Never bow down to the devil, make the devil bow down to you.

[Izuku's POV]

I was sitting in class, tuning out my teacher's science lecture. I didn't need to listen—I already knew this material inside out. My mind wandered back to my vigilante escapades, a series of events that had put me in an exceptionally good mood. Curious? Let me take you back to how it all happened...

[Flashback]

I was perched atop a building, listening intently for any disturbances through the comms. A sudden chill ran down my spine, and I dodged just in time to avoid an attack from a long fabric scarf. I halted a good distance away and identified my assailant instantly—Shota Aizawa, aka Eraserhead.

He stared at me through his goggles, likely using his quirk Erasure, which temporarily nullifies the quirk of anyone he sees, though it doesn't work on mutant types. The downside? Dry eyes, making him blink more frequently with continuous use.

"Vigilante Silent, you are under arrest for vigilantism and theft," he declared.

I responded by grabbing my dual tonfas and unsheathing the blades. Anticipating this encounter, I had prepared weapons that could slice through steel wire alloy and carbon nanofibers. We charged at each other—Eraserhead with his binding cloth, me with my blades. He was surprised when my tonfas easily cut through his scarf. He tried to disarm me, but I backflipped out of his reach and used the repulsors in my feet to close the distance.

I shot strings towards him, and despite his efforts to dodge, he ended up wrapped tightly like a cocoon. His attempts to cut the strings with his dagger were futile.

"Don't even try; they're too thick to be cut."

"You won't always get away with this," he growled.

"You heroes are welcome to try."

I delivered a precise chop to his neck, knocking him out, and used his scarf to tie him to a lamp post, leaving him dangling.

'He's going to be so pissed when he wakes up,' I thought, laughing as I asked some onlookers to take a picture of me with the unconscious Aizawa—a keepsake for my efforts.

[End of Flashback]

When I saw the news report about this, I couldn't stop laughing. My mom was puzzled by my outburst until I showed her the report, which made her chuckle too.

I bet he's fuming right now. But enough of that—I needed to head to the garage condo to work on a new device that could temporarily erase a quirk.

As soon as the bell rang, I texted Mom to let her know I'd be at the garage condo and headed straight there. Once I arrived, I gathered the necessary materials and started studying Eraserhead's quirk. I theorized that his eyes emitted electromagnetic waves similar to infrared, which attacked the quirk factor to nullify a quirk temporarily.

If I could create an infrared flashlight, I could nullify a quirk by shining it at someone. I also considered making a device that produced its own EM waves and controlled their output. I decided to start by turning my suit's eyes into infrared emitters. The thought of my suit's eyes glowing red, like the Iron Spider's instant kill mode, excited me, and I set to work on the Infrared Quirk Nullifier prototype 0.1.

After three hours, the IQN was ready for testing. I even made an IQN flashlight for emergencies. However, the EM waves interfered with the comms signal, which took some time to fix.

Now came the real test: seeing how the IQN eyes worked in a fight and their effects on quirk users. I donned my suit and headed out.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Swinging and gliding through the air, I scouted for disturbances or illegal activities. Crime rates were so low that there were no villains to fight. I landed on a building and sighed.
'Looks like there aren't any villains to test my IQN eyes on.'
Just as I was about to call it a night, a girl's voice called out behind me.
"Hey there," she said casually.
I turned to see her. She was a fair-skinned girl of average height with wide, curious eyes, long eyelashes, and royal blue irises. Her periwinkle hair reached down to her knees, twisting around her waist, and framing her face with side-swept bangs. Her hero costume was a royal blue bodysuit with mint green and turquoise markings, knee-high boots, yellow gauntlets, and wrist guards. Spiraling horns of hair protruded from behind her ears.
She was Nejire Hado, aka Pro Hero Nejire-Chan. Despite her questionable hero name, her calm and cheerful demeanor was unmistakable.
"You know you're very much wanted for vigilantism and theft, right?" she said.
I didn't reply. Instead, I activated my IQN eyes, and her quirk was instantly nullified. She fell to the ground in shock, quickly standing up and putting her guard up. She tried to use her quirk again but failed.
"It's no use. Your quirk is gone."
I was thrilled that my creation worked! This would be my trump card against strong opponents, though there was still room for improvement.
"You have a quirk that can erase someone else's quirk, like Eraserhead," she observed.
I didn't reply and charged at her, engaging in hand-to-hand combat. She dodged, blocked, and countered with her own attacks, which I easily evaded. Despite her stamina and durability, my experience with stronger opponents gave me the upper hand. I was holding back.
"Playtime is over."
I delivered a punch to her face and a kick to her abdomen, knocking the air out of her. She clutched her abdomen in pain but stood defiant.
"You are strong..."
I shot multiple strings towards her, wrapping her up.
"...but I am beyond strength."
She struggled to break free but eventually gave up.
"So, are you going to do lewd things to me?" she asked with curiosity.
"Not interested," I replied flatly, thankful my mask hid my small blush. Damn teenage hormones.
"You could be a great hero if you surrendered to the authorities and allowed yourself to be rehabilitated," she suggested.
"The title of Hero should be given to those who have shown true heroic deeds. I am unworthy of such a title, as are you."
I believed that only those who truly demonstrated heroism deserved the title of Hero. It disgusted me how easily people handed it out.
I delivered a final chop to her neck, knocking her out. I removed the strings and flew home for the night.
