My name is Chioma , i was born in a family of seven. We live in Aba, Abia Statement. My dad is a business man that bus and resells good and in turn comes back with food items... Am my dads heart beat.. Oops i forgot my mum. She is a Sweet soul who is blessed with a father like mine. She is an evangelist.
I was just 14 when my dads business colapsed.. He didnt know what to do and how to restart again. He fought over his feelings in his quite times and keep a smiling face in our presence. This went on as i was in my JSS-3 and needed to write my exams. My dad was disturbed and felt helpless cos he wasnt helping me enough.
One faithful day, my dad called me to his room and pleaded with me about my education. He said he wasnt opportuned to go to school but was ever ready to train his children to any level.. He letter promised to borrow and sorted my exams bills. Within some months when i was done with exams .. Having a long holiday before ging back to senior secondary school.
My dad called me again and asked me if i can help myself a bit like hawking on the street.. I took the offer with all pleasure as long as i wont have to quite school i said to my heart. So we agreed on when to start .
The D'day came and i dressed all up for my hawking business; following my dad and listening to his every advice.. I only replied with a nud. We came to a place known as Ngwa road .. He took me to a shop owner known as Pastor that sells pure water to hawkers.. After formal introduction ,my dad left. It was really a time to choose in between my now and future...
I took a bag of water for #100 and started selling at #10 each. I made few friends the same day and was walking through the market of ahia ohuru also known as Ngwa Road market from line one to line 35, from school road to insulu to sametary market...
It wasnt an easy journey and was able to make #800 on my first day at work. I went back the next day with my normal routine and also kept praying to God to bless my hustle. On the third day i went to market but wasnt feeling fine, i guess i wasnt used to the new routine , it wasnt up to 1:00pm on the third day i felt sick while selling and it became worse that i couldnt continue the same day.. I left for my house with #550 and dropped my pure water remains in the pastors frizer .
Reaching home weak and tired and told my dad, he regreted sending me to hawk but i promised him that i will be fine after all , it was my first time and my body will adapt after the sickness. Funny enough my dad insisted i rest for the remaining days and get myself fully since it was on a thursday.
I resumed fully tue upper week and God helped me in making sales and i saved enough for my SS1. Being so excited about it ,i told my dad and he was pleased with the news and kept blessing me offen.
I went back to school without stopping my hawking , i go three times during school days and then go on saturdays. With that i was able to see myself through some school payments, house expenses and dads small business and my pocket money too.
One day , i went to my normal routine on a saturday, i met a girl named ijeoma that offered to show me wäre she makes sales more than others. Hearing its for my sales town increase i quickly agreeded to follow her. We went from ahia ohuru to nsulu to school road where our pure water finished and we bought another one immediately from a nearby seller that sells in wholesale. We kept selling till we got to a place called "Shopping Center" a customer called her and while she went to sell , i was called... Few minutes after selling i couldnt find ijeoma anywhere.
.. I know shopping center is a large market but i was afraid if i get lost.. Batting with those thought as i heard a woman who shouted "obu ahia ebughi nti" also know as "one with market but without ears to hear the customers calling" i quickly got hold off myself and decided to walk on a long road only and quietly trace my way back to pastors shop...
While on the walk i kept making sales and i was happy . i got to a junction and i was called by a young man in a one storey building....
