Sarah, the girl who has the same condition as me. I prefer not to delve into the specifics of my condition, but it's also uncommon. Like you guys but with a higher rate of survival of about 10 percent. So, by the way, Sarah was recently cleared to be eligible for a heart transplant, and it was confirmed today that a matching heart is available, so her surgery has already been scheduled to be in a month. I am so happy for her." Chelsea was so excited she started clapping.
Viviana was also happy that the ward would soon have one less patient. " That's great news," Viviana chimed also excited and Kyle nodded in agreement. " So that's why you couldn't contain yourself. At Least some people's treatment is working as it should." Kyle chirped in.
Chelsea slapped Kyle's hand playfully before saying, " Don't be like that, this hospital is great. Treatments are going well, the only thing keeping me is that we haven't been able to find a compatible heart. If not, I would have been out of here years ago, and you should be happy for Sarah. She is a lucky girl. not only has her treatment cost been covered by a philanthropist because it was too expensive for her insurance but in less than a year she has been able to find a matching heart. Even though I don't get a transplant, there is still a chance that the treatment might heal my heart, so fingers crossed." Chelsea crossed her fingers with her hands raised.
" This is the best Valentine's Day ever." She continued ranting on talking about how happy she was and Viviana joyfully participated, but Kyle was idle without putting in any of his opinion until there was a knock on the door then a nurse came in. " Chelsea, there you are I was sure I heard your voice. Your parents came to visit you." The nurse informed Chelsea. She was the nurse in charge of Chelsea.
Chelsea was shocked at her parents' sudden visit because since they live in another city, they hardly come unannounced. " My parents are here to see me when it isn't my birthday or anything special is happening." She said in disbelief.
" Yes, they are here to see you and have been waiting for a while in your room since you were not there. Please don't keep them waiting any longer." The nurse affirmed. " Alright, my fans or should I rather say love birds, my lady and lord await my presence, so I have to take my leave now." Chelsea jokes before stepping out with her nurse.
" That's strange," Kyle commented after Chelsea's departure. " What's strange about her parents' visit."
" Well, I have known Chelsea for six years. she has been here, and her parents barely visit because of how far they live and their busy schedules. I could count the days they have been here, and they only visit on her birthday or during the festive period and to note they were here last month because of the new year." Kyle explained in detail.
" So, what are you trying to say…" Viviana replies with a puzzled look because normally Kyle doesn't care much about other people's business. " I am not implying anything it is just strange, but it is none of my business just concerned because Chelsea is my friend. I am feeling tired already." He stated.
" Even me too I feel tired. I think I should head to my room, neighbour. Don't think much about Chelsea, as you said it is none of your business." Viviana advised with a concerned tone as she stood up from the bed. " See you later on the rooftop, right? Which time exactly." She asked as she was about to open the door.
"8 pm the Valentine's special display is by then. It is nice and one of the few things I enjoyed during my long stay here." Kyle replied. " You don't have to be grumpy every time, Mr Xavier. I feel you are not so happy about Sarah." Viviana stated her concern because she observed Kyle wasn't pleased about Sarah's good news. She knew something had been bothering Kyle since she met him, but he refused to tell her what it was, and she had this gut feeling that it was dreadful news.
Kyle had a fleeting shocked look on his face but he was able to immediately compose himself. He believed he managed his emotions adeptly, so it surprised him when she sensed an unusual undercurrent. He chose not to respond to her, as the complexity of his current feelings made it challenging. Honestly, he wasn't one hundred per cent happy with Sarah's success in finding a compactible heart, he just can't help but feel a little bit sad.
Viviana knew Kyle wasn't ready to reply to her so she bid him farewell before leaving the room. " I don't know what going on with you but I know everything would be alright. See you later I got to go."
When Viviana got to her room her mind started wandering about the strange dream-like trance she had. It was totally strange. It felt like she was on the rooftop with Chelsea and not in a dream. Was something bad going to happen to Chelsea? She didn't want to overwhelm herself with the strange phenomenon so she decided to go online to chat with her friends from school. Julian, Scarlett, Zoe and Khalid on their private group chat on WhatsApp.
Afterwards, they organized a video conference to discuss the school drama sparked by Valentine's Day. Their gathering lifted Viviana's spirits.
