I got up and noticed that I'm back in my room. My room.
Everything is as it was before that happened. Was it all a dream? No, it couldn't have been.
I've never fallen from such a height, so how could I have known how the wind would've felt, wrapping around me like a blanket as I fell through the air.
'But how am I back here then?'
I keep pondering, sitting in the edge of my bed, when my surroundings suddenly changed.
The purple sheets and blanket of my bed were now a deep red. And the immature pictures I had decorated my walls with were all gone.
I tried to quickly stand up but someone grabbed my shoulder and roughly pulled me back.
Turning around in a swift movement, I looked to see who dared grab me.
It was him.
"Where do you thing you're going? Surely you couldn't still be trying to escape?" Mu Bei said to me, looking at my body with disgusting eyes.
"I guess you need more education to understand the position you're in."
I tried to struggle but to my horror my legs were shackled. His fingers inched closer to my chest, but right before he touched me there was the sound of a door opening.
-------
My eyes shot open, and light flooded into the scene.
I was back in the unfamiliar bedroom. My body was covered in a cold sweat, and my hands were shaking with fear.
It seemed to have just been a nightmare. My shoulder relaxed, as I let my body sink into the comfortable bed.
'Thank god.'
The blanket was so warm, as if to purposely contrast the cold shackles that were attached to my legs.
I could feel myself about to sink back into sleep, when I heard the first voice since I entered this world.
"My Lady?" An unfamiliar voice came from my side.
My mind instantly sobered up, and I jumped over to the other side of the bed, looking over warily.
"m-My Lady? Is something wrong?" The person next to my bed was a girl, a few years younger than me before entering this world.
She had thick brown hair, large amber eyes, and had freckles dotting her face. She gave off the same impression as a cute puppy, quickly lowering my suspicion.
"Who are you?" I said, keeping my distance. You still can't judge people based on appearances, especially in unfamiliar places.
"Oh no! Has my lady lost her memory? It's me Maribel, do you really not recognize me?" The girl named Maribel said quickly, her eyes getting even larger, filling with tears.
"Ah- Uhm.. I'm sorry it's just that-" I stammered, not knowing how to calm her down.
"Sorry? Did you just say you're sorry? Oh something is very wrong." Maribel looked at worriedly and started pacing around the room.
'Is it really that strange to apologize?'
Now that I think about it, how does she understand me? How do I understand her?
She's clearly a western person, there is no way she speaks chinese.
"My Lady, has your condition worsened? You're acting strange." Maribel finally seemed to calm down a bit, realizing what she had done was rude.
"I've never heard my lady apologize, not even to the master." She said, carefully examining my face.
Realizing I had made a mistake I wanted to correct it, but there was nothing I could do. I don't know anything about this world.
"I'm fine, I was just distracted that all. Don't worry." I quickly reassured her, hoping I didn't make too large of a mistake.
"Hmm. So my lady is feeling better now?" Maribel said, seemingly unconvinced.
I quickly affirmed her, hoping for the questions to end.
"Yes, do not worry anymore."
Hearing this Maribel seemed to believe me this time, as she smiled brightly.
"Ah that's good. I can't wait to tell the master. Is my lady ready to be bathed?"
B-bathed?
"Yes?" I said, wondering if I heard incorrectly, but Maribel took that to mean I consented.
"Okay! I'll be back soon, and we'll get you bathed!" Maribel said, nearly running out of the door.
Now I was all alone again. At least I thought so.
"Finally this seems to be going somewhere."
"Do you know how hard it is to explain to Heaven why the show's quality has suddenly dropped so low?" Someone familiar suddenly spoke from behind me.
I jumped again, this time nearly falling off my bed. Is it going to be everyday thing for people to suddenly appear near me?
Turning around, the man who proclaimed himself as my manager and brought me here entered my vision.
"Did you sleep well?" He said, looking at me with his signature bored look.
"Would I look this disheveled if I did, have some consideration." I didn't have the energy to be polite.
He completely disregarded what I said and continued. "That's good, I should probably give you some background about this world and what you need to do."
This caught my attention, so I began to focus on him albeit somewhat angrily.
"Currently you're in the story of 'The Villains Won't Leave Me Alone'. You're a side character who after losing your engagement attempts to take revenge on the female lead. Keyword, attempts."
???
"Story? So this isn't real? You said that I was going to another world, not into a story."
Where is my say in this? Why am I doing this anyway?
"What's the difference? It feels real does it not? If so what's the problem?" He flicked my ear, and I could clearly feel it.
"Are you sure you're a manager and not just a bully?" I said sarcastically, rubbing my ear, which was turning red.
"I'm sure. Now, before that maid of yours returns let me give you a little advice. Don't try to harm the female lead, it won't help you at all."
After giving that vague information he disappeared into a cloud of multicoloured sparkles, which quickly funneled into my ears.
