Chapter 1 - Face Palm

(Saitama, Japan)

"They're so fast!"

"Damn sure are."

Yuna, a 15 year old boy with black hair in a ponytail and dark reddish pink eyes and a red headband around his forehead, was hanging over a fence under the sunset sky at an open field, looking at a group of people playing soccer in a field, dashing around the field, surrounded by different colored auras that gave them certain abilities on the soccer field, the abilities varied greatly.

Yuna asked his 20 year old brother Sira, "Can we join them?!"

Sira had wavy ash blonde hair, and reddish yellow eyes, and he replied, "You'd have to not use your aura, brat. You'd kill someone out there. Of course you're not as skilled as me but.."

"…I'm good!"

"You have the Beelzebub aura. It's too dangerous. And annoying."

"Come on!"

"Nope. We're leaving."

Suddenly, one of the players out on the soccer field was on the ground, holding their knee, saying, "Haha, I guess I'm done for today."

Another player added, "We have to pick up someone else, or we have to end the game."

Sira was walking away with his hands in his pockets, saying, "Yeah, that's our cue to get the hell-."

Sira turned around, and saw Yuna wasn't there.

"Yuna-!"

Yuna was on the field, wearing a grey hoodie, black shorts, black shoes, and black socks. Yuna grinned, "Pick me up!"

The other players said:

"Him..?"

"He's not even wearing cleats.."

"He's only a kid."

"Let's tell him to beat it-."

"Nah. Put him on your team. If we don't accept it, it'll make us look like we're scared of him, and I ain't going for that."

The one who said that had dark green hair and brown eyes, wearing white wraps around his knuckles. His name was Kage.

Kage said, "I'm not feeling his Aura."

He thought, 'He's gotta be weak then. The Iron Boot soccer exams are tomorrow morning, and I have to be prepared to show no mercy to rookies. This should be a warm up. The entire world will be watching the exams for the Iron Boot Academy, an academy designed for making anyone who comes out on top at the academy the world's best football player with even the best deals..I'm gonna kick ass!'

Kage continued, "You! Rookie, over there." He pointed towards the other team.

Yuna smiled, "Okay!"

Sira was sitting on the bleachers now, saying, "Don't use your Aura, Yuna!"

Yuna turned to Sira, and gave a thumbs up, "Got it!"

Kage said, "Why not?"

"Because, it's dangerous. I don't want you to get hurt," Yuna said with an innocent attitude, nervously, scratching the back of his head.

Kage laughed, "HAHA! Hurt. Let's get this thing going then."

As both sides were getting into position, one of Yuna's teammates walked towards him, saying, "You should take Kage seriously."

"Huh? Why?" Yuna asked out of curiosity.

"Kage has been making waves in the soccer world with his exceptional skills and impressive achievements. At just 16, he became one of the youngest players to score in a professional league match, a feat that heralded the start of a remarkable journey. His role in leading his team to victory in the Under-17 World Cup, where he earned both the Golden Boot and Golden Ball awards, cemented his status as a rising star. He continued to shine at a local level, earning Player of the Year in his youth league for two consecutive years and leading his high school team to a national championship, where he was named Most Valuable Player. His record-breaking season, where he scored an astounding 35 goals, caught the attention of top-tier professional clubs. At 17, he signed his first professional contract with one of the league's most successful clubs. His calm and strategic style of play, represented by his serene Reindeer Aura, earned him the AURA Emerging Player of the Year award. Kage's journey is a testament to his talent, dedication, and the exciting future that lies ahead for him in the world of soccer-."

Yuna yawned, and said, "Aghh! I'm ready to play!"

"Geez, take it easy. You're acting like this is the Iron Boot exams."

"I'm definitely going!" Yuna said excitedly.

From the stands, Sira thought, 'If Yuna can keep himself from using his Aura, he can avoid..that. He says it's uncontrollable, but I don't believe that shit one second.'

Both sides were getting ready, and Yuna was smiling widely, cracking his knuckles, "I'm so excited I'm so excited I'm so excited!"

Kage said, "Guess I'll probably go all out on this brat. Don't die. Kid."

Yuna laughed, "Haha! I won't-!"

In a split second, Kage passed by him, and he shoved Yuna out of the way with his foot, blasting Yuna and a few other teammates out of bounds.

Nearby bystanders watched, saying:

"It's Kage! He's using his Reindeer Aura!"

"Hot damn!"

"Someone record this!"

