Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3 - HE WHO WAS BORN TO RULE

Since the beginning of time, the land of Galdoan peninsula was prosperous. Granted with vast plains and rich rivers, most of Galdoan tribes thrive and so settlements are started to appear one by one.

Among the numerous groups, five(5) grow incredibly larger. These groups form the independent cities of Augrun, Theiss, Stavos, Galea and Anbiel.

Anbiel, in particular is quite superior and ahead to others due to discovery of large veins of iron and other metals on their land.

Yet unlike the land of Galdoan Peninsula, the vast southern plains across Galea river they call Mican, was filled with barbaric settlements that relies on herding and unable to prosper as the region was rather dry and farming was never an option.

Due to this, Mican Barbarians relied on banditry and pillage neighboring towns to manage their growing population.

Hadd's POV

Life was never been kind to me. My humble family used to live at the edge of Galea River that farms in the territory of Theiss.

But one day, a huge horde of Mican Barbarians attacked our land and the neighboring towns as they rob the granaries.

They even dragged the captured people back to their territory included my mother and two sisters.

To get them back, my father and brother joined the Theiss army as foot soldiers. The army successfully pushed the barbarians away but father and brother never returned after. The old man that who's with them, return losing an arm and left eye. And as I asked him, only tears fall from his cheeks and keep saying sorry to me.

That day was the worst day of my life. My family was lost. In the hand of barbarians...

The rest of orphans from the attack like me, were send to work on a pottery factory in Theiss. But not too soon, it was closed down due to unknown reason.

Then nuns of Harnea Temple in Anbiel brought us with them to their city. With their help the children of war like me found comfort and hope in life.

I soon join Anbiel City guards and land a job at the castle. For another year I was then entrusted to be a steward for the only child of the City Lord.

They say he was a unique kid, but I guess he really is.

Now that I got this job I will do my best! This is the chance for me to provide for my new family. I need to pay back to the nuns that helped us.

Greon's POV

Arshell, my piggy bank is finally here!

* Creak (the door opens)

"Young lord, I've brought Mr. Niforl with me." Hadd announced.

A young man with a small built come with Hadd and nervously asked, "What can I do for you, Master..?"

I doubt it at first. But from what I recall, Arshell Niforl was a very muscular man yet not so tall but have a very intimidating aura. His not someone you could easily order around, unlike this pushover Hadd brought.

Though they resemble something in common; the kind face and excessively blistered arms from running the smithy.

He surely is the same person.

"You're the best smith here, right?" as I try finding some hint on how I would approach him.

"N-no, not at all. My boss would be mad at me if I agree on that title, Master.." he immediately reply.

Unlike his future self, he seemed very unconfident.

"I don't care. I hab job foryu (I have job for you). Look here." Harr then take the paper I drew with and show it to Niforl.

"Iron... plus Carbon? Ah from charcoal. Then, very hot temp. Wait! This hot is impossible. Forge blower, rise temp. Okay. But what's the purpose of this? Steel?" asked by the confused amateur blacksmith.

"Just do one sword through it." and I happily smirk knowing what will happen.

"I'll try my best, Master." as he leaves then.

I need to prepare fully. There are still things to do.

Hadd's POV

I don't know how this kid learn such complicated works or even how he wrote it but really, I'm amazed. But I wish he didn't just pick that from someone else.

Nevertheless, after Sir Niforl left, young master give me another task.

"Send this." he said seriously with that very cute condensing voice.

He reaches me this folded paper with his trembling short hands trying to extend it as high as he could. He really is such a cute buddy.

"What is this young lord? To Commander Harres Anbiel... Wait! You mean the general?! Your grand uncle?" I reconfirmed after being shocked to who his writing to!

The Great Commander of Anbiel army on frontline is no easy man! They say he was very ferocious that Barbarians flee from just hearing his name! I wish the young lord would not offend such an important person.

"Can you think twice, young lord?" I ask subtly.

Okay, he finally glared at me..

"I got it, yes I'll send it,"

Oh my life, I wanna cry.

*Tantara-tarararan-tara (trumpet sound)

"Uncle, you're finally home!" Besos was the first to welcome the general.

"How do you do, uncle?" Lord of Anbiel, Lord Cresos in turn welcomed the general.

On the Lord's side is the young kid who was very charismatic like a grown man.

He look upon the general and even locked eyes with him.

(Hadd whispers)

"Ahh, young lord! Please behave at least this time. Hu-hu-hu, I don't know if you really were born to rule in the future or be beheaded before you reach the right age..."
