Chapter 35 - Helpless Mother

[4:35 PM] [02/12/1755]

Azkar sleeping peacefully after his second trial. He did not have any sleep. If someone other than him were in his situation, that person would surely have gone mad long ago because he spent a century in the second trial. After that, he saw a war. Of course, he saved the empire, but still, many people died during this war. If Azkar wanted to save everyone, he could have saved them easily. But the nature of humans is complicated; they don't understand the value of something given freely.

Azkar also knows that because he has seen too many things in his first life, and his whole life was controlled to the point he died a very painful death. Not considering the sufferings from the white room experiment because it left a scar in his heart. His entire way of seeing the world completely changed. There is no person other than him who knows what true freedom means, and to achieve this, he has to pay the price for it, which he already knows, so he is ready to pay the price if he achieves his goal by doing this.

Azkar woke up and decided to take a shower because he knows that King Rudas will send someone to invite him to the [Royal Palace]. After taking a good shower and dressing perfectly, he decided to get something to eat because it's hard to believe he never ate anything since morning.

It's not like he'll die from starvation; of course not because a Domain rank expert can survive without eating for years. But to Azkar, this is just torture, so he decided to eat some grilled chicken with other dishes he never tried before.

This time he changed his hairstyle; he decided to make a ponytail with his hair. He is wearing black pants with a black shirt and a long white coat.

He headed straight towards the restaurant he knows, which has good dishes. But halfway to the restaurant, he found a middle-aged lady with blue hair and lifeless crimson-colored eyes, pale white skin, which looked like she had been beaten mercilessly, taking her last breath in the dark alley. In her hand, she was holding a missing poster, which she held like her life depended on it.

Azkar wanted to ignore this because there's nothing to be gained from helping her, but he remembered something from his memories: his mother and father died protecting him from the government, and he could see that this lady was holding a missing poster of a teenage girl who looks like her.

He decided to make this exception, and he decided to help her, because she reminded him that his mother and father sacrificed themselves for him. He checked the condition of her body and found that most of her bones are broken; she is alive because of her sheer will to see the person in the missing poster.

"Heal," he said, and [Artificial Word Magic] activated, and the system executed his task instantly. A green hue enveloped her and healed all her injuries in just a fraction of a second.

Azkar wanted to ask his system how it can heal someone because he doesn't have any healing skills, but before he asked, his system replied to him.

[Master, I just used all of your authorities with some of your origin points because upon hearing your command [Artificial Word Magic], it is programmed to execute your [Word]. Even the system has to use some of the master's loot.]

"So in simple words, you just used my authorities to heal physical injuries and some of my loot to make the process complete. For example, you used my Blood Manipulation ability to control blood and matter manipulation to remove the damaged cells and make new ones using some of my loot with matter manipulation to heal the target completely," he said to his system.

[You're correct as always, master, but matter manipulation alone cannot heal the target because it's not a healing ability. But using your other authorities with Data Manipulation, it can be used to heal biological species by accelerating the healing factor of the target and using your loot to pay the sacrifice. Don't worry, master; it just takes a very minimum amount of loot, like 10 Cosmic points can heal an entire large city.]

"Also, how come vampires are able to walk in the broad daylight? It doesn't make sense because I saw four vampires doing fine in the battlefield in the morning. Also, I'm also a vampire now that I have the bloodline of a vampire," he asked his system.

Azkar can also find out about the answers using the [Data bank] of his system, but why bother? He decided to ask his system. Also, now he has memories of lord rank Vampires, which are handled by his system, so he gets the answer immediately.

[Master, there is no such thing as sunlight weakness for vampires in this world because after vampires become transcendent rank expert, they gain complete immunity to sunlight. This sunlight only affects weak vampires slightly, but they can heal themselves easily by the ridiculous regeneration of the vampire bloodline.]

[As for you, master, you don't have to worry because every other bloodline you'll obtain from loot, their weakness is already removed from the bloodline itself passively.]

"This is just crazy? Hahaha, I never thought that this is even possible, but seeing how ridiculous my system is, everything can be possible, I guess," he thought and smiled slightly after knowing the fact.

"Where am I? Please forgive me, my lord, spare my life," the middle-aged lady woke up and, seeing Azkar, she thought he was going to kill her because every single young master from big families is like this.

"It's rude, you know; I just saved your life," Azkar said while reminding her that she was healed.

Upon hearing this, she found out that her body is completely healed, and she's feeling better than before.

"I'm sorry for misunderstanding you, my lord," she said while lowering her head.

"Don't do that; call me Vance and tell me about your situation?" he asked because if he decided to help her, why not do it completely? It's not like he has anything better to do.

"How can I call you by your name, my lord? It's not acceptable," she was really terrified by the behavior of the nobles in this city; that's why she cannot talk properly.

"It's okay; you can say it. You know I'm not from this city, and I'm also not a noble," Azkar read her like an open book.

Hearing that, she gained some confidence to talk and decided to explain everything to him because he saved her. What worse can happen from this point anyway?

"My family lives in the commoner district in this city. A week ago, my daughter awakened her innate ability, and she can use fire magic faster than any children in Nobles. Our family is too poor to support her, but one day, a middle-aged lady came. She didn't show her face because she was wearing a hood, but she came with royal guards and decided to take my daughter Sofia to Zenith Magic Academy for study. They offered our family a good house in the commoner district." She tried her hardest not to cry.

"But one week later, my husband and I decided to visit her at the academy and found out that our daughter was not admitted, and there was no one who even knew her. We decided to contact authorities, but they did not even listen to our problem. After two more days, some people in black clothes came and killed my husband in front of me. It was so painful that I wanted to die with him, but I controlled myself. After I tried to find my daughter in the noble district, some people mercilessly beat me, and I almost got killed if you had not helped. Mr. Vance, please help me find my daughter; I beg of you," she explained her story and begged for help.

Hearing this, Azkar felt disgusted towards humans once again, but he controlled himself, saying that not everyone can be this disgusting. He decided not to think about it, and hearing her truly reminded him of his memories of his parents.

"Don't worry, I'll find her, and I'll help you. There's no need to beg me, okay? You just reminded me of someone. Also, what should I call you?" he said to her and asked for her name.

"Samantha Martinez," she replied to Azkar.

"Okay, please wait, Miss Samantha. I'll find your daughter in just a minute," he said to her.

"What? Is this possible to search the whole capital in just a minute? He must be giving me hope. Yeah, if all nobles happen to be like him, our empire wouldn't be in this situation," she thought he is a noble and did not tell her so i can talk to him.

"System, expand my circuit threads to the whole capital city and find that girl. Use her mother's DNA sample to match and identify the child," he asked his system, and a large amount of mana consumed with trillions of nano threads covered every part of the city, and the system used Samantha's DNA to identify Sofia.

[Match found! Master, but her condition is not good. Someone has taken out most of her body parts from her body. She is not in one piece; only her heart is beating, her skin is removed from her body, and lastly, her body parts are packed in a jar-like box in some magic store run by an old witch.]

"..."

Fuck!

After hearing this, Azkar's face darkened, but he has control over his emotions, so he remained in his poker face. However, no matter how much he hides it, Samantha was able to find out that something is wrong.