Kage had a glowing yellow and brown aura glow around him, and he grew brown reindeer antlers. Kage said arrogantly, "Haha! With my Reindeer Aura, Just like a reindeer's ability to travel long distances at considerable speed, I possess exceptional speed and stamina, allowing me to maintain a high level of play throughout an entire match without tiring!"

'And even when this is just a street match, I can bend the rules with a few physical fouls..'

His teammate beside him, finished, "Reindeer are known for their agility in navigating through difficult terrains. In soccer terms, this would translate into Kage having excellent footwork and the ability to control the ball effectively while navigating through tight spaces and around opponents!"

Kage was dribbling the ball left and right at fast speeds as his teammates followed close behind. Yuna's teammates tried to use their Aura's stop him, surrounded by blue and orange aura's, stomping on the ground to release fire and ice towards Kage.

Kage grinned, "They're recording! I'm definitely not losing now!"

Kage had four green and brown glowing Reindeers form around and above him, and they galloped around him, blocking the projectiles from the other teammates.

"Dammit!"

"He blocked it!"

"Don't let him score!"

"Oi! Goalie! Don't just stand there like a weirdo!"

The goalie stood there, overflowing with a dark purple and blue aura, with a large glowing blue hand abive his head, and he said, "It won't pass through me!"

'It's definitely gonna go through me! Someone help! Normal Goalie Aura's like mine don't stand a chance against Kage's Aura! He just shatters them!'

Kage exclaimed, "Now then! For the main event! The score!"

Kage thought, 'As a striker, I've made a good name for myself. And destroying a rookie is the first thing on my list to becoming a legend now! Since people are recording, I'll even be a little flashy. Sorry, brat. But you don't belong in the soccer world.'

Kage arched his foot back, and he said, "KATHOOM!"

He kicked the ball, and as the ball blasted across the air at top speeds, one of his glowing reindeer was guiding it, adding more speed to it.

"He's gonna score!"

"Stop him!"

They were too slow, they couldn't reach the ball in time, the ball flew past them, and the wind pressure from the shot had blasted them back, making them roll and hit the ground.

As the ball was inching towards the goal, Kage heard laughing, laughing from Yuna.

Kage gasped, thinking, 'That brat?!'

Kage blinked only once, and Yuna was basically teleported in speed in front of the soccer ball, twisting in mid air as his body was covered in a red and black aura, and red and black lightning was blasting from his right foot.

Yuna smiled, "HAHA! You didn't forget about me, right? I know I'm new but…let's go all out."

Kage said, "I-Impossible! What is that speed?! And Aura!"

Yuna kicked the soccer ball forward, and lightning blasted all over the place, cracking the ground and making everyone stumble.

The ball was heading back towards Kage, and Kage dodged it just in time, saying, "What the…?! That power-!"

ZIP!

Yuna was in Kage's face, and he was smiling as he grabbed Kage's face with his left hand, and started running across the field at full speed.

The other teammates and nearby bystanders exclaimed:

"He grabbed him!"

"That's a foul!"

Sira, from the stands, sighed, "Agh. Here we go again."

Kage yelled, "Let me go, brat!"

Yuna replied, "Okay!"

Yuna stopped, and he launched Kage forward, and he and the soccer ball went into the goal at the same time, and more red and black lightning blasted around the area.

Yuna celebrated, "Goal! Hahaha!"

As Yuna danced, everyone was in shock, besides Sira.

They said:

"What is he…?"

"I've never seen that kind of Aura before…"

"Is he a demon?"

"He completely obliterated Kage.."

Yuna celebrated, "Oh yeah! Oh yeah! I won! We won! I scored a goal!"

Sira walked onto the field, and picked up Yuna, and walked away with him, saying, "Yeah, we're doing home. I'm tired as hell."

Yuna continued to celebrate, even being carried away.

Yuna asked, "Sorry I used my aura, he kicked me. Are you-."

"No I'm not mad, little nerd. To survive at the Iron Boot academy, you'll need that aggression and ready-to-strike attitude. You know why? Because I've been through that shit before. You know the story-."

"Yeah yeahhh you were the 11th ranked student at the academy, until you got hurt when you were climbing the ranks pretty fast! And you're the only one I can't beat!"

"Yeah…hurt. Anyway, let's hope nobody died and all that. I don't wanna waste my money on an arrogant brats funeral."

Yuna thought, 'I can't wait for the exams tomorrow morning..!'

Back at the soccer field, people were hovering over Kage, saying:

"He bodied you badly."

"This is kind of your fault..Kage."

Kage was laying on the ground, with smoke coming off of his body, and his green and brown aura disappearing for the moment.

