When I was a kid my father used to say that when the going gets tough, and you can't take the pain and pressure to continue, remember to always be hopeful for there is always light at the end of the tunnel. At first, I wasn't sure or aware that the words he echoed would feel true in the future until I experienced that future going in. My life began thanks to a very powerful yet kind and thoughtful woman named Maria Chineye Hasani. A woman who grew up in a world she didn't expect and it was difficult for her but she made the best of it from what she could. 

Maria was born out of an affair with a very wealthy man who seemed lost due to his successes and wanted to leave his lavish life behind to start a life with simplicity and less complexity. That man was named Adorn Obuya Hasani and he wanted an escape from his boring cyclical and tiring life. Adorn is tall and muscular dark olive skin tone a beard and a quite huge set of hair, he was one of the best-raising businessmen who turned his family's multi-millionaire dollar business into a multi-billion dollar business within nine years. Adorn becomes tired as he realizes how terrible and ugly the world of a billionaire can be. He noticed the level of greed and power that people had and how no one cared about the important aspects of community, love, friendship and care for each other. He realized that the people who were closest to him were people who didn't care about him or the things he was most proud of. 

During a board meeting, Adorn started to notice how the board of directors were behaving when they were biding to require a new company as part of the company group.

"Well Adorn you have done it again, said the board member." Adorn had a look of a fake smile while he gave the board member a very cold state.

"This will be good for our company considering we would grow not only our profit margins by 15% but also add an increase to the economy of our great state of Nyake stated the second board member" Adorn then looked at the other board member and sighs while he stares at the window with the file of the projects in hand. The other board members continue to discuss as Adorn thinks of a way to leave the company just for a while to get away from the company environment. 

After the meeting, Adorn then decides to go back to his office and decides to take a break and decides to leave the office and tell his secretary to clear his schedule.

"Miss Stacy I'm leaving please cancel my scheduled meetings and any other prior engagements I'm leaving the office," Adorn remarked. "Yes sir, and sir you're wife called and she left a message asking when you leave the office, should I say you're on your way?" Stacy questioned. Adorn sighed for a while as he picked up his blazer from his chair. "No Stacy tell her I'll be late for dinner again, tell Alan to warm up the engine, ''Adorn answered. 

Adorn then leaves his office and heads to the parking lot where his driver Alan is waiting for him. He then leaves and goes to a recreational centre where he spends his time doing his hobby of making art. He has always had a passion for painting and playing music and it's a place that very few people know for him to just relax and unwind. He also likes to talk and music to a popular female musician named Caroline Najuma. Adorn would always feel at peace when he was with her and he enjoyed talking to having some company that wasn't full of people with greedy, selfish and unfriendly. Caroline never asked anything from Adorn and this made him happy. 

During their conversations of "what ifs" Adorn and Caroline would always talk about their life if they had a different life, as they sat at the coach on top of the penthouse suite of the recreational centre with Adorn and a gutter in hand. "What would life look like if Caroline wasn't a singer/musician and didn't meet her husband during her music tours, How would life look like for you," Adorn implied. Caroline who was lying on Adorn's lap suddenly got up and then looked at Adorn. 

"Well I have always wanted to be a farmer," Caroline answered. Adorn is shocked by Caroline's answer as he bellows in laughter as he didn't expect that answer, and Caroline starts to frown. "A farmer?" Adorn asked, with a smile on his face. "Stop it Addy it's not that funny, Caroline exclaimed frowning

Adorn then apologized for his outburst of laughter as he walked to the piano and started to play a song he composed. Caroline was so mesmerized by the music that she started to write a new song. After they were done, Caroline then asked the what-if questions. "What if you never were a businessman, what would you be?" Caroline asked. "I will be an artist of any kind, a painter, a musician you name it, I would do it because it gives a freedom I thought I never needed," Adorn replied. Caroline smiled and told him of a village that he would enjoy visiting called Taji, where there is freedom of exploration and another avenue so that he can be free from the burden of being part of the big corporation his in. Adorn then remembered that he had heard of that village from his friend in high school and that he called in for a visit, but couldn't get the chance because he was busy with his company. 

Then Adorn starts his journey to the Taji village and sees for himself what Caroline described is true. To maintain anonymity he went without his driver and drove himself to the village with an old car he had to the village. He arrived in the village with warm sunlight with a wide murram road. He continued to drive and he saw the stature of their leader and founder of the village Taji. He then continued to the restaurant to eat some food since he drove nonstop. He enters the hotel to order the food and he remembers the food he ate with his driver Alan which he enjoyed. A woman by the name of Alicia who has an olive-brown skin tone a curvaceous body and an innocent face walks by the table Adorn is at and is very impressed by her and wants to talk to her. She then asks Adorn what he wants to eat which makes Adorn tongue-tied. 

