Chapter 17 - The Signet Ring

"The ancient golden signet ring, if found, will make me the most powerful and respected king in the land of Lutua. In the past ten years, I have searched every nuck and crannies of Lutua, extending the search to the entire land of Jupiter. But to no avail, it couldn't be found. No, giving up is not an option."

Lily: "Dad, why are you still longing for power? You are well known and respected, all ready... Why want more fame? You are a great king all ready."

"My daughter, my greatness as a king without match is to get this ring. Even when I'm gone, I will still be living. I will be called the living dead if it is found in my era. It's the most precious thing I desire now.

"I understand, father. Lily now knows how important this is to her father and the entire family. For ever and ever, the family will be the most recognized and respected royal family in Jupiter. Her father will be known as the king of kings. "But have you consulted the gods on this?" She asked her father.

"Dear daughter, I have done that several times. But the gods have not unveiled it to me. It seems they have conspired against me not to have the best reign."

"Okay, father. Lily was thinking intelligently to see if there could be a way out. But I still want to ask: how did this ring in question get missed? It will help facilitate the search.

"That's so intelligent of you, my daughter. But unfortunately, not much information is gathered about how it got missed. Our elders, who were in existence during the time of the second king of Lutua, said it mysteriously got missed. No one knows how the resigning king, Ja, misplaced it. And till now, the search has been on and on for it.

Lily: "Maybe the gods hid it for a divine purpose. But I assure you, as a concerned daughter, Now that I have heard of this, I will join in the search. We must find it. I want the best for you, this family, and the entire people of Lutua.

"Thanks, daughter."

"What kept this old stuff in my bag?" Adrian was totally surprised to see an old golden ring that looks like a signet ring in his bag. He has never bought such a ring in his entire life. His father wasn't a king, so there's no way he could have inherited it from him. "This is a serious mistake. There is an inscription on it; GLJ isn't familiar at all. From where this came. And it may be for fear or curiosity. He left it unturched in his bag.

Adrain picked up his phone and dialed his mom's number. "Hello mum… trust you are good?"

"Yes, I'm your dear son. What about you?"

"I'm good too," Adrian replied to his mom. Mum, I want to ask you, Did you in any way keep a ring in my bag?"

"No, son, I have never done that. Did you find one in your bag?"

"Yes, I did. I didn't know how it got in there."

"Alright, son. Just leave it there. We will make inquiries about it.

"Thanks, mom. Good bye."

This ring that's been mysteriously kept in Adrian's bag could be that god's linked him up with Jupiter. Signifying a strong connection between the mortal and immortal worlds. May be the gods have favored him to become part of the royal family over there on Jupiter. There must be a strong reason for this. Anyway, no one can help the gods. They will surely complete what they have started.

Lily went to her room, knowing that without the help of the gods, nothing could be done. She sat down, devising means to get the job done. "I will do something to help Dad, no matter what it will cost me. I will make sure the missing signet ring is found; even if it demands I travel the world, this mission must be accomplished. The glory must not bypass this family. If others before my father couldn't achieve it, now the story has changed." These are the words of Princess Lily.

She continued and said nothing is hidden forever; it's just temporary.
