The sun was shining brightly on the City of Sammedi. It is one of the main trade cities of Mount Mammoth, exporting such goods as honey and wine. It imports smuggled-in goods from other realms such as Earth and another realm that was a sloppy patchwork of different worlds and concepts. The City itself came about when the founder of Sammedi took a trip to New Empire, New York and completely floored by everything there, the tall towers that stood against the sky itself, the various people going on their daily business, the city itself was alive with noise and conversations.
Zylon was running at a speed that could break the sound barrier. He had a special gift that he had to deliver. The package was wrapped securely in the finely woven bag aligned across his back. He ran across various buildings, enjoying the magnificent view of the city that look breathtaking at sunset.
The bag was specially designed by a seamstress who was a legend in Mount Mammoth known for her ability to wove silks out of thin air, rumors have it that her true form is a giant spider. Zylon smiles to himself, for all he knows it could very well be true, but no time to focus on that now.
" Hmm...now that I think about it, i actually do have plenty of time to focus on that." Zylon thought as he jumped over a cart carrying cabbages and ran across the storefront walls. Be careful not to break anything.
It was one of the many perks about having the ability of super speed. He would have to be by the recipient place by 5 PM sharp. The recipient address in question was at the dead center of the large metro-inspired city and was a good two hours away if you lived out of town.
And considering Zylon had to eat breakfast, attend an short A.A meeting, and then run to the great rivers of Seeabatta to grab the requested gift. (It was a whole ordeal where you had to talk to a tree and tell a good rhyme in order to receive the gift.) All of that began at 12 P.M, he like to sleep in. It was already 4:50 PM according to his watch. Like he just said, he has plenty of time.
"No, really i don't have anything else!" Somebody said as Zylon almost ran past the situation that was unfolding. He stopped just a few feet away from the dilemma. He turned his head to see what appeared to be an old shopkeeper getting surrounded by three rather intimidating individuals. One of the men had a shaved head with a strong jaw, There was a long tattoo of a line of skulls decorating his neck and it ended just behind his ear. He seemed to be the leader of this group.
The leader decided that he was gonna sink his blade deep into the shopkeeper's stomach. He pulled his blade out of the sheath and stabbed it directly into his Lieutenant's Stomach. The boss stumbled back in confusion as his trusted Lt. slowly sank to the ground. He could've sworn the shopkeeper was standing right there, he was about to get gutted!
"What the hell Radam?!" The lieutenant yelled out in pain as he bled out.
"I don't know what happened! It just-Oh crap in a basket..." Radam said with dread as he started to realize who could have done this.
"Hey Fellas!" The leader turned his head toward the sound of that voice. The voice was full of confidence, obnoxious, arrogant confidence. There was the Demi-God standing there with the shopkeeper right behind him relatively unharmed.
This particular Demi-God had short blonde-hair with light stubble on his chin. Wearing a simple sky blue shirt with a glowing lighting bolt in the middle. Black Pants with White lines contrasting them. It reminded The leader of a lighting strike at night. His skin was slightly tan and his pupils were purple just like his mother.
"So, just another day on the job?" Zylon joked as he handed a thick bag full of coins back to the shopkeeper." Here, this belong to you." Zylon, said smiling. The leader watched and instinctively reached for the back of his belt where the bag of money was located. Sure enough it was gone.
"You bastard!" The bald leader yelled out as he rushes toward the demi-god with his bloodied knife. The third man who wore a black mask with the design of a goblin on the front of iT shouted out to his leader.
"NO WAIT, HE HAVE-" The masked man was knocked out with a kick to the head. The leader turned around and saw that his underling was knocked out too. His trusted lieutenant now being patched up by the demi-god with bandages he got from the apothecary shop located a few stalls down from the store they was robbing.
"Okay, you should be fine, you should really make better life choices in the future." Zylon said as he stood up and turns toward the leader.
"You think i'm scared of some scrawny punk?" Radam angrily said.
Zylon mocked-gasped at this insult.
"Scrawny? Now while i'm not built like my good friend Garwik, God of War,i'm sure you heard of him, most ladies find that i'm-"
Zylon dodge the knife that was thrown at him with ease.