Kage sat up, and said. "A brat like that..is going to be at the exams! He definitely will gain the favor of the higher ups! I can't let him beat me. I'll surpass him, and expose him in front of everyone. I'll train even harder, no one fucking beats Kage…"

(10 minutes later)

(Yuna's house)

Yuna and Sira opened the door to their house, and they took off their shoes before stepping in.

Walking in the hallway to see them, was their Aunt, Ultra. She had thin black glasses, grey eyes, and her hair was long, red, and braided, and she had tattoos on her neck and arms, and she had a sucker in her mouth.

Ultra said, "So. You kick some ass or what?"

Yuna nodded, "You bet! I almost killed the guy! That bastard kicked me!"

Sira said, "Yeah it was pretty eventful."

Yuna walked away, his stomach growling as he was yearning for food. He held his stomach, saying, "Eghh. I haven't eaten in two hours."

Ultra said to Sira, "Let me guess, he didn't listen?"

"You know he can't really control it, right?"

"So? If he ends up killing someone at the academy, then.."

"He won't. Even though sometimes he can't control when his Aura comes on when playing soccer, he still controls his own movements and emotions and all that. Sigh. I've been trying to train him to control his Aura timing."

"Aura…Aura timing..all these Aura terms. Makes me wanna vomit."

In this modern world, soccer transcends the ordinary—it becomes a vibrant spectacle of unique skills and styles, each expressed through the Aura. An Aura, in this context, is a radiant energy field that surrounds each player, embodying more than just their physical presence. It's a dynamic representation of their unique playing style and inherent abilities. The Aura is a fascinating reflection of a player's individuality on the field. It radiates from them, expressing their style of play through its unique color and affinity.

The Aura isn't a static entity—it's a living, breathing manifestation of a player's performance in the game. It mirrors the player's actions on the pitch; a triumphant goal can cause the Aura to shimmer brightly, while a missed opportunity might cause it to dim, reflecting the immediate outcome of their actions. Each player's Aura is also associated with a unique skill or ability that enhances their game. This could be a special maneuver, a heightened sense of speed, a superior control over the ball, or an uncanny ability to anticipate the opponent's moves, or anything else bizzare. This Aura-linked skill is something inherited most of the time, but not emotionally driven; it's something innate to the player, developed and honed through relentless practice and experience.

The Aura evolves as the player refines their skills and grows on their journey. As they master their abilities, their Aura becomes brighter and more potent, a visually striking testament to their progress and prowess. When a player steps onto the pitch, their Aura shines, painting the field with a radiant emblem of their skill and style. The soccer field transforms into a vibrant canvas of colors, each player's Aura weaving into the others in a mesmerizing dance of light and energy. In this world, soccer isn't just a game—it's a grand display of individual abilities, a vivid spectacle of colors, and a saga where every move and every goal is amplified by the radiant glow of the Auras.

Ultra walked into the kitchen, and said, "Damn I need a cig. I can't believe they called me to be a part of the Iron Boot academy. Every exam is rough, people almost die, while that's fun to watch, I want extra money."

Yuna was scarfing food down his mouth at the kitchen table, and said, "This food is delicious!"

"Oh yeah? Your brother hates my cooking."

Sira sat at the kitchen table, replying, "It tastes like carpet burn."

Yuna asked Sira, "How do you know what carpet burn tastes like? That's impossible."

"Tch! Shut up."

Sira kicked Yuna under the table, and Yuna laughed, "That didn't hurt!"

"What are you?"

Ultra answered his question, "Aye. We're descendants of the Raichun Clan, a clan that became the first humans with Aura's."

Sira responded, "But NONE of them had a dark Aura like Yuna."

"Yeah it's weird."

Yuna thought, 'Hmm. I like how they're talking like I'm not right here. I've been trying to figure out why I'm different from the rest of my family, but I haven't gotten really close. Hopefully I pass the exams and could possibly learn a lot more there at the academy. I don't have any achievements or awards or anything, so I'm not that special compared to everyone else. But..I'll try my best. For mom and dad too.'

Ultra turned on the TV, and it was showing the news, and the reporter said:

"This just in, a crazy event just took place! Kage, the famous striker prodigy, has been slung around by an unknown kid at the local field near the Sakura Arena. Here's the video!"

The TV showed the video of Yuna doing what he did, and Yuna zipped up to the TV at the last minute, and stared at the TV with glowing eyes, smiling, "Awesomeee!"

Sira was digging in Yuna's food and eating it, but Ultra slapped his hand, saying, "Thief."
