The King was pacing around his study. Biting at his nails as he just heard the news of what was happening all across the land. His home was in danger. Thousands of castles were being raided, not only that but people are being captured for god knows what. The more time that was spent wondering was time that was wasted.
King Raven flopped down into his seat, looking over the letters he's been getting that have been requesting help from other kingdoms. As he was looking over some of the letters when his lieutenant barged in, panting. "Your Majesty, I have some news!" Lieutenant Drew panted as he made his way to the desk.
"For God's sake Drew, sit down before you faint!" King Raven worriedly said, pointing to an empty seat in front of him. "What news have you got for us? It better be good, I can't keep ignoring these letters. They need our help and we can't afford it!" he sighs, throwing a few of the letters off of his desk as he waits for the news to be shared. "Sir, I've found someone who can do it for free! All that she requires is some men, rations, a place to stay for a while, and a horse." Lieutenant Drew stated. Nervously awaiting for what the King would react knowing the kind of help wasn't of a man, but a woman. The only woman knight in the world as far as they knew.
The King looked at himself in the reflection of the window, as Drew was talking about the newest addition that could possibly be of really good help in the future. "What's her name?" he asked, turning back to look at Drew's face. "Mira, your Majesty. She's the one Yuki was training years ago." Drew confirmed any suspicions that the king might've had about her. "Bring her in to meet with me, both you and Yuki will be sitting in on the meeting when she gets here. I trust that you'll make her feel welcome to our kingdom as best as you can?" King Raven questioned, lifting a brow. "Yes sir, with what's going on we can do nothing more than our best at making Mira comfortable." With that being said and done, Drew made his way out of the office, giving a swift nod to the king, to make room for Mira as she's expected to be here soon.
After a couple of hours there was a knock at the door. Looking up from the paper he was writing. "Come in." he answered, putting down the pen. The door then opened, Yuki holding the door for Drew and Mira. "You requested the three of us, your Majesty?" Yuki asked, entering in behind them as he shut the door for privacy.
"Please take a seat, I wanted to meet the one who's going to, hopefully, be the solution to our problems." he stated flashing a warm smile. Raven reached his hand out to Mira, "Nice to meet you, I'm King Raven. You must be Mira." Mira flashed a slight smile back, shaking his hand. "Yes sir, it's nice to meet you too."
The four of them all sat down at a small meeting table that was in his office. Placing a pile of letters and documents in the middle of it. "I'm sorry we had to meet under these circumstances, Mira. I'm sure you've been told of what's been going on throughout other kingdoms? If not, I can brief you on the matter." he asked as he placed his hands on the table turning serious. "Yes, sir, I'm aware of the series of attacks going on. My last home was among the attacks." she answered just as seriously.
Yuki and Drew were looking through the documents to get caught up, knowing that they'll need all sorts of information no matter if it was old or new. Yuki looked up from basically a mountain of papers "Sir, Mira is the best fighter I know. I trained her personally since we come from the same place. I can confirm that she's what we need. My men will be more than glad to assist her in any way they can." Raven nodded and placed his hand on his chin, taking a deep sigh he looked at them. "I'd be glad to give you a chance to show me what you got, Mira. You can take the day to rest, and show me in the morning."
Mira shook her head, "With all due respect, your Majesty, I'd prefer to go straight to training. I can rest later, but there's not enough time to sit around and do nothing. We need to act as fast as possible." The king laughed and got up, walking to the door. "I'll be glad to come and see how Yuki here trained you, if that's alright with you two?" Mira got up as Yuki and Drew followed her to the door. "Of course, sir. You lead the way and I'll follow." she says, offering the king to head out first.
As they head out of the office, Mira is behind the king with Yuki beside her and Drew behind the two of them. Mira leaned to Yuki and whispered to him. "Does the king usually ask to join in on the training, or is this something new because I'm here?" Yuki laughed quietly, shaking his head. "It must be because you're here. He usually lets us just train without being supervised." Mira nodded and kept walking until they reached a big field.
As soon as they arrived at the center of the field, Mira and Yuki went over to grab a sword and shield. Returning to the center, they waited for the que from Drew. Once they saw the raise of his hand, soon the training began. The sounds of swords clanking against one another, grunts from dodging one another, and armour being scraped by both the blades and shields were the only things that could be heard.
After 20 minutes of training and one final kick to Yuki's chest, knocking him down, the king called training to a halt. With a slow clap of his hands, he walked over to the two. "Well done Mira, you're indeed the best who was trained by the best." Mira smiled offering a hand to Yuki, helping him up. "Thank you, sir, I truly was trained by the best of the best." Yuki was panting and grunted as he got up. He was exhausted but he managed to put on a smile, sweat rolling down his face. "You truly were, Mira." Yuki said, trying to catch his breath.
King Raven was proud of what he saw. His first officer was taken down by his protege. "Mira, I must say you've impressed me. I'd like to discuss some things with you about leading our forces. You'd be working side by side with Yuki to help put a stop to these sudden attacks. If, of course, you'd like to help."
