Chapter 1 - THE END

He stared at me with discomfort like I was a complete stranger to him, "Why are you holding onto my jacket?" He asked, turning back to look at me.

"So you wouldn't leave me this time, Jackson," I said, already at the edge of breaking down.

I watched as his Adam's Apple bubbed up and down, and he said, "I am no longer yours. There's nothing between us."

I kept quiet and could only stare at him as he said those harsh and painful words to me.

He didn't care whether his words hurt me or not, and that was why he continued without hesitation.

"Anita, you need to wake up from your slumber. You and I both know I have no love left for you. I can't even count the numerous amount of times I have cheated on you and you knew. You knew but you pretended you knew nothing and kept on loving me. I had to go with the flow even though I was uncomfortable," he paused to take a deep breath before he said another word but I cut him short. I was already teary and all I wanted was to try to persuade him to come back to me, "i don't care what you've done. It's all in the past. We can work this out."

"No," he shouted, "you caught a girl in my bed last night and you call that past? You and I both know I will continuously sleep with numerous girls again in the future and feel no empathy for you. I've been going with the flow for five years. I can't anymore."

I was short of words and couldn't utter a single word but just let my tears flow across my face. I fell to the ground and didn't care that we were on the street. I had already been humiliated. Few people had already gathered the scene since when Jackson had been shouting.

I stared up at him from the ground but he cared less. He faced the other way and said to me, "Bye."

I faced the floor crying my eyes out. I couldn't even watch him leave, I could only listen to his footsteps until it disappeared in the midst of the amazed crowd.
