We ended up staying in the caves for three days before the rain let up. Almost everyone avoided going out in the rain, but Chang Guo Zi made sure that they were drinking it, no matter what.
"This isn't what you said would happen," grunted Chang Guo Zi as everyone started filing out of the caves. It was early morning, so everyone was more than ready to get going. "Did you say that we were three days out into our mission when we started to head back? We've been gone for a week now."
"Things changed," I shrugged, not really wanting to explain anything. If he didn't trust me, then he needed to stop asking me questions.
I hadn't been along before when I saw everyone getting killed. I hadn't saved the Tree of Life, and I most definitely didn't get a tattoo of a living snake.
And I never saw the rain coming either.
