For his target, David had decided on avoiding the seemingly weakest option.
Though it was weak, it was in close proximity with two Yellow Core signals. Which meant that it was either being hunted, or a child.
Neither option would end well for David. He picked a more isolated beast, far from the others, a three star Orange Core.
It's signal was found atop a small rise in the forest, without many signals nearby it.
David flicked through the forest, using his tentacles to swing from the trees, avoiding the tangled ground as much as possible.
From time to time, David would pause to spread out his sensory web, checking to see if any beasts had come closer to his targets territory, or if it had moved.
Luckily for David, it remained put, it was probably resting, waiting in ambush or feeding.
It was rare for a beast to remain stationary for long, other than for those few reasons.
