Chapter 6 - The Truth part 2

The room atmosphere was dull and depressing. It seemed like the temperature had suddenly dropped even though the heater was on, since it was during winter in January.

No one could make a sound. Everyone minds had so many thoughts going through their mind at once.

Lorenzo broke the silence and spoke," I know it seems like the world is coming to an end, but as long as there is life, there is hope. I was informed by the doctor that the central hospital had a specialist ward with many specialist doctors who handle rare cases like Viviana's. Moreover, presently there is an international specialist who learned under the guidance of many renowned doctors who have done who have done great feats in the medical industry, and she has gained enough experience presently putting now at the peak of her career, making her a renowned doctor that is presently working there and even if she's not enough we can also go abroad to meet other specialists so hopefully will be okay. As I said before, we still have hope ".

At last, Viviana couldn't contain herself any longer; the barrier holding back her tears collapsed, and they streamed down her face. Lorenzo hurried to her side, embracing her tightly in an attempt to comfort her with his warm hug.

She started crying and wailing," I don't want to die, I don't want to die, Daddy, please tell me that it is a bad joke and this is all just a long nightmare I am stuck in. I want to wake up from this nightmare, daddy I can't die, you won't let me die would you?"

Lorenzo hugged her tighter. He would rather not give her false hope, he didn't really know what to say presently except for" you won't die Vivi, I won't let you down". He lifted her face to stare right through her eyes. " Look into my eyes dear, you know I'm not lying, I will not let you down, I will do everything humanly possible to save you."

Upon hearing her father's words vivi finally broke down and continued crying. Lorenzo held her tightly in his her in his arms, trying his best to comfort her but not too tight to suffocate her, and she still needed to breathe. She buried her face on her father's chest in his warm embrace and poured out her heart because right now, except from crying, there's nothing else she can do. She felt so powerless and drained.

All this while, Theo was too shocked and trucked by the news to move a muscle or say a word. He just stood at a point and watched everything unfold. The exchange between Vivi and their father. Yes, he suspected things to be bad, but not this bad, he gave himself false hope that it wouldn't be hopeless. Disease with less than one percent survival rate like who are you kidding that is a death sentence. In all 15 years of his life, he has never been in such a hopeless situation. He always thought that he was smart and no matter the challenge, he would think of a way to maneuver it, but he was so wrong. Neither would the odds will not always be in your favor at times nor would be able to bend it to your favor. ' I guess this is why they trouble comes to Every man, rich and poor, no matter the color or size, and they were so right' he thought.

He took a deep breath to gather his thoughts and left the room. Vivi was still crying in her father's embrace when he left.He took his backpack from one of the guards outside the room and headed to the elevator, he needed some space to breathe properly, the air in the hospital felt too suffocating for him. It was choking him down in his throat and got his tongue-tied.

He got to the packing lot, pulled out his helmet from his bag and got on his power bike. He started the engine and rode as fast as he could. Not only that, but he needed to get far away from this hospital, far away from this buzzing city. Everything was loud for him, he required silence.

He rode past multiple red lights but he did not give a fuck about anything, he just rode farther away. After all, it was almost midnight. Although the city was always busy, that particular night it was weird as the streets were relatively empty. He rode out of the city to the woods, he crossed over the bridge to the Marino Island. He rode still, he got to a spot on a side of the island that faced the city where he Normally loved coming to. It was a Cliff that faced the ocean and the mainland. He stopped his bike and got off, dropped his bag and helmet on the floor and walked towards the ocean. Facing the ocean, he screamed his lungs out. He had to let it all out, every in his chest. He would rather not break down in front of Vivi that's why he ran away as fast as he could before he broke down. Not only that, but he would rather not leave her alone, but he needed to go. He screamed so loud that all the bats and crows within the vicinity or rather around the trees in the area flew away.

After screaming still, his lungs felt like all the air had been squeezed out of it. He dropped on his knees and started crying. The tears kept falling like an endless stream, he couldn't stop it. It felt beyond his control. His eyes continued to water, and he was unable to control it. He can't even remember when last he cried like this. He was always strong. He had to be strong not just for his sake but also Vivi's. Since they were little, he had been their main emotional support since their father was always busy with the company, and they didn't have a mother. He was a genius from a very young age and understood the adults around him and things above his age. It made him to carry responsibility bigger than his age, but nothing had ever hurt him like this.

Finally, after he cried still no tears could form again and all his raging emotions have calmed down. He let out all his frustrations, but it didn't change a thing because the problem was still there. He stared at the night still, he got tired of it. Likewise, he wasn't bothered by the cold either.

After a while, he stood up then picked up his bag and helmet, checked the time on his wristwatch only to realize how late it was. The time was already 1 am.

After organizing his thoughts, he got on his bike and rode to the manor.
