Once she'd settled things with her husbands, the afternoon and then night passed without any further incident. Although, it was hard to call anything an 'incident' after she'd been jump scared in her bathtub and conscripted into some kind of spy movie plot by Prince Caleb.
A cool and refreshing evening breeze blew in through the cracked open window by the time Octavian returned from his investigation that time.
And...as she'd pretty much expected from her discussion with Caleb, the investigation had yet to come up with anything else, only an increasingly frustrated Caoimhe.
Though...
Tomorrow would be when the results of their testing would prove fruitful, if at all.
She wasn't quite certain what would happen, but Caleb's assertion that the scene of the crime might have been contaminated didn't give her much hope for what the results would be.