"May I take your order sir?" asked Alicia. Adorn picks up the menu 

"u..um.. mhm, aah yes I will have this one, Adorn replied. 

"Good choice sir, please wait for your order for a few minutes, is that okay?" Alicia questioned. 

"It's okay I'll wait Thank you miss..." Adorn exclaimed

"Alicia, my name is Alicia," Alicia responded. 

Alicia then goes to the kitchen to take the order for Adorn. Adorn is infatuated by Alicia as she walks to the kitchen. Adorn then realizes the glares at him from the rest of the men in the restaurant. Adorn smirks as he waits for his food. Alicia then comes with the food and then Adorn starts to engage in conversation with Alicia, who already starts to feel uncomfortable. Adorn realizing her uncomfortableness decides to end the conversation and continues to eat his food while he looks for a guide for the village. After finishing Adorn asks what time she leaves for work. 

Adorn kept pursuing Alicia while looking for a guide. He continues to pursue Alicia even when Alicia rejects him. Adorn then gets attacked by the local village men who are pursuing Alicia but is overwhelmed by Adorn who knows how to defend himself from a situation like this. Adorn then goes to the village clinic to be checked and coincidentally meets up with Alicia. She is shocked to see Adorn in a bruised state by which Adorn states that he will be alright. Adorn goes back to his car and calls his secretary and Tony who let them know that he won't be coming to work in the coming weeks. Then he calls his wife Rukiya who is frustrated and angry with Adorn. 

"Adorn Obuya Hasani, where have you been, you can't leave me here tending to the children alone," Rukiya growled 

"Oh come on Rukiya, the nannies take care of the children not you, and you not that for a fact." Adorn answered. 

"Don't you dare accuse me of not caring for my children, I'm a better parent of my four kids than you will ever be, said Rukiya."

"Four? Don't you mean six and nobody accused you of being a terrible parent, Adorn replied. 

"Amani is a stupid child that I have no interest in and Annan is your child with that whore of a maid you had living in our house, Rukiya answered"

"Watch your tongue woman and don't dare talk ill about my sons again do you hear me? I'm not coming home for a couple of weeks so don't bother calling, adorn answered angrily."

Adorn then gets frustrated after the call and drives back to the lodging to relax and be free from his burden of thinking of a way to live in peace. Meanwhile, Rukiya is frustrated and almost in tears while sitting on the couch of a penthouse suite while a man in a bathrobe comes carrying two glasses of wine. He puts the wine glasses down and then Confronts Rukiya. The man is named Edwin Balozi, one of the board of directors at Adorn Group Limited. 

"I can't believe this man, how dare he treat me like this, I'm his wife for crying out loud, how dare he, Rukiya cried" 

"It's okay my lovely flower forget about him and just relax and enjoy the night, Edwin answered,

"But. Why does he treat me this way, I'm not that bad of a person, I just want a happy marriage and a strong stable family, I work hard too for the family and the company, ''Rukiya said mournfully

"I understand you Rukiya, Don't worry about anything. Tonight it's just me and you, forget about everything and just relax okay." Edwin responded thoughtfully

Edwin then gives Rukiya, a glass of the wine and they share a romantic and sensual evening as they lay in bed. The next morning Adorn was at the lodge and he was preparing to take a tour of the city. He then steps out and finds Alicia waiting at the lobby of the lodge to come and talk to Adorn about the men who attacked him. Alicia felt concerned and that it was his fault for Adorn to be attacked and came to apologize on their behalf. 

"Hello Mr Adorn, I wanted to apologize for what happened to you. Those men just don't take kindly to strangers and would rather use their fists than their words," Alicia remarked

"Well for starters Miss Alicia call me Adorn or Addy for short, and second if they're man enough they should come and talk to me and apologize directly shouldn't they?" Adorn questioned

"Well, Mr Ado...I mean Adorn I came on my own and I don't speak on their behalf about their manliness. All I know is that your presence may cause more trouble and I would like it if you would live for your sake and the rest of the village." Alicia remarked

"Okay fine I will leave the village, Adorn responded

"If you don't want to leave…I'm sorry what? Alicia questioned while confused

"I said I would leave the village but under one condition," Adorn responded

"What is it," Alicia exclaimed

"I need a guide to the village, I want to explore the ins and outs of Taji and why it's praised so much among a lot of people," Adorn responded

"Okay fine and after that will you leave the village right?" Alicia questioned 

"Sure of course I will, after I visit the village orphanage last," Adorn replied

"Fine I will be your guide for two days and then you can leave, Alicia exclaimed

"Fantastic then it's a deal," Adorn answered

Adorn then leaves with Alicia and they begin the journey with Adorn's old car. They first start visiting the restaurant and then they continue to the rest of the village. They drive through the village centre and then stop by the market. Alicia walks with Adorn as they visit different stalls and places at the market. Adorn then buys some foodstuff for the kids in the orphanage while buying some fruits for Alicia and other food items that she needs. Alicia of course rejected them and they finally finished with the market and decided to go to the orphanage. They then go to Alicia's home as it was getting late. Adorn then drops Alicia close to his home. Alicia insists on not letting her be seen by her parents who are very protective and judgmental of who she sees. 

