He didn't want anyone, not even his trusted advisor, knowing too much. The weight of his thoughts was too personal, too heavy.
"Actually," Benjamin said, his tone shifting slightly, "I have a different task for you. Go to this address." He handed over a slip of paper. "I want every little detail about their request for my services. I'll contact you if I need you."
"Yes, sir," his advisor replied, taking the paper without hesitation before leaving the room.
Now alone again, Benjamin sighed. His fingers hovered over his phone, thinking of Erica's message. 'What should I say to her?' He wanted to reassure her, to tell her that everything would be okay, but at the same time, he couldn't bring himself to reveal too much.
Not yet.
He finally began to type, careful with his words.
