Chapter 12 - Forbidden soul elixir

Orin knew the ecto wave had emanated from Vandel but he never thought to ask himself how it happened. He quickly rushed towards Vandel. "You dare ask about her condition huh? If anything happens to her, am going to kill you!"

"Shut the f*ck up! Opal is my sister. You don't fight for her on my behalf!" Vandel fired back. He had resolved to stand up to Orin since he's being so cocky.

"So what? You get her killed when you choose to?"

'Killed?' That word reverberated in Vandel's mind. Is Opal's lifeless condition at this point his fault? What nonsense is this b*stard spewing?

"Only the shamenga can cure her soul now. We have to consult a forbidden level alchemist," Lin said as she dropped to the floor. She was exhausted. She had used up all her energy to preserve Opal's soul universe from falling apart.

"The forbidden soul elixir?" Master Park asked wide-eyed.

"She might turn into a monster if she consumes that elixir! The chances are slim." Liam shouted.

The shamenga is a powerful soul elixir that was forbidden by the magic authorities due to its ruthless way of mending a soul universe. It was formed by a powerful alchemist that had reigned terror in the world before she was finally killed. This alchemist was a powerful goddess that attained the highest level of cultivation in magic and skill but at the end, she began to fight mages.

The shamenga can either mend a soul or turn the soul into a demon. It all depends on the strength of the soul. A fifty fifty process.

"Can you f*cking tell me what happened to her!!" Vandel was slowly losing his patience.

"Do you have a current flowing through your blood or are you too dumb to realize you've electrocuted her?" One of the healing mages, Pamise shouted into Vandel's face. "Did you have to go as far as damaging her soul? You don't want her to go through a soul repair from the healing magic at the least! You really want to kill her at all costs! How evil of you!" Pamise continued ranting.

'Huh, kill her? Did she step into my domain?'

Master Park touched Vandel's shoulder and signalled him to come with him. They went to a corner.

Master Park sighed. "While you were sitting on that rock, what really happened?"

'Should I tell him about the system or the domain? Will he believe me?' Vandel thought.

If he told them about the system and its incredulous quests and levelling up, they might assume he's become a psycho or he's possessed by a demon. Not after staying that long in the orange zone.

From what he has seen so far, everyone here was cultivating their magic but his was different. Who would believe him when he hasn't even gone through the awakening.

He levels up at a rapid rate. He has levelled up three times in one day.

'Well, no. It's not wise to tell them now.'

"I was meditating while I was there so I don't know what really happened to Opal."

"While you were there you didn't feel any onrush of strong wind?"

"I-did feel it but I thought it was just a normal wind."

"This..." Master Park pointed at Opal, then continued, "...happened when Opal touched you. By any chance did you secure any lightning tool that wields an electrocution field or a wind tool that wields a domain?"

Master Park knew he was being ridiculous. Vandel was no mage so there was no way he could identify any cultivation tool when he sees one, let alone activating it. He was just considering all possibilities.

"Lightning tool? Wind tool? No. I woke up to find myself in the middle of the savanna. That's the only thing I can remember." He finally gave them a hint but a really hard one.

'Hmmm...if he woke up in the savanna and suddenly became this powerful, then what must have happened to him in his unconscious state and how exactly did he end up here in the first place?'

"She's awake!"

A voice suddenly announced as soon as Opal woke up. They rushed towards her.

Opal was clutching her chest while gritting her teeth. She felt sharp pains within her chest almost like she has a hole in her heart. She couldn't even stand up. Her pale blue colour gradually returned to normal.

"Are you alright?" Vandel asked as he bent and knelt beside her. Opal only managed a nod, then turned to his face. "Are you okay?" She asked. She remembered rushing to save Vandel from the cyclone but the next thing that happened seemed vague to her.

Vandel felt his emotions rising. Opal is the one seriously injured here but she is asking after him instead. "The wind, did it hurt you?"

'Where exactly did such violent wind come from?' She thought.

"Am fine. Your energy, can you feel it?" Vandel was scared about Opal not being able to cast magic anymore. What if she is in danger? Then she can't even save herself?

"Move aside! She needs some energy replenishment!" Pamise the second healing mage with the highest cultivation opted to cast her "energy refill" on Opal as she had lost quite a great deal of it.

'Its really good to come with a healing mage on an expedition no matter how inexperienced they may be,' Liam thought.

Vandel stood and watched as Pamise cast her magic. White thin fog with a calm aura descended on Opal who was barely awake and just then, that energetic look she had always been seen with returned.

Then...