"Miss Alicia I can just drop you off at your home, it's no problem," Adorn remarked

"No please don't, I don't want a confrontation from my parents. I'm sure word already spread that I spent my day off with you. Let's finish our tour tomorrow," Alicia replied

"Okay I understand see you tomorrow," Adorn replied

Adorn then left Alicia and headed to the orphanage where he met the caretaker of the orphanage and was a high school friend named Benson Salene. Benson was a kind, generous but very strict man who was average in height but with some weight on him, and a lighter olive skin tone who was highly opinionated about the status of the village and the villagers. He would always criticize how the village would quickly abandon the orphans even though they claimed to follow the ideals of the founder named Taji. He was frustrated that he had to use outside help and that's called Adorn to come help with most of the issues concerning the orphanage. Adorn came with the foodstuff that Alicia was to bring and Benson appreciated the gesture. They then walk into Benson's private quarters within the orphanage to talk about the state of the orphanage. 

"I heard that some of the village men were talking about how they were attacked by an angry lion and not a man. As soon as I heard that I knew it was you they were talking about. Only Adorn the lion cub of Seghen would be that furious," Benson remarked

"Aah stop it, Ben, you know that was just a nickname that someone fashioned out of mere exaggeration," Adorn remarked

"Come on Addy you defeated six men in high school remember the Habithi incident?" Benson questioned.

"As I recall Ben we were both in high school when that incident happened, also those were not men but just punks that wanted to cause trouble remember," Adorn remarked

"Yes I remember and I remember when you saved my life from those punks and for that I thank you young cub," Ben replied 

"Okay, Ben why am I here? I hope it's not because we are going a trip down memory lane now are we?" Adorn replied

"No no no you're right let's get down to business. The orphanage might be closing down due to a new company that wants to build a new mall in the village. The villagers don't want the mall, but the developer has insisted that he has the title deed and everything to do so," Benson remarked

"What's the name of the firm, Ben Adorn replied

"They are called the Phoenix Corporation, Ben remarked

Adorn was surprised by the name of the company but was pleased by it because the company, was the one that messed up an important deal that would have made the company a lot of money and also focused on a very important project for the Adorn company which was the Adorn Foundation. Adorn didn't want to work but considering the company that wants to close the orphanage is the same company that is a huge business rival that wanted to make a mockery of the Adorn firm. Adorn then decides to help Benson so that the orphanage doesn't close and the kids in the orphanage get the help they need. 

"So Benson, when will the Phoenix firm come to close the orphanage," Adorn remarked

"They give me a week and they will shut me down for good," Benson replied

"Don't worry Ben I'm not going to let that happen, Adorn exclaimed

Adorn then begins to set up a plan for how he will take out Phoenix and help the orphanage not get shut down completely. The next day Adorn and Alicia head out to the village again to continue their tour to the village. Once they finish Alicia shows Adorn her favourite spot on top of a hill with a full view of the village. She then tells Adorn that she enjoys coming to the spot on top of the hill where there is an acacia tree that looks down on the village. Alicia loves to come to that spot to relax and enjoy the scenery while also drawing her usual fashion design clothes. She enjoys working there while looking at the village. It's what draws her inspiration.

Meanwhile, a well-known member of the society named Fred Zakia who is tall, well-built and with close-shaven hair, was a prominent leader of society who is the son of the village chief. He has a small business in the village and he is always obsessed with getting money no matter the cost. He hates his father's philosophy on harmony and togetherness, the ideals set by Taji and doesn't want to live in a village that is always backwards. He made a deal with the Phoenix corporation to build the mall and help his village become more developed and grow into a popular and economically strong community. He has also been pursuing Alicia and has been asking for their parent's blessing for her hand in marriage, even though Alicia doesn't approve of the engagement, Fred still keeps pursuing her. Due to his absences, Fred wasn't aware of Alicia hanging out with Adorn until he was told by one of his friends that Alicia was with another man. Of course, driven by jealousy, Fred decides to go confront Alicia and that's when he meets Adorn by the restaurant. He approaches Adorn's table and sits next to him when Adorn is waiting for his food.

