Chereads / Dream World Creation System / Chapter 4 - The same skill

Chapter 4 - The same skill

My grandfather made a solid point... As expected of someone known as a Sage...

If this world was created by someone who had the same skill as me, it would make sense that everyone had some sort of special skill, and yet, no one in history had ever resurrected someone, or created life out of nothing...

The sentient life in my Dream world also had skills, but death was just as definite there as it was here. I just never realized so...

-Mister Kai, all people who were present here have signed the non-disclosure agreement. I'll let you know once the investigation on the young man wields results. In the meantime, I'll make arrangements to have him stay at one of your manors, and once he wakes up, he will also sign the non-disclosure agreement.

Richard was always really efficient, I never understood why he was no nice to my grandfather. I mean, my grandfather did take care of him, and even adopted him after his parents died, but once he was 18, Richard cut all family ties with my grandpa, and instead, crafted a employment contract. He never once, called my grandfather as dad, or allowed his own children to view him as a grandfather... But one thing I knew, he would never betray my grandfather... And my grandfather would never abandon him...

-Richard... you are way too good for this old man... Thank you. I'll leave everything in your hands... Jee Yon and I have a lot to talk about, and I have to show him something. Make sure the driver is waiting for us outside.

-He is already waiting sir, and as for the media, they will be told young master Jee Yon have opened his eyes, but is still currently recovering from the long time in a coma. If you could however, turn off those screen like things, it would be easier to evade the media.

And, as I looked at my grandfather, he was once again, holding his laugh. Richard however was being serious, the problem was... I had no idea on how to turn off those stupid things...

Seriously...why do everyone else can see that? It makes no sense, it's like the screen materialized itself...wait...

"Yes, one of our skills, is the materialization skill, it was one of the first skills that we got in the Dream world"

-Turn off materialization

And once again everyone looked at me like I was crazy... Thank God for the non-disclosure agreement. But, it worked... As soon as my Materialization skill was turned off, I could still see the screens, but no one else could.

-See... I told you this was the normal way grandpa! You can't see it now, but I can! Told you! Now this makes some sense!

-Richard, before we go to the car, please have the doctor run a CT scan on Jee Yon... just to be safe.

-Right away sir.

And Richard vanished, I never knew what his second skill was, but I'm sure its some ninja stuff... I remember that when I first arrived at my grandfather's house, he would always scared the crap out of me, popping out of random places.

I thought my grandfather was joking about the CT scan... he was not, and so, we took another hour doing scans on my brain. After that was done, and the doctor confirmed that I was okay (4 times) we went outside, the driver was waiting for us, from the looks of it, he had been standing there, for a full hour, while other people had to use other access points to the hospital... so much for a low profile.

During the drive home, I explained to my grandfather everything I knew about my skill, how the time was different on the Dream World and on the Awaken world for me, and how the system provided me with a lot of different skills. It was a long talk, and he was focused during the whole process...

I could see his mind working, from the gazes he gave me as I told him everything. When I told him about how long I was stuck in the dream world, I could see him clenching his fists, as if he blamed himself for what had happened.

-I dont think your skill is quite what you think Jee Yon... We are calling it Dream World and Awaken world...but this may be your subconscious interpreting the difference between then. From what I can see, you really have the ability to create real worlds. And I'm sorry about that... spending 120 years in there, I can only imagine how you must have felt.

-Thanks...but... if it's my own mind that controls the system messages in some way, all I need to do is focus on the system and...

My grandfather was right... I could control the system, if I focused enough... Thankfully, I had a cheat for that. My second ego. He lacked emotions, so all he had was rationality and focus. From that point on, he was in charge of maintaining the system messages

-Another thing that bothered on your skill, was the character that took form right before the sealing of the young transmigrator.

He took out a brush, and a notepad from a compartiment on the car, and draw the character on the notepad. How he managed to do that so skillfully in a moving car, was beyond me.

-This character, I've seen it before, not quite like this, but I did see it before. You know, before they invented the Catalyst Paper, made from genetically modified plants, the only way to get the name of your skill was from a appraiser, and in order to do so, they used a character similar to this. It wasn't a skill, not like the ones we all have anyways, it was something taught to others, anyone could do it, if they had enough practice. Like this.

My grandfather lifted the pen in the air, and created a similar character to that on the notebook on the air. That was enough for the letter to appear, shine a bit, and, then turn into something similar to my system window, but less stable, it kept on blinking in and out for some reason.

On there however, I could clearly see: "World Creation System"

And more than that, it showed some of the descriptions for my skill. It was so much better than the catalyst paper, that it made me wonder, why did people stopped using this?

-You see, it's even got a bit of a description on it, but... for some reason, I've had forgotten all about this until I saw that character you created.

After saying that, he just stood there, with a complicated look on his face, as if he was waiting for a reply from me.

It took me a while to realize just how serious that was, and my grandfather waited for the ball to drop. It was impossible for him to forget, anything, his skill was called "Everlasting Memory" so, if someone with the inability to forgot anything, forgot about this, someone with a powerful enough skill had to be behind it.

-So...someone with the same skill as me, the creator of this world, hid that knowledge from everyone else?

-Yes...about two weeks before you were born, at the same time that the catalyst paper was first completed.

-That would mean, that this world, it's not real? Its a fake? A man made world?

-Are the worlds you created fake? No... unfortunately they are not... but one thing is for sure, whoever created this world, have more control over it than you ever did for the ones you control. From what you told me, you could only create rules, Laws of physics, but you could not influence life itself, right? You could just nudge then at the right direction. As for this world, if he eliminated all the memories of this skill, it means that he can direct interfere, or at least, he could, before you were born.

-What do you mean by that?

My grandfather stopped for a second, as if he was trying to find the right words, the right way to tell me something. The silence filled the car, as we got closer to our manor. Every now and then, he would try to say something, only to stop, and think about it again.

-Grandpa, what do you mean? Why did the creator stopped interfering after I was born?

The mood darkened, he looked at me, and almost as if he had lost some intense inner fighting, he lowered his head, and told me what was on his mind.

-I'm saying, that there's a chance, that you are actually the creator of this world, and was reincarnated into your own creation. And because of that, you could no longer make any changes in this world.

At that moment, we had reached the manor. And the driver opened the door for us. My grandfather got out of the car, and I followed him. Dumbfounded. If that was true... Who exactly am I?

-But that's just a hypotheses, I can be wrong, maybe the creator just can't make anymore changes because you also have the same skill as him. I would say... it's about a 30% chance of you being the creator...

He said those words, as if it was nothing, without looking back. However, he stopped at the front porch. Looked back at me with a smile.

-Nothing changes the fact that you are 100% my grandson, and 100% you mother's child. So don't worry that much about this.