"Very fit, that what i was going to say before i-"
Zylon dodged another knife and ran up to the leader. Radam couldn't even see him as the Demi-God took off the man's vest which carried an array of knives before punching the leader in the nose, cracking it. Radam doubled over in pain and fell to his knees. Blood leaking from his fractured nose.
"Rudely interrupted."
Zylon finished as he cracked his knuckles, a spark of electricity burst from it.
"Our Boss is not going to be pleased with this, i don't give a fuck if you're a Demi-God, you ain't gonna be shit once the Boss get a hold of you!" The leader spat out, glaring at the son of the Goddess of time.
Zylon decided to get on his eye level by kneeling down.
"We're not the last, more will come after you." The leader threatened again.
"Are your types sold by the bulk?" Zylon joked.
The leader took one more swing with his left hook which Zylon dodged and kneed him in the temple. Completely knocking out the last of the group. There was a lull in silence before the entire marketplace broke out in applause for Zylon.
Zylon did a showman bow and went to grab some rope from the supply stall and within five seconds completely tied up the would-be bandits.
"Remember folks, crime never pay." He said with a wink and a radiant smile. He hates to admit it, but this part was intoxicating to him, doing a good deed and having people look up to you.
He shakes that feeling off, feeling disappointed in himself for a brief moment but got himself together. Now wasn't the time to be focusing on that. With that he was on his way back to his destination.
"4:55 P.M? That's plenty of time!" Zylon thought as he ran at nearly impossible speeds to the place he had to deliver to.
Within one minute before the deadline, he had made it to the most popular nightclub in Sammedi, HoneyDogs. The place was huge and looked like it belonged in the modern realm known as Earth. The building was a slick gold coloring, with two golden statues of dogs sitting on top of the building, shining brightly despite the sun setting down. He remembered the first time he set eyes upon this place. It was utterly magnificent to the Young Demi-God at the time. This was where he spent a decent portion of his youth.
Zylon walked into the front door, Big Ray the golem bouncer let him in because they were expecting him. Zylon gave Big Ray a fist bump at the door. The nightclub was just as impressive inside as it was outside. It was big and spacious, all the chairs and furniture had the color pallet of a sunset. The tables in there were red and you could tell it was recently cleaned too.
There were elves working the bar, cleaning glasses, and making sure they had enough liquor to Chef Orcs who was carrying and dragging various ingredients in large burlap bags, some of the bags seemed to be squirming.
There was a stage in front of the dance floor for singers and performers. Out walked of the office two individuals. One was a Goddess and the other was the owner of this fine establishment.
Zylon took the bag off his shoulders and handed it to his client who was hopping up and down with delight. Winfrey grabbed the bag and handed out a bag that was filled to the brim with golden coins to Zylon who took it. Zylon smiled, he had an idea that the client had to be her, but now there no question.
"Thank you Zylon!" Winfrey said, completely ecstatic. A man came up from behind and look at the two beings. A Goddess of party and a messenger Demi-God. The man had a slick backed hairstyle that Zylon's mom Myraniss said reminded her of the 50s in the modern realm known as Earth.
He was wearing plush robes the color of crushed roses and a trimmed goatee that honestly didn't look too bad on him. He had goat horns sticking out of his head, his robes covering his goat legs well. His name was Dialoco.
"I'm so glad that everything is coming along nicely." DIaloco said , smiling as he eyed the rare wine that had the distinct coloring of the early morning sky.
"So, shall we discuss our plans?" Dialoco asked the Demi-God in front of him, motioning him to join him in his private office.
"Oh and please check on your husband, Winfrey." Dialoco teases
Winfrey stuck out a tongue and went to get Malakai. Zylon chuckled, those two were the complete opposite of each other, yet more often than not, they would end up together somehow.
Good, he didn't speak with Malakai often, but from what he could gather from the few times they did interact and based on the stories he heard from Garwik, having Winfrey around could improve his life and mental state a lot. And of course, Malakai can maybe mellow Winfrey out and keep her from causing any drunken riots.
Probably.
Zylon followed Dialoco into the office.
"So i stopped a robbery in progress, and i'm going to be a guest of honor at the HoneyDogs club? What else can tonight bring?" Zylon thought as he sat down in the plush chair and waited for Dialoco to sit down.