"You must be the new kid in town, I'm Fred Zakia son of Jabari Zakia the chief of Taji, and you're, Fred stated

"New Kid? Does the chief's son lack manners or did his father not teach him any manner," Adorn replied.

"I apologize sir we don't get a lot of visitors though that has seemed to change of late. How about lunch, my treat, sorry I didn't catch you're name. Fred Answered

"It's Adorn, son of Seghen the Lion, I would shake your hand but my hands just seem to be allergic to trash. And no I will pay for my lunch today thank you. Adorn replied.

Just when Fred is enveloped with anger, Alicia comes to serve Adorn and is shocked to see Fred in front of her. She feels very uneasy as Fred smiles at her with glee. Fred tries to approach her as Alicia steps back which Fred starts to notice and feels dejected, but Adorn breaks the tension and casually orders While Alicia takes down his order. Fred then greats Alicia and prepares to live while seemingly indirectly threatens Adorn who isn't even phased.

"I guess I will take my leave then Alicia see you later, Fred exclaimed as he left the restaurant.

"Oh and the son of a Lion watch you're back, you might get attacked by a bunch of hyenas," Fred stated with a smile.

"Oh you don't worry yourself, Son of Chief, cowardly hyenas are no match for the courageous lion. Adorn stated with a sharp gaze that made Fred feel a little uncomfortable.

Alicia then sits next to Adorn and insists that Adorn should leave because Fred is a very dangerous person that might hurt him. Adorn then tells Alicia that he has met far worse men than him and is always used to people attacking him for what he has. He has lived in different dangerous worlds to be strong and isn't fazed by empty threats that Fred has shown and he isn't leaving until he helps a friend with the orphanage. Alicia then tells Adorn that he has to be careful around him, but Adorn kept asking if Alicia was okay considering her uneasiness and uncomfortableness when she saw Fred.

Meanwhile, back in the city, a very rotund woman with a light ebony complexation and a very tight-fitting dress with elegant work, arrives at the mansion ready to continue her work and find newer clients, for the Adorn group. The woman named Rukiya then gets greeted by several maids as she is greeted with a warm comfortable greeting. She then arrives at the living room area where she meets a young five-year-old boy playing with two of his younger sisters. She quickly rushes to hug the young boy first while the two girls also rush to their mother. Rukiya is smiling and overjoyed to see her children. A baby is sleeping by the carriage while a maid named Bavana, who is a very petite woman and very well-mannered and timid tends to the young child named Amani. She then gets a call from the office from Edwin that the CEO of the company is planning a new deal for a new advertising and entertainment firm to be a subsidiary of the Adorn group.

"Rukiya, have you heard the news of the new acquisition?" Edwin questioned

"What News? Edwin, what are talking about?" Rukiya replied.

"You're husband just acquired a new company to add to the group, apparently the company needs it for a better outlook and representation," Edwin responded.

"Edwin that shouldn't shock you, insist this is what he always does, buy companies then sell them to the highest bidder. What new company has the company bought now, another small construction company, another hotel, which one?" Rukiya questioned nonchalant

"I hope you're sitting down for this, Adorn group now fully owns Calisto entertainment and advertising firm. The acquisition signing will be signed in four weeks times." Edwin stated

"What? But we already have an advertising firm. My Blue Angels Firm is still working and we have newer clients coming in. We will be back in business in no time." Rukiya responded.

"Oooh my beautiful lovely flower, you haven't heard, haven't you? The Blue Angels will be sold in three days. Daniel Sentwaki our CEO and Adorn's poster boy has already made plans for the sale."

"WHAT? HE CAN'T DO THIS TO ME, BLUE ANGEL IS MINE," Rukiya shouted.

"Now calm down my flower, there are still three days remaining, we can still turn things around, please meet me at our usual place and see if we can find a solution to this problem okay," Edwin responded.

Rukiya isn't even listening and hangs up the phone and then calls Bavana who gets the wrath of Rukiya as she tells her to take Amani who is crying. Bavana then takes Amani to the servant's quarter and tends to both Amani and her year-old baby named Jata who came as a consequence of an affair with Adorn. Later in the day, Rukiya's anger becomes so overbearing that she decides to chase out Bavana together with her baby Jata. Rukiya then Ordered Alan to take out the trash and never see Bavana ever again. The other kids who grew fond of Bavana kept pleading with their mother but all that fell on deaf ears as Bavana was drugged outside by Rukiya with the help of the other maids that didn't like Bavana. Alan took Bavana to his two floored Bungalow and created a comfortable environment for her. Bavana decides to stay there for a while, while Alan calls Adorn but doesn't pick up his phone.
