You track Vani down at the elegant café that serves as one of KXG's three on-site restaurants. She's sipping a cappuccino and reviewing employee performance data, but when you appear, she smiles and turns her tablet off.
"Krarr, isn't it?" she says. "I've been watching you."
She still looks a little wild-eyed after Dr. Caul's tantrum the other night, but she's no longer shaking.
"Have you enjoyed your work with Dr. Caul?" you ask.
Then, slowly, over the course of an hour or so, you lead Vani away from Dr. Caul—with her creepy fondness for mortals that compensates for her sudden and explosive rages—toward you. The vampires of Clan Tremere have their virtues, but few of them are natural leaders. By the end of the hour, Vani's eyes are shining as she looks at you.
"I'm going to be leaving soon," you say. "If Dr. Caul lets me."
You know when to get out of a conversation. You thank Vani for her time, leave the offer there, and head back to your room.
You have an ally here now—and possibly later. You consider the medium term. What can you do with a scientist and administrator? Dare you consider the creation of a ghoul? The possibility intrigues you. Your itinerant lifestyle has left no room for servants, but maybe it's time to establish a real base of power.
As you head back to your room, you once again feel Giselle's eyes on you. But when you turn, she's nowhere to be seen.

Since you're reasonably free to move around, you head to the Spill Zone and watch the scientists and surviving occultists, looking for any clues that might tell you more about Dr. Caul's plans.
Unfortunately, though you spend all night watching the technicians and looking for information, you can't figure out anything.

The next night, someone knocks on your door moments after the sun sets. Giselle is standing in the doorway.

She looks pale and ragged, and her long green cardigan is dark with blood where it clings to her wrists. She looks like she's been crying.
"Dr. Caul wants to see you," she says. "Clean yourself up. You have ten minutes."
From the tone of her voice, you suspect this might be your final night at Kiowa Xenogenetics. You grab everything you have, including your duffel bag, and check your exits in case you have to move fast.
You're still not sure you can evade Dr. Caul's security, if you need to. The only bright spot is how bad Giselle looks.
As you head into the Spill Zone, you pass Vani, who gives you the slightest nod. You must have made an impression on her; she's willing to help you out.
You're led, not to her office, but deeper into the facility, until you reach a huge steel hangar-like door.
"This is the Snow Room," Giselle says. "Where Dr. Caul and I conduct our research into how to mimic and emulate vampiric flesh."
